Haydarpaşa is a neighborhood within the Kadıköy and Üsküdar districts on the Asian part of Istanbul, Turkey. Haydarpaşa is named after Ottoman Vizier Haydar Pasha. The place, on the coast of Sea of Marmara, borders to Harem in the northwest and Kadıköy in the southeast. It is a historical area with almost solely public buildings. Haydarpaşa is administered by the Mukhtars of Rasımpaşa and Osmanağa parishes (Turkish: Mahallesi Muhtarı). Internationally known structures around the area are the Haydarpaşa Terminal, Port of Haydarpaşa and the Selimiye Barracks in adjacent Harem.

Haydarpaşa station (Turkish: Haydarpaşa Garı) is a railway station in Istanbul. Until 2012 the station was a major intercity, regional and commuter rail hub as well as the busiest railway station in Turkey. Haydarpaşa, along with Sirkeci station (on the other side of the Bosphorus), are Istanbul's two intercity and commuter railway terminals. From 19 June 2013 to 2018, all train service to the station was suspended due to the rehabilitation of the existing line for the new Marmaray commuter rail line. The station building still houses the headquarters for District 1 of the State Railways. The station building, built in 1909 by the Anatolian Railway (CFOA) as the western terminus of the Baghdad and Hedjaz railways, has become a symbol of Istanbul and Turkey and is famous throughout the Middle East.Haydarpaşa is situated on an embankment over the Bosphorus just south of the Port of Haydarpaşa and is slightly north from central Kadıköy. Until the suspension of rail service, ferry service was available to Eminönü, Karaköy and Kadıköy from the station's ferry dock. The closure of the station has been subject to a lot of controversy. As it was unclear if Haydarpaşa would be re-opened to rail service once the Marmaray project was completed. Claims that the Turkish government was planning to sell the historic railway station along with the port and turn it into a residence/luxury resort surfaced. Following the closure, a publicly formed group known as The Haydarpaşa Solidarity (Turkish: Haydarpaşa Dayanışması) staged sit-ins every week in front of the station, protesting the closure. In December 2015, the integration of Haydarpaşa station into the Marmaray network was approved along with the restoration and rehabilitation of the station building and platforms. Ever since, Haydarpaşa was placed back on official railway maps for Istanbul.

Abdul Hamid II Monument or Haydarpaşa Breakwater, is a monument located on the breakwater opposite Istanbul Haydarpaşa railway station. The monument was built by the architect Alexander Vallaury in honor of the 25th anniversary of Abdul Hamid II's accession to the throne. The monument, made entirely of marble, was completed in 1902 and inaugurated on the 21st of September, Abdul Hamid II's birthday.

The Port of Haydarpaşa, also known as the Port of Haidar Pasha (Turkish: Haydarpaşa Limanı) is a general cargo seaport, ro-ro and container terminal, situated in Haydarpaşa, Istanbul, Turkey at the southern entrance to the Bosphorus. The port is operated by the Turkish State Railways (TCDD) and serves a hinterland which includes the country's most industrialized areas. It is the second-biggest port in the Marmara Region and with an annual cargo volume exceeding six million metric tons (MT), is Turkey's fourth-biggest port after Mersin, Ambarli and İzmit.

The Kadıköy İnciburnu Feneri (aka Kadıköy Feneri or İnciburnu Feneri) is a lighthouse located at the head of Kadıköy Harbor's İnciburnu Breakwater on the Anatolian coast of Bosporus' south entrance, in Kadıköy district of Istanbul, Turkey. It is across from the Ahırkapı Feneri, which is on the Rumelian coast of the strait at a distance of 1.5 nmi (2.8 km; 1.7 mi). A line connecting the two lighthouses marks the southern boundary of the Port of Istanbul.The lighthouse with a 11 m (36 ft) high tower is constructed in concrete and painted white. It went on October 13, 1977, in service.Kadıköy İnciburnu Feneri is equipped with a lantern of type Tideland ML-300 featuring a one-piece acrylic Fresnel lens of 300mm focal length. It is powered by solar energy producing 35 W.At a focal height of 14 m (46 ft), it flashes white 2 seconds long every 4 seconds, which is visible at a range of 13 nmi (24 km; 15 mi) in the Sea of Marmara.

Selimiye Barracks (Turkish: Selimiye Kışlası), also known as Scutari Barracks, is a Turkish Army barracks located in the Üsküdar district on the Asian part of Istanbul, Turkey. It was built first in 1800 by Sultan Selim III for the soldiers of the newly established Nizam-ı Cedid (literally "New Order") in frame of the Ottoman military reform efforts.

Kadıköy is the western terminal station on the M4 line of the Istanbul Metro. Located beneath Haydarpaşa Rıhtım Caddesi (Street) it is serviced by the M4 between 6:00 and 0:04. The station has two tracks serving an island platform. Kadıköy opened on 17 August 2012 along with fifteen other stations on the M4 line. The Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan along with the Mayor of Istanbul, Kadir Topbaş and other members of government inaugurated the line from Kadıköy and boarded a train to Kartal. Kadıköy harbor is right next to the stations entrances. Ferry service offered by the municipal ferry service, Şehir Hatları (City Lines), as well the private line operator, Turyol. İDO operates SeaBus ferry service to piers on the Marmara coast of the city. İETT has a large city bus hub next to the harbor and station and operates buses to many parts of the Asian side of Istanbul.

Kemal Atatürk Lisesi is a high school in Kadıköy, Istanbul, Turkey. Established as the Lycée Sainte-Euphémie in 1895, the high school was re-established in 1935 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 's order, and after renamed in his memory. The Kadıköy Ferry Terminal (Turkish: Kadıköy Feribot Terminali), also known as the Kadıköy İDO Terminal (Turkish: Kadıköy İDO Terminali), is a ferry terminal in Kadıköy, Istanbul, located near Damga Street on the Bosporus strait. It is one of four ferry landings within Kadıköy Harbor. İDO operates seabus ferries to Yenikapı, Bakırköy and Bostancı in Istanbul, as well as to destinations across the Marmara Sea. Kadıköy Terminal was opened in 1992, as part of the Metropolitan Municipality's expansion of the İDO system.

Hemdat Israel Synagogue is a synagogue founded in 1899 and located in the quarter of Haydarpaşa in Kadıköy, on the Asian side of Istanbul, Turkey. Visits and participation to prayers are possible after contacting the Chief Rabbinate.
