Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation (VIS) is a Taiwanese specialized IC foundry service provider, founded in December 1994 in Hsinchu Science Park by Morris Chang. In March 1998, VIS became a listed company on the Taiwan Over-The-Counter Stock Exchange (OTC) with the main shareholders TSMC, National Development Fund and other institutional investors.

The International Bilingual School at Hsinchu Science Park (IBSH; Chinese: 國立科學工業園區實驗高級中學雙語部), formerly known as Bilingual Department of National Experimental High School At Science Based Industrial Park, is near the Hsinchu Science Park. It is part of a public, coeducational school (preprimary-12), National Experimental High School (NEHS). Founded in August 1983, the school was proposed by the founder of the Science Park Kwoh-Ting Li and administered by Ministry of Education, National Science Council and administration of the Park. Originally IBSH was formed to attract high-tech talent and technologies to move to Hsinchu Science park, but the Ministry of Education won't allow the creation of a school based solely for oversea workers. Thus, NEHS was created to satisfy the conditions set by the Ministry of Education. IBSH only admits children of employees of private enterprises in the Park, government organizations, Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Chiao Tung University and National Tsing Hua University. The Bilingual Department of NEHS changed its name before the 2008-2009 school year after a visit from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in the spring of 2008. In summer 2011, IBSH was granted WASC accreditation. It serves students in the English-speaking community who seek an American college-preparatory education or plan to transfer into the local school system.

The National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC; Chinese: 國家同步輻射研究中心; pinyin: Guójiā Tóngbù Fúshè Yánjiū Zhōngxīn) synchrotron radiation facility at the Hsinchu Science Park in East District, Hsinchu City, Taiwan as the agency under the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of China. It houses the Taiwan Light Source (TLS) and Taiwan Photon Source (TPS). Additionally, the NSRRC also operates two beamlines at SPring-8 in Japan and the Sika neutron scattering instrument at the OPAL research reactor in Australia.

National Experimental High School At Hsinchu Science Park (NEHS; Chinese: 國立新竹科學園區實驗高級中等學校), situated near the Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan, is a public, coeducational school (pre-primary-12). Founded in August 1983, the school was proposed by the founder of the Science Park Kwoh-Ting Li. NEHS is administered by the Ministry of Education, National Science Council and the Science Park Administration. With the exception of the rigorous "Advanced Math and Science Class" of the Senior High School department, NEHS only admits children of employees of private enterprises in the Science Park, government organizations, the Industrial Technology Research Institute, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and National Tsing Hua University. In 2009, the school adjusted qualification and number of enrollment in response to the national decline of birth rate and to late-2000s financial crisis (which impacts the employment status of parents working in the Science Park).International Bilingual School at Hsinchu Science Park (IBSH), formerly known as the Bilingual Department, is affiliated with NEHS and provides a rigorous American-style curriculum supplemented with a mandatory Mandarin Chinese language program in addition to other national education requirements dictated by the Taiwanese government. IBSH is located on the same campus as NEHS.

The Hsinchu Science Park (HSP; traditional Chinese: 新竹科學園區; simplified Chinese: 新竹科学园区; pinyin: Xīnzhú Kēxué Yuánqū; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Sin-tek Kho-ha̍k Kang-gia̍p Hn̂g-khu) is an industrial park established by the government of Taiwan on 15 December 1980. It straddles Hsinchu City and Hsinchu County in Taiwan.

Hsinchu American School (HAS; Chinese: 新竹美國學校) is private, international school with a largely based American curriculum located in East District, Hsinchu City, Taiwan. It was founded in 2004 by Glory Yeh, a Taiwanese real estate developer. HAS offers instruction in English for students grades 1-12. It is recognized by American Institute in Taiwan and the Taiwan Ministry of Education.

Sagor Bilingual School was founded in 1999 by Taiwanese real estate businessman Glory Yeh. It is located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan in an open-style four-story building located in a gated community. The school offers full Mandarin-language classes as well as a full English language curriculum given by foreign teachers. This school caters mostly to IT workers from the Hsinchu Science Park who want their children to pursue Chinese education at the same time as an English one. Language Arts classes take up 10 hours a week, plus 3 hours of English Mathematics and 3 hours of English Science. The school has a track and basketball courts. It also offers ESL and EFL classes after school taught by foreigners.

The National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University School of Law ("NYCU Law") is a postgraduate law school located on the campus of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Hsinchu, Taiwan. NYCU Law began as the "Intellectual Property Management" Program in 1993, and then the Institute of Technology Law ("ITL") in 2000. The ITL was transformed into the National Chiao Tung University School of Law in 2015. In February 2021, because of the combination of National Yang-Ming University and National Chiao Tung University, the National Chiao Tung University School of Law was renamed the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University School of Law. Its programs award advanced degrees including master's degrees as well as doctorate degrees. It is a postgraduate professional school, aiming to provide legal training for students already having bachelor's or more advanced degrees, and focuses on a cross-disciplinary legal education environment. Of note, NYCU Law stands out as one of the few law schools in Taiwan that teaches Anglo-American common law systems, alongside traditional civil law systems.

The Baoshan Dam (traditional Chinese: 寶山壩; simplified Chinese: 宝山坝; pinyin: Bǎoshān Bà; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Pó-san Chúi-khò͘) is a dam located in Baoshan Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. The dam supplies water to Hsinchu City and cooling water to factories in Hsinchu Science and Industrial Park.

The Museum of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (traditional Chinese: 交大發展館; simplified Chinese: 交大发展馆; pinyin: Jiāodà Fāzhǎnguǎn) is a museum about the history of the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in East District, Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The museum is located at the National Chiao Tung University.

Chung Hua University (CHU; Chinese: 中華大學; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tiong-hôa Tāi-ha̍k) is a private university located in Xiangshan District, Hsinchu City, Taiwan. It was formerly known as Chung Hua Polytechnic Institute founded in 1990 by three local Hsinchu entrepreneurs, Ron-Chang Wang, Zau-Juang Tsai and Lin Junq-tzer. It was upgraded to university status and renamed as "Chung Hua University" in 1997. There are six colleges with 25 departments offering undergraduate courses as well as 16 master programs and 3 PH.D. programs. CHU is accredited by AACSB.

The CIWC Tower (traditional Chinese: 豐邑雲智匯; simplified Chinese: 丰邑云智汇; pinyin: Fēng yì yún zhì huì) is a skyscraper office building located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. The building was completed in 2016, with a total floor area of 64,370 m2 (692,900 sq ft) and a height of 135 m (443 ft) that comprise 30 floors above ground, as well as five basement levels. As of January 2021, it is the tallest building in Hsinchu City.
