Crestwood, Yonkers

Crestwood station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, serving the communities of Tuckahoe, Yonkers, and Eastchester, New York. It is 16.7 miles (26.9 km) from Grand Central Terminal and travel time there is approximately 42 minutes. Because of its location at the northern end of the triple-track segment of the Harlem Line, Crestwood is often the first/last stop outside New York City on Harlem Line express trains, and its center island platform is frequently used to short turn local trains during rush hour. The Harlem Line has two stations in the village of Tuckahoe. Tuckahoe station, the next station heading southbound, is located near Tuckahoe Village Hall, while Crestwood is located near the adjoining residential neighborhood of Crestwood, Yonkers. As of August 2006, daily commuter ridership was 1,596, and there are 283 parking spots. The station is the first/last station in the Zone 3 Metro-North fare zone.

Tuckahoe is a village in Westchester County, New York, United States. One-and-a-half miles long and three-fourths of a mile wide, with the Bronx River serving as its western boundary, the Village of Tuckahoe is approximately sixteen miles north of midtown Manhattan in Southern Westchester County. As of the 2010 census, the village's population was 6,486.The village can be reached by the Metro-North railroad system. The Tuckahoe and Crestwood stations are 32 minutes and 34 minutes from New York City's Grand Central Terminal, respectively.

Armour Villa is a neighborhood in Northeast Yonkers, New York, that shares a postal zip code with the town of Bronxville, New York. It lies west of the Bronx River Parkway, between Tuckahoe Road and Pondfield Road West. Although part of the City of Yonkers, Armour Villa is just over the border from the Village of Bronxville. Along with several adjoining Yonkers neighborhoods, it has a Bronxville ZIP code. The neighborhood was incorporated in 1889 as the Armour Villa Park Association. The investors who formed the association purchased the property from a man named Cornelius Smith for $39,000; Smith had purchased the land nine years earlier for only $6,500.Cornelius Smith had a son named H. Armour Smith, which has led to speculation of some kind of connection (a relative or an investor) between Smith and Herman O. Armour, who was the head of the New York House of Armour Meat Packing Company. The New York Times reported that several of Armour Villa's houses date to its earliest days. Nancy Little's house, an Arts and Crafts Victorian farmhouse, was built in 1890. The majority of the homes – mostly Tudors, Colonials, and Victorians – were built in the 1920s and 1930s, and are priced from $500,000 to the low $900,000's. There are also a handful of houses priced in the Millions. Interspersed with the older houses are ranches, mostly built in the 1960s and 1970s.

The Church of the Immaculate Conception is a Roman Catholic parish church of the Archdiocese of New York located in Tuckahoe, New York. Founded in 1853, the parish is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Following a merger, the parish was reorganized as the parish of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of our Lady, including the respective two churches.

Eastchester High School is located in Westchester County, New York in the town of Eastchester. A part of the Eastchester Union Free School District, it is a former U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon school with approximately 1009 students. Eastchester is a census-designated place (CDP) in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 19,554 at the 2010 census. The Eastchester CDP consists of the Town of Eastchester excluding the villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe.

Concordia College (CCNY) was a four-year liberal arts college in Bronxville, New York. Concordia College was sponsored by the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) and was a member of the Concordia University System. It was chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York to offer associate, bachelor, and master's degrees. Concordia, founded in 1881 as Concordia Progymnasium, received its original charter from the State Regents in 1936. From 1918 to 1969, it was named Concordia Collegiate Institute; in 1969, the preparatory school was closed and the present name of the college was authorized by a charter change. In 1972, the State Regents authorized the college to grant the baccalaureate degree. In 2011, the State Regents authorized the college to grant the master's degree.On January 28, 2021, Concordia announced that it would cease offering classes as of the Fall 2021 semester, and that Iona College would purchase the Bronxville campus and provide a "teach-out" for current students. A parade of graduates was held on May 8, 2021, to mark the final May commencement for the college. Classes ceased being offered by the college in August 2021, with a final conferral of degrees in December 2021.

Bronxville Women's Club is a historic women's club located in Bronxville, Westchester County, New York. Its building was constructed from 1927 to 1928 in the Colonial Revival style and was designed by noted local architect Penrose Stout (1887–1934). Its layout is that of a T-shape, constructed of stuccoed brick on a poured concrete foundation. The front elevation is one and one half stories with a central pavilion flanked by two smaller, recessed pavilions. It has a prominent slate-covered gable roof. The rear of the front section is two and one half stories tall. Most of the ground floor is occupied by an auditorium. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.The club, as an organization, was founded in 1925 by Anna Bisand, daughter of William Van Duzer Lawrence (1842–1927), one of the founders of Bronxville. The club exists today as a non-profit educational, social, artistic, and philanthropic membership-based organization.

The village comprises one square mile (2.5 km2) of land in its entirety, approximately 20% of the town of Eastchester. As of the 2020 U.S. census, Bronxville had a population of 6,656. In 2016, Bronxville was rated by CNBC as the most expensive suburb of any of the U.S. ten largest cities, with a median home value of $2.33 million. It was ranked eighth in Bloomberg's "America's 100 Richest Places" in 2017 and 2018 and ninth in 2019 and is the second-richest town in the state of New York.
