Slidell, Louisiana

Slidell station is an Amtrak intercity train station in Slidell, Louisiana, served by the daily Crescent train. It was built in 1913 for the use of the New Orleans and Northeastern and the New Orleans Great Northern Railroads. Slidell was first established in 1881 as a construction camp for the NO&NE. The station is served by one daily Amtrak train. The Norfolk Southern Railway, successor to the NO&NE, donated the depot to the city in 1996. It was substantially renovated with a grant from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development with funds received from the federal government under the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991. It currently houses an art gallery, the Slidell Cultural Center, and an American-style hamburger restaurant named Times Grill.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996 as New Orleans and Northeastern–New Orleans and Great Northern Railroad Depot.

The Camp Salmen House is located on the shores of Bayou Liberty in St. Tammany Parish, west of Slidell, Louisiana, USA. It is a French Creole cottage, circa 1830. The house was built with a brick core, wood frame post rooms, a cabinet/loggia, and front gallery. The entire structure, including the front gallery, is approximately 1,692 square feet. The house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 24, 2006. It is one of only fourteen examples of the period French Creole architecture in the parish. The National Register of Historic Places listings in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana lists 38 historic places in St. Tammany Parish.

North Shore Square was a 621,192-square-foot (57,710.6 m2) shopping mall located in Slidell, Louisiana, United States. It was the largest mall on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain, the 5th largest mall in the New Orleans area, and the 11th largest mall in Louisiana.The mall was home to three anchor stores: two Dillard's locations (One was originally a D. H. Holmes, and the second was originally a Maison Blanche, which opened in 1990.) At Home and Conn’s were with six other stores in the interior shortly before its closure. All three anchor stores are on one level. The mall did not flood during Hurricane Katrina and experienced no serious damage. The mall formerly had Mervyns as an anchor store, but closed shortly after the storm when Mervyn's pulled out of the Louisiana market. The store was eventually replaced by Burlington Coat Factory, which closed due to corporate downsizing, and was later replaced by Conn’s. Sears closed in June 2014 and was replaced by At Home. JCPenney closed on July 31, 2017. The mall struggled partially due to increased internet-based sales as well as an open-air shopping center located on the opposite side of town, to which it lost some of its tenants. North Shore Square came under new ownership in November 2006, after Toronto, Ontario, Canada based Revenue Properties Company Limited (a division of Morguard Corporation) purchased the mall's New Orleans based owner, Sizeler Property Investors. There was an arcade called Pocket Change and also a food court in the mall with as many as 10 different places to eat at its peak that consisted of Chick-fil-A, Dante’s Pizza, Mandarin Express, Mrs. Fields Cookies, Arby’s, Subway, Auntie Anne's, a grill, a NOLA wings franchise, and a Fiesta Mexican cafe, all of which have since closed.In early April 2019, it was announced by Morguard that the mall’s interior would be closed, which has occurred as of July the same year, with the company planning to convert the mall into an open-air shopping center at some point. This leaves At Home, Conn’s, and Dillard’s (now operating as a clearance store) as the only remaining open stores on the property. In 2022 the Mall was used for a car chase scene in Peacocks ' live Action comedy Post-apocalyptic series Twisted Metal. Based on the videogame series of the same name. The mall was renamed RidgePointe Centre which was a mall featured in the map Suburbs in Twisted Metal: Black on PlayStation 2.

Alton is an unincorporated community in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. The community is located 3 mi (4.8 km) north of Slidell on U.S. Route 11, 1.25 miles (2.01 km) north of I-12.

The Francois Cousin House near Slidell is located in eastern St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, west of the City of Slidell, Louisiana. The house is a French Creole Cottage, likely built between 1778 and 1790, by Francois Cousin. Cousin, born in 1745 in New Orleans, managed his father's lumber and brick making business interests on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. He built this home facing Bayou Liberty which has direct access to Lake Pontchartrain. Behind the home are the pits used to mine the clay. Cousin also owned property in Lacombe, Louisiana.The core of the home, built c. 1790, was constructed with briquette entre poteaux walls (bricks between posts). The front gallery, running the length of the home, has chamfered gallery columns. Behind the gallery are two rooms of equal size, with one large additional room behind, all served by a central chimney with wrap around mantels. There is a dormer located above this section of the home. In the late 19th century or early 20th century, an additional three rooms were added to the rear of the home, along with side galleries.

Eden Isle is a census-designated place (CDP) in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States, on the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain. The population was 7,041 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area is a residential community with homes built on a system of canals connecting to eastern Lake Pontchartrain, which also includes businesses along the Interstate-10 corridor as well as restaurants and marina services within the residential section.

The Haaswood Store, at 62011 Louisiana Highway 1091 in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, near Pearl River, Louisiana, was built in 1930. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.The store was in operation into the 1960s. The building is a one-and-one-half-story store at an intersection in the unincorporated community of Haaswood, Louisiana. It is built with wood frame and cast concrete blocks.
