Bonita High School

Lutheran High School La Verne (also known as Faith Lutheran), was a private, college preparatory Lutheran High School in La Verne, California. Affiliated with the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), the school served students from the San Gabriel, Pomona, and Inland valleys. Built on a foundation of faith in Christ, the school provided college preparatory curriculum to a co-educational student population in grades nine through twelve. The school colors were red, white and blue and the mascot was the Trojans. One special feature of the program at Lutheran High School was its Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program, which enrolled over 20% of the student population annually. It was one of only five NJROTC units in the United States that are available in a private school. Because of the achievements of the NJROTC Unit at Lutheran High School, the U.S. Navy rated LHS as an honor distinguished unit. NJROTC Scholarships were available for college-bound students. Enrollment at the school started to decline in 2000, and by 2023, the school was facing foreclosure. In 2020, the Pacific Southwest District of the LCMS gave financial support and worked with consultants from NextEd to determine the school's future viability. The results of that study led the school's board to announce the closure of the school after the 2022–23 school year.

The University of La Verne (ULV) is a private university in La Verne, California. Founded in 1891, the university is composed of the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business & Public Management, the LaFetra College of Education, College of Law, College of Health and Community Well-Being, an online adult school, two military centers, and a Regional Campus Administration that oversees six regional campuses. It awards undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. Many of their classes are taught at smaller campuses throughout the greater Los Angeles area and Kern County.

La Verne station is an under construction light rail station in the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is currently under construction as part of the Foothill Extension Project and is slated to open in December 2024.The station is located near the intersection of Arrow Highway and E Street along the Pasadena Subdivision right-of-way in La Verne, California. The University of La Verne is northwest of the station, and Fairplex is one block to the south.

The NHRA Winternationals (commonly called the Winternats) are an annual drag racing event held by the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip in Pomona, California.

The Pomona Raceway (currently named the In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, previously named the Auto Club Raceway at Pomona), is a racing facility located in Pomona, California that features a quarter-mile dragstrip. Since its opening in 1961, the dragstrip has hosted the NHRA's Winternationals event – the traditional season opener – and since 2021, the season's last race, the NHRA Finals. These two events have contributed to its becoming perhaps one of the most famous dragstrips in North America. The facility has a seating capacity of 40,000 spectators, and it is one of the few dragstrips in the USA that is operated directly by the NHRA. This dragstrip has also gone by the nickname of The Fairplex, in reference to its location at the Fairplex, formerly called the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds.

City of Knowledge Islamic School is an Islamic K-12 school in Pomona, California.It was established in 1994, with 19 students, by Iraqi immigrants in the Los Angeles area who wanted to preserve Islamic customs among their youth. By 1998 the school had 150 students. That year the school had intentions of creating a gymnasium, a theater, and a center for student assembly. Western Association of Schools and Colleges began accrediting it in 2001.The Assadiq Foundation is associated with the school.

Pomona–North station is a railroad station located in Pomona, California. It is located just west of Garey Avenue and south of Bonita Avenue, and has 225 free parking spaces, which are accessible from either Santa Fe Street or Fulton Road. Pomona–North station serves Metrolink's San Bernardino Line crossing the northern part of the city. A separate station called Pomona station (informally called "Downtown Pomona station", is located Downtown a few miles/kilometers to the south and also near Garey Avenue, is an Amtrak station that also serves Metrolink trains on the Riverside Line. Pomona–North station is served by 34 Metrolink San Bernardino Line trains (17 in each direction) each weekday, running primarily at peak hours in the peak direction of travel. Weekend service consists of 16 trains (8 in each direction) on both Saturday and Sunday, evenly spaced throughout the day.Foothill Transit provides connecting service on Garey Avenue, with stops at Garey and Bonita Avenue for Lines 291 and 492, and stops at Garey Avenue and Arrow Highway for Lines 197 and 291, both approximately one-half mile (800 m) from the station. Both bus and rail service are available 7 days a week.

The Fairplex has been the home of the L.A. County Fair since 1922. Known prior to 1984 as the Los Angeles County Fairgrounds, it is located in the city of Pomona, California. The L.A. County Fair is held during the month of May since 2022, but the facility is used year-round to host a variety of educational, commercial, and entertainment such as trade and consumer shows, conventions, and sporting events. The Fairplex is owned by Los Angeles County, but is leased to and is governed by an independent, self-supporting non-profit organization, the Los Angeles County Fair Association, which manages and produces the county fair and re-invests surplus revenues generated by the fair and other events in the maintenance and development of the facility.

Knight Riders Cricket Ground is a cricket ground at the Fairplex in Pomona, California, serving as the home stadium of the Los Angeles Knight Riders of Major League Cricket (MLC). It opened in July 2026 and is expected to host the Twenty20 cricket tournaments during the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

Damien High School is an all-boys Roman Catholic high school in La Verne, in the U.S. state of California, named for Saint Damien of Molokai. It is located in and operated by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, part of the tri-school community including St. Lucy's Priory High School and Pomona Catholic High School.

Brackett Field (IATA: POC, ICAO: KPOC) is a public airport a mile (2 km) southwest of La Verne, in Los Angeles County, California, United States. It was named after astronomer Frank Parkhurst Brackett (1865–1951).
