Springbank Hill is a large and diverse suburb near the western city limit of Calgary, Alberta in the southwest (SW) quadrant. It is bounded to the north by 17 Avenue SW, to the south by Stoney Trail, to the east by 69 Street SW and to the west by 101 Street SW. Springbank Hill is sometimes confused with the much older unincorporated rural community of Springbank, located to the west of the city in Rocky View County. The Springbank Hill area was once the eastern portion of Springbank. Springbank Hill was established in 1999, on land annexed to the City of Calgary in 1994. The community association was formed in 2001. The community of Springbank Hill is made up of numerous subdivisions, including Springborough, Summit of Montreux, Springbank Hill, The Slopes, Anatapi and Spring Valley. Springbank Hill is home to Ernest Manning High School, which commenced classes in September 2011, and Ambrose University College. The 69 Street station of the West LRT (which began operations on December 10, 2012), is also located in Springbank Hill.

Rundle College Primary/Elementary School is a private, co-ed, day school in Calgary, Alberta. The Primary/Elementary campus teaches students in Kindergarten to Grade 6, after which they can move to Rundle College Jr/Sr High School.

CJAQ-FM (96.9 MHz) is a Canadian radio station in Calgary, Alberta. The station uses the on-air brand name Jack 96.9. It is the second "Jack" station in Canada and the world, after its sister CJAX-FM in Vancouver. CJAQ's studios are located on 7th Avenue Southwest in downtown Calgary, while its transmitter is located on Patina Hill Drive Southwest in the Prominence Point neighbourhood in west Calgary. As of Winter 2020, CJAQ is the 8th-most-listened-to radio station in the Calgary market according to a PPM data report released by Numeris.

Calgary-West (formerly styled Calgary West from 1957 to 1971) is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, Canada. The electoral riding of Calgary West is one of the two original Calgary ridings of the seven that has survived from the 1959 Redistribution of the Calgary riding. The other riding is Calgary-Glenmore. This riding covers the central west portion of Calgary and contains the neighbourhoods of Cougar Ridge, Coach Hill, Strathcona, Signal Hill, Discovery Ridge, Springbank Hill, Strathcona, Aspen Woods, West Springs, Springhaven, Montreaux, Spring Hill, Richmond Hill, Wentworth, Patterson, Glamorgan, Glenbrook and Christie Park.

Ernest Manning High School is a public senior high school located in the City of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, south of the Bow River. The school falls under the jurisdiction of the Calgary Board of Education.

69 Street station is a CTrain light rail station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is the sixth and terminal station on the West LRT line. The station was opened for the public on December 8, 2012, as part of a preview of the new West Line with an opening ceremony for the line. Revenue service started on December 10, 2012.The trenched station is located at the intersection of 69 Street SW and 17 Avenue SW, 8.2 km West of the 7 Avenue & 9 Street SW Interlocking. Ambrose University College and the new Ernest Manning High School, which replaced the old one at 17 Avenue & 33 Street SW, due to the construction of the Westbrook station, are located adjacent to the 69 St. SW station. Another major school, Rundle College, is located a block away. The station is also near the Westside Recreation Centre. 69 Street along with 45 Street are the first trenched stations to be built in Calgary. The centre-loading platform is accessed at both the east and west ends through station heads providing access to the platform via escalator, stairs, and an elevator. The station includes a large Park & Ride lot that can accommodate 840 vehicles and it includes a multi-level parkade.The West Line is planned to be extended further west, past 69 Street SW, to Aspen Woods and Springbank Hill, once the population of those areas is sufficient for LRT. The extension is not expected to happen until after 2023, so 69 Street SW will be the terminus station until at least then. In its first year of service, 69 Street served an average of 10,590 boardings per day.

Aspen Woods is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, consisting mostly of acreages and single-family detached homes. Aspen Woods was established as a neighbourhood in 2001, on land annexed to the City of Calgary in 1956. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor.

Signal Hill is a community in Calgary, Alberta. It contains the residential neighbourhoods of Sienna Hills and Signal Ridge. It is bounded by Sarcee Trail to the east, 17th Ave to the north, Stoney Trail to the south and 69th St to the west. Battalion Park is established on the southern slopes of the hill and the shopping centres at Westhills Towne Centre, Signal Hill Centre, Westmarket Square and Signature Park Plaza serve the community. Located in the Signal Hill Centre area is a public library called Signal Hill, which serves the surrounding community.The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1956, and Signal Hill was established in 1986. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor Jeff Davison, on a provincial level by Calgary West MLA Mike Ellis, and at federal level by Calgary Signal Hill MP Ron Liepert.

Battalion Park is a geoglyph site in southwest Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is located on Signal Hill, overlooking the Tsuu T'ina Nation (formerly Sarcee Nation), as well as lands formerly known as Camp Sarcee and later Sarcee Training Area, a military reserve used by the Canadian Forces from before the First World War up until the 1990s. The park extends over an area of 93 hectares (230 acres), north of the Elbow River. Its heritage value is associated with its dedication to the heroic efforts of Albertan soldiers during the First World War. The site contains four geoglyphs formed of large, whitewashed stones, spelling out the numbers 137, 113, 151, and 51. The stones, totalling 16,000 in all, form the centrepiece of the park. Arranged on the side of the hill, and visible from various parts of the city, they represent the battalions numbered 137th, 113th, 151st, and 51st.

Wentworth is a small estate style community in southwest Calgary, Alberta. The unique features of Wentworth are its architectural treatment, tree coverage and ample green space. The community was developed between 2002 and 2008 and is home to under 1000 people. The community is composed of five units: Wentworth, The Willows of Wentworth, Wentworth Estates, Wexford Estates (now being built) and Wentworth Glen (under development). Wentworth is contained within the larger community area of West Springs. Wentworth was developed by Dundee developments except for the area of Wexford, which is being developed by the 7S Group. Springside is an area adjacent to Wentworth. Although not officially part of Wentworth, Springside contains many streets by the same name.

Christie Park is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by Strathcona Drive and the community of Strathcona Park to the north, Sarcee Trail to the east, 17 Avenue S to the south and 69 Street W to the west. The land was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1956 from the Municipal District of Rocky View. Christie Park was established as a neighbourhood in 1990. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor.
