The Nebraska School for the Deaf, or NSD, was a residential school for Deaf students in kindergarten through Grade Twelve at 3223 North 45th Street in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. Founded in 1869, the school closed in 1998. The school attracted national attention throughout its existence, first for controversial teaching practices and then for its closure.

Fontenelle Park is a 108-acre (0.44 km2) public park located at 4575 Ames Avenue, at an intersection of Fontenelle Boulevard in North Omaha, Nebraska. In the late 1940s, the park made headlines across the Midwestern United States as the possible home of a minor league baseball team.

KIOS-FM (91.5 MHz) is a National Public Radio member station in Omaha, Nebraska, United States, owned and operated by Omaha Public Schools. The station signed in on September 1969 as the first educational radio station in Nebraska. It is a charter member of NPR. KIOS-FM is licensed to broadcast in the HD (hybrid) format.

Omaha Benson High School Magnet, Benson High Magnet, or Benson High, is located at 5120 Maple Street in Omaha, Nebraska, United States, in the Benson community of Omaha. The original site of Benson High was the current building that houses Benson West Elementary School. Founded in 1904, Benson High is one of the oldest high schools in the state. Its enrollment is approximately 1,500 students. As of 2018, the principal was Tom Wagner. The school mascot is the Bunny.A full renovation of the school was completed in the mid-1990s. Additions included a new science classroom wing, an auditorium for the performing arts, a gymnasium, a student commons area and a track and football field. The football field and track were redone once again during the 2006 summer.Benson is currently participating in NASA's Student Launch Initiative program.Omaha Benson High School is also one of the Omaha area schools that participates in the yearly Day of Silence event.

Krug Park (currently known as Gallagher Park) was an amusement park located at 2936 North 52nd Street in the Benson neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska, United States at the turn of the 20th century. In 1930, Krug Park was the site of the worst roller coaster accident in the nation up to that time.

Omaha North High Magnet School is a public high school located at 4410 North 36th Street in the city of Omaha, Nebraska. The school is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) magnet school in the Omaha Public Schools district. North has won several awards, including being named a 2007 Magnet Schools of America "Magnet School of Excellence".

The Country Club Historic District is located in Omaha, Nebraska from 50th to 56th Streets, from Corby to Seward Streets. With dozens of homes built between 1925 and 1949 in the late 19th and 20th Century Revival styles, the community was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.According to the district's National Register of Historic Places nomination, "the Country Club Historic District is significant as an early 20th century Omaha subdivision that was planned and marketed to attract homebuyers who expected an exceptionally high level of quality and consistency in neighborhood layout, amenities, home design, and environment. The district has a large concentration and variety of fine period revival houses, many of them designed by local architects."

Metcalfe Park is a small park bearing the namesake of the surrounding neighborhood of Metcalfe, Omaha, Nebraska, located at 1700 Country Club Avenue. One lap around the park perimeter sidewalk (excluding the playground area) is equivalent to 1/3 mile (almost 0.5 km). It occupies approximately 4 acres and is bounded by Decatur St (north), Happy Hollow Ave (south), 51st St (west) and Country Club Ave (east).

City Sprouts is a community garden, urban farm, and educational resource center in the Orchard Hill neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska. Founded in 1995, City Sprouts is the oldest community garden in the city. The organization is registered as a 501(c)(3) not-for profit entity. The stated mission objectives of City Sprouts are: To increase the availability of fresh, locally grown produce To provide employment for at-risk youth To educate the community about healthy lifestyle choices To build communityThrough gardening with City Sprouts, students are provided the opportunity to develop employment skills. The Executive Director of City Sprouts is Roxanne Williams.

The Orchard Hill is a neighborhood in North Omaha, Nebraska. One of the oldest neighborhoods in the city, Orchard Hill is home to some of the city's oldest homes. The neighborhood's boundaries are Hamilton Street on the south, Blondo Street on the north, 36th Street on the east and the Omaha Belt Line on the west. The John A. Creighton Boulevard runs through the eastern part of the neighborhood.

The Malcolm X House Site located at 3448 Pinkney Street in North Omaha, Nebraska, marks the place where Malcolm X first lived with his family. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and is also on the Nebraska list of heritage sites.
