Calgary French & International School (CFIS) is a private French language immersion and International Baccalaureate school in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. All subjects are taught in French, except English and Spanish.According to the Fraser Institute Report Card on Alberta's Secondary and Elementary Schools 2019, CFIS achieved a top ranking of schools in Alberta. It is a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Associated School, as well as Round Square affiliated, and it is accredited by the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools.The $20 million 120,000 sq ft (11,000 m2) school facility was built in two phases, in 2003 and 2005. The two-story school facility includes 45 classrooms, two library/resource areas, two science labs, dedicated music rooms, dedicated art studios, an outdoor classroom,2 dedicated cafeterias, double-court regulation gyms, a junior-sized baseball diamond, a running track and soccer pitch, and two theatre-style classrooms, as well as a stage also acting as a gym for early childhood education.

Aspen Woods is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, consisting mostly of acreages and single-family detached homes. Aspen Woods was established as a neighbourhood in 2001, on land annexed to the City of Calgary in 1956. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 6 councillor.

Calgary West was a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1917 to 1953, and from 1979 to 2015. It was in the western part of the City of Calgary. The electoral district was originally created in 1914 from Calgary riding. It was abolished in 1952 with parts being transferred to Calgary North, Calgary South, Bow River and Red Deer ridings. It was re-created in 1976 from Calgary North, Calgary South, Calgary Centre, and Palliser ridings. It was abolished during the 2012 Canadian federal electoral redistribution into Calgary Signal Hill (58%), Calgary Rocky Ridge (25%), and Calgary Confederation (17%). From 1993 to 1997, Calgary West was represented by Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada from 2006 to 2015. Harper represented the nearby riding of Calgary Southwest as leader of the Opposition (from 2002) and prime minister (from 2006).

CJSW-FM is a campus radio station, broadcasting at 90.9 FM, from the University of Calgary, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. CJSW is a member of the National Campus and Community Radio Association and the University of Calgary Tri-Media Alliance in partnership with NUTV (the campus television station) and The Gauntlet (the campus newspaper). CJSW's studios are located in the MacEwan Student Centre on the University of Calgary campus, with its transmitter located at Old Banff Coach Road and 85 Street Southwest. CKWD's studios are located on 58th Avenue Southwest in Calgary, while its transmitter is located on Old Banff Coach Road. The station is owned and operated by Jim Pattison Group who also owns sister station CKCE-FM. Wentworth is a small estate style community in southwest Calgary, Alberta. The unique features of Wentworth are its architectural treatment, tree coverage and ample green space. The community was developed between 2002 and 2008 and is home to under 1000 people. The community is composed of five units: Wentworth, The Willows of Wentworth, Wentworth Estates, Wexford Estates (now being built) and Wentworth Glen (under development). Wentworth is contained within the larger community area of West Springs. Wentworth was developed by Dundee developments except for the area of Wexford, which is being developed by the 7S Group. Springside is an area adjacent to Wentworth. Although not officially part of Wentworth, Springside contains many streets by the same name.

69 Street station is a CTrain light rail station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is the sixth and terminal station on the West LRT line. The station was opened for the public on December 8, 2012, as part of a preview of the new West Line with an opening ceremony for the line. Revenue service started on December 10, 2012.The trenched station is located at the intersection of 69 Street SW and 17 Avenue SW, 8.2 km West of the 7 Avenue & 9 Street SW Interlocking. Ambrose University College and the new Ernest Manning High School, which replaced the old one at 17 Avenue & 33 Street SW, due to the construction of the Westbrook station, are located adjacent to the 69 St. SW station. Another major school, Rundle College, is located a block away. The station is also near the Westside Recreation Centre. 69 Street along with 45 Street are the first trenched stations to be built in Calgary. The centre-loading platform is accessed at both the east and west ends through station heads providing access to the platform via escalator, stairs, and an elevator. The station includes a large Park & Ride lot that can accommodate 840 vehicles and it includes a multi-level parkade.The West Line is planned to be extended further west, past 69 Street SW, to Aspen Woods and Springbank Hill, once the population of those areas is sufficient for LRT. The extension is not expected to happen until after 2023, so 69 Street SW will be the terminus station until at least then. In its first year of service, 69 Street served an average of 10,590 boardings per day.
