Gerald R. Ford International Airport (IATA: GRR, ICAO: KGRR, FAA LID: GRR) is a commercial airport in Cascade Township approximately 13 miles (21 km) southeast of Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States. The facility is owned by the Kent County Board of Commissioners and managed by an independent authority. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021 categorized it as a small hub primary commercial service facility.The facility opened as the Kent County Airport and later became Kent County International Airport; in December 1999 the airport was renamed for Gerald R. Ford, the 40th Vice President and the 38th President of the United States. Ford represented the Grand Rapids area in the United States House of Representatives from 1949 to 1973. The airport is the largest commercial airport in the West Michigan region and is the second-largest airport in Michigan after Detroit Metropolitan Airport. GRR covers 3,127 acres (1,265 ha).The airport currently has flights to 37 domestic airports.

The Thornapple River Drive Bridge is a road bridge in Cascade Township, Michigan, carrying Thornapple River Drive over the Thornapple River. It was listed on he National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

West Michigan Aviation Academy (WMAA) is a charter high school in Cascade Township, Michigan, near Grand Rapids. Students have the option of completing flight training and obtaining their Private Pilot Certificate.

Forest Hills is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 25,867 at the 2010 census.Forest Hills is the most-populated CDP and also the largest by area in the state of Michigan. The CDP encompasses nearly all of Ada Township and most of the northern half of Cascade Township. The Forest Hills Public Schools District serves most of the community.

The Whitney Tavern Stand served as an inn and local gathering place in Cascade Township, Michigan for fifty years after its construction in the 1852-53 period. In its first few years it served as a stop for stagecoaches on the lines that, connecting Battle Creek, Hastings, and Kalamazoo with Grand Rapids, passed through Whitneyville. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Forest Hills Central High School is located in Ada Township, Michigan, near Grand Rapids. It is one of three high schools in the Forest Hills Public Schools system. The district also includes Forest Hills Eastern High School (FHE) and Forest Hills Northern High School (FHN).

WVHF is an AM radio station licensed to broadcast at 1140 kHz for Kentwood, Michigan in the Grand Rapids market. The station is licensed to broadcast with 5,000 watts of power during the daytime hours but must sign off at sunset to protect co-channel WRVA (AM) in Richmond, Virginia. It is rebroadcast on WSPB 89.7 FM; licensed to Bedford, it serves the Battle Creek area. In September 2009 WJNZ Radio was purchased at a public auction by Holy Family Radio with the intent of becoming a Catholic radio station with a talk format. The station was silent for several months pending the FCC's authorization to transfer the license and during which time the call signs were changed to WVHF - Voice of the Holy Family. The sale was completed on December 8, 2010, and the station went back on the air Christmas Day, 2010 with the new Catholic format. WVHF is a non-profit, listener-supported radio station.

The Ada Covered Bridge is a 125-foot (38 m) span Brown truss covered bridge erected in 1867 in Ada, Michigan, United States. Carrying Bronson Street across the Thornapple River, it is located just south of where the Thornapple enters the Grand River, in turn just south of M-21. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Schmohz Brewing Company is a brewery and taproom located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jim Schwerin (owner/brewer) and Gabi Palmer (head brewer) are responsible for brewing the beer. Both are alumni of Michigan Technological University (MTU). Schmohz holds a Michigan microbrewery license. Schmohz products are also available in stores, bars, and restaurants around Michigan. The Taproom (located at 2600 Patterson Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546) features 16 taps, including 8 standard beers, 7 seasonal and rotating beers, and a rootbeer soda (great for floats). The Treasure Chest ESB won a gold medal at the 2017 U.S. Open Beer Championship.In 2009 Schmohz added a biergarten so patrons can drink their beer outside. Picnic tables and an honor grill populate the biergarten. Schmohz does not serve food but is outside-food friendly. You can even have food delivered there. In 2018 Schmohz opened a second taproom inside Mancino's Pizza in Petoskey, Michigan. The Petoskey location has 11 taps which includes a rootbeer soda plus 10 rotating beers. Schmohz also hosts the West Michigan Chapter of the Michigan Tech Alumni Association monthly meetings and is an integral part of event staff for the Chapter.

The Davenport Panthers are the athletic teams of Davenport University located in Caledonia Township, Michigan. DU is a member of the NCAA and compete at the Division II level in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) for most sports. Men's lacrosse and wrestling currently compete as an NCAA independent; although both sports will join the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in 2020–21. In addition the university's competitive cheer and Stunt teams compete National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) while the DU competitive dance team competes in the National Dance Association (NDA). Davenport added varsity Esports as a member of National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) in 2018.In addition to NCAA sports, DU also offers additional sports that the NCAA does not currently sponsor championships. Men's rugby competes at the Division I level of USA Rugby's Midwest Rugby Union, as well as a JV team at the DII level. Men's ice hockey competes in the ACHA Division I in the Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL), as well as a JV team at the ACHA DIII level. Davenport gained full membership in the NCAA in 2019 after successfully completing the multi-year transition process. Formerly the panthers were a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Wolverine–Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC).

Davenport University is a private university with campuses throughout Michigan and online. It was founded in 1866 by Conrad Swensburg and currently offers associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees; diplomas; and post-grad certification programs in business, technology, health professions, and graduate studies (MBA). Davenport's W.A. Lettinga Main Campus is in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The main campus includes student organizations, residence halls, and athletic programs.

Ada Township ( AY-duh) is a civil township of Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 14,388 at the 2020 census.The majority of the township is included in the Forest Hills census-designated place, which is used only for statistical purposes. Ada Township is part of the Grand Rapids metropolitan area and is about 3.0 miles (4.8 km) east of the city of Grand Rapids. The township is the corporate home of Alticor and its subsidiary companies Amway North America and Amway.
