Tour du Millénaire

The Croix Scaille is the plateau of a forested massif in the Ardennes, in Wallonia, bounded to the north by the valley of the Semois and to the east by the Meuse. It is the highest point of the southern Ardennes, with a height of 504 metres above sea level and is located exactly on the Franco-Belgian border on the edge of the French département of Ardennes (commune of Hautes-Rivières), and the Belgian province of Namur (Gedinne commune). The wooded plateau is covered by the bois de Saint-Jean on the Belgian side, named after the stream that crosses the border from south to north, and by the bois des Haies on the French side, probably taking its name from the beech trees (French: hêtres) which are one of the dominant species here together with oak and spruce. During the Second World War, the wooded area of Croix Scaille was a hotbed of maquis resistance in the Ardennes. The Tour du Millénaire, which was erected in 2001, has 243 steps and enables a panoramic view of the Belgian and French Ardennes. The original wooden structure rotted and was dismantled in 2008 before being rebuilt in metal in 2012.

Les Hautes-Rivières (French pronunciation: [le ot ʁivjɛʁ]) is a commune in the Ardennes department in northern France. It lies on both banks of the river Semois, on the border with Belgium.

Gedinne (French pronunciation: [ʒə.din]; Walloon: Djedene) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. On 1 January 2006 the municipality had 4,405 inhabitants. The total area is 151.56 km2 (58.52 sq mi), giving a population density of 29 inhabitants per square kilometre (75/sq mi). It is situated in the Ardennes east of Meuse valley. The western limit of the municipality is the French border. Bohan-sur-Semois (Walloon: Bôhan) is a village of Wallonia and a district of Vresse-sur-Semois, located in the province of Namur, Belgium. Most of the buildings in the village date from the 18th & 19th centuries. Bohan is located in the Belgian Ardennes mountains on the banks of the Semois river. Bohan is only 2 km from the French border (just across from the town of Charleville) and is surrounded by splendid walks and nature, as well as being close to important second world war sites in the Ardennes. The micro-climatic conditions in Bohan are very mild. Bohan is the former centre of the forgotten tobacco agriculture in Belgium, evidence of which can still be seen in the village today. Today Bohan is famous for its specialties like tobacco, trout fishing and tourism. The population of Bohan during the year is very small (in the village itself this is around 100) and mainly agricultural; however during the summer the population of the area swells to be several thousand due to this being one of the centres of holidays in Belgium.The village is made up of a main square (on which there is a church from the 17th century, plus a number of different bars and restaurants, as well as two butchers and a patisserie) and then a couple of side roads. Due to the Semois river on one side and the hills all around, there is not much room for the village to grow any further. In the area are a large number of camping and holiday parks, thanks to the walking, cycling, horse-riding and kayaking opportunities on offer in the area. The whole surrounding area is a nature lovers paradise. The village also has an important Delhaize grocery and general store, as well as a post office, so is very well catered for given its small size. Bohan has two bridges across the Semois river. The first is built in stone and is missing two arches. This bridge was originally started in 1930 and was opened in 1935, formed to carry the tram that went through the village to Membre (another village 3 km up the road). On May 11, 1940 two arches were blown up by the French army, to stop the German advance through the Ardennes. The bridge was repaired in 1941, only to be destroyed again in 1944 by the German army as it retreated from Belgium. The bridge remains today with its missing arches, although the tram tracks themselves have long disappeared. The second bridge was built in the 1950s and today is festooned with European and USA flags to show peace and harmony between the various countries. Bohan is part of the Commune of Vresse sur Semois.

The Arboretum de la Pipe Qui Fume (4 hectares) is an arboretum located in the Forêt Domaniale des Hazelles at Bogny-sur-Meuse, Ardennes, Grand-Est, France. It is open daily without charge. The arboretum site was founded in 1996 by the Société d'Histoire Naturelle des Ardennes, and is currently managed by the Office National des Forêts, which offers guided tours. It contains trees, including ash and maple, shrubs, perennial plants, ferns, and annual flowers, growing about a deep ravine with slopes to 35%.

Vresse-sur-Semois (French pronunciation: [vʁɛs syʁ səmwa], literally Vresse on Semois; Walloon: Vresse) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Namur, Belgium. The municipality consists of the following districts: Alle, Bagimont, Bohan, Chairière, Laforêt, Membre, Mouzaive, Nafraiture, Orchimont, Pussemange, Sugny, and Vresse. On its south and west, the municipality borders the Ardennes department of France. It is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) north of Sedan.

Laforêt (Walloon: La Foret) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Vresse-sur-Semois, located in the province of Namur, Belgium, and is close to the French border. It was a municipality itself until 1965 when it merged with the municipality of Vresse. In the fusion of the municipalities in 1977, it became part of the Vresse-sur-Semois municipality.It is one of the villages in the organisation Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie.

Bogny-sur-Meuse (French pronunciation: [bɔɲi syʁ møz], literally Bogny on Meuse) is a commune in the Ardennes department in the Grand Est region of northern France. Bogny-sur-Meuse is known for multiple sites linked to the medieval legend of The Four Sons of Aymon, such as the Hermitage, the statue of Bayard the horse, and the four peaks symbolizing the four brothers. Situated in the Ardennes mountains, the commune extends along the banks of the Meuse.

The Semois (French pronunciation: [səmwa]; Simwès in Walloon, often under elided form Smwès; Semoy, Sesbach in German, Setzbaach in Luxembourgish of Arlon; and known as the Semoy in France) is a river flowing from the Ardennes uplands of Belgium and France towards the Meuse, of which it is a right tributary. The source of the Semois is in Arlon, Wallonia, in the Belgian province of Luxembourg, close to the border with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Flowing in a roughly westerly direction, it enters France after passing through the Belgian village of Bohan-sur-Semois and forms about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) of the Belgian–French border. It joins the Meuse 24 kilometres (15 mi) further downstream in Monthermé. The total length of the river is 210 kilometres (130 mi). Other places on the banks of the Semois are Chiny, Florenville, Herbeumont, Bouillon (including the localities of Dohan and Poupehan), and Vresse-sur-Semois (all in Belgium). The earliest documentation of the name, as SESMARA, is dated from the 2nd century AD. That was before that region was influenced by significant Germanic immigration. Medieval forms include Sesomirs (664), Sesmarus (950), Sesmoys (1104), and Semoir (1244). The river has given its name to a variety of tobacco grown in the area.

The canton of Bogny-sur-Meuse is an administrative division of the Ardennes department, northern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Bogny-sur-Meuse. It consists of the following communes:
