Somerset Lake

Black Ash Swamp is a small lake located northwest of Lordville in Delaware County, New York. Blue Mill Stream flows into the lake from the north, it drains south-southwest via Blue Mill Stream, which flows into the Delaware River. Somerset Lake is located northeast of Black Ash Swamp.

Allynwood Academy, formerly the Family Foundation School, was a private, co-educational, college preparatory, therapeutic boarding school located in Hancock, New York. The school was in operation from 1984 through 2014, when it closed due to declining enrollment amid a raft of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse allegations made by alumni in a grassroots "truth campaign." At least ten lawsuits have been brought by former students since 2019, in which plaintiffs claimed that strip searches, hard labor, isolation rooms, physical restraint, and sexual assault were rampant at the school in the 1990s and 2000s. Three of the lawsuits were settled in October 2021 for undisclosed sums. A front-page New York Times article in 2018 reported a pattern of at least one hundred deaths by overdose and suicide among alumni, the vast majority before age 40.

Lordville Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located on Lordville Road in Lordville in Delaware County, New York. It is a single story frame building built in 1896. It features a steep gable roof and open, square shaped belfry.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Humphries Brook is a river in Delaware County, New York. It flows into Somerset Lake from the west, then exits the lake and flows south before converging with the Delaware River in Lordville.

Ravina is a national historic district located at Lordville, a hamlet in the Town of Hancock in Delaware County, New York. The district contains six contributing buildings, one contributing site, and two contributing structures. It encompasses a small rural estate consisting of the main house, guest bungalow, garage, caretakers' dwelling, wood shed, and distinctive landscape features. The main residence is a three-by-three-bay, 2-story wood-frame building listed in the Sears catalog of prefabricated houses as "Shadow Lawn." It and the bungalow were built in 1926–1927.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Sand Pond is a small lake located south of the hamlet of French Woods in Delaware County, New York. The pond is also directly adjacent to French Woods Festival Of The Performing Arts. Sand Pond drains south via an unnamed creek that flows into Bouchoux Brook. Pierce Pond is located north of Sand Pond.

The Lordville–Equinunk Bridge is a girder bridge that connects Lordville, New York with Equinunk, Pennsylvania, United States over the Delaware River. The current structure opened on July 24, 1992, five and a half years after the previous suspension bridge was demolished after quick deterioration.

French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts (or simply French Woods Festival or French Woods), is a private, co-educational performing and visual arts camp for youth aged 7 to 17 located in Hancock, New York. Established in 1970, French Woods is among the most prestigious summer arts programs in the United States.French Woods Festival runs one of the longest summer programs in American camping, running four three-week sessions, one week-long mini-session, and sponsoring a week-long adult camp at its sister camp, French Woods Sports and Arts Center. The primary summer schedule (the first four sessions) itself is among the longest in camping, ending in the last week of August. Campers are not required to attend for the entire summer and are able to choose any arrangement of the four sessions they wish to attend.French Woods Festival has prepared generations of prominent alumni in arts and culture, particularly in the performing arts. Alumni have either won or been nominated for a total of 40 Billboard Awards, 29 Emmy Awards, 26 Tony Awards, 22 Drama Desk Awards, 18 Grammy Awards, 7 Golden Globe Awards, 6 People’s Choice Awards, 4 BRIT Awards, and others. In recent years, French Woods has premiered several amateur productions of Broadway shows, including Billy Elliot and Honeymoon in Vegas.
