Woodman Junior High School is a major junior high school for S.W. Calgary, Alberta, Canada, accepting 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th graders. The school was built in 1959, and the current principal is Marlene Krickhan.

Our Lady of the Rockies High School is operated by the Calgary Catholic School District. It is a composite high school and one of the largest in Calgary, serving just over 1800 students in the communities of south Calgary, Alberta. It is located at 111 Haddon Road SW Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The school was originally named Bishop Grandin High School, after Bishop Vital-Justin Grandin. The Calgary Catholic School District decided to rename the school in June 2021 following the 2021 Canadian Indian residential schools gravesite discoveries, due to the role Bishop Grandin played in the creation of the indigenous residential school system. On 28 June 2021 the school was temporarily renamed Haysboro Catholic High School as new names were being considered.On October 6, 2021 Our Lady of the Rockies High School was the new permanent name chosen to replace Bishop Grandin High School. The program offerings include all of the academic disciplines, an Advanced Placement (A.P.) program, extensive art, drama, choir and music programs including an elite marching band, an Extended French program, an Integrated Occupation program, a Registered Apprentice program, International Languages, an Active Life Skills physical education program, and an extensive Career and Technology Studies program.

Southland Station is a CTrain light rail station in Southwood, Calgary, Alberta. It serves the South Line (Route 201) and opened on May 25, 1981, as part of the original line. The station is located on the exclusive LRT right of way (adjacent to CPR ROW), 9.5 km south of the City Hall interlocking at Southland Drive.The station consists of a center-loading platform with mezzanine access on the North end and grade-level access at the South end. 650 spaces are available for parking at the station. In 2005, the station registered an average transit of 10,500 boardings per weekday.On July 12, 2016, a flash flood occurred at Southland Park and Ride. This flash flood flooded with high water marks on some cars above the headlights of the cars causing water ingress into engines and car interiors.

It is bounded by Glenmore Trail to the north, Elbow Drive to the east, 14 Street W to the west and Heritage Drive to the south. Chinook Park was established in 1959. The complex is Calgary's largest suburban office park. The office park is listed by Cushman & Wakefield and managed by Canderal.

Southwood is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded by 98th Avenue (an alley north of Southland Drive) to the north, Macleod Trail to the east, Anderson Road to the south and 14th Street SW to the west. Southland Drive passes through the northern part of the community. A major roadway, Elbow Drive, bisects the community. The community is served by the Southland and Anderson stations of the C-Train LRT system. Southcentre Mall is located east from the neighbourhood. Southwood was established in 1960. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 11 councillor.

Heritage Station is a CTrain light rail station in Haysboro, Calgary, Alberta as part of the original South Line (Route 201) which opened on May 25, 1981. The station, with a large 557 space park-and-ride lot, is located on the exclusive LRT right of way (adjacent to CPR right-of-way), 7.9 km south of the City Hall Interlocking, west of Macleod Trail. The station consists of a center-loading platform with mezzanine access on the north end and an at-grade access at the south end. As part of Calgary Transit's plans to operate four-car trains by the end of 2014, all three-car stations were extended. Construction at Heritage Station to extend the platform to the South started on July 16, 2012, and the new extended platform and ramp access opened on December 10, 2012. South of the station, in "Haysboro Storage Facility" trains are stored. In 2005, the station registered an average transit of 13,600 boardings per weekday.

Calgary Southwest was a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1988 to 2015. The district was in the southwest part of the City of Calgary, south of Glenmore Trail and west of the Canadian Pacific Railway line. Former Prime Minister Stephen Harper represented the riding during his leadership.

Henry Wise Wood High School (HWW) is a public high school located in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. The school was built in 1961 and is named after Henry Wise Wood, an Alberta pioneer who was instrumental in forming the Alberta Wheat Pool and the United Farmers of Alberta. Wood is regarded as an influential individual in Canadian agricultural and farming history.Academically, the school offers the International Baccalaureate Programme (IB), and the Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE), in addition to the full range of academic programs standard to the province. The school also offers the Calgary Board of Education's Traditional Learning Centre program. The school is part of the Action for Bright Children Society. A unique option in the IB Programme that the school offers to students as an additional Group 3 subject is Philosophy 20/30 SL IB, which is made available bi-annually. Henry Wise Wood has a music program that includes a symphonic band, jazz band, and choir.

Anderson station is a CTrain light rail station in Southwood, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It serves the South Line (Route 201) and it opened on May 25, 1981, as part of the original line until October 8, 2001 as the southern terminus of Route 201. The station is located on the exclusive LRT right of way (adjacent to CPR ROW), 10.6 km south of the City Hall Interlocking. The station is located just north of Anderson Road west of Macleod Trail. The station is located across from Southcentre Mall, through a pedestrian bridge that crosses Macleod Trail. The station consists of a centre-loading platform with Mezzanine access at the South end and grade-level access at the North end. 1323 paved parking spaces are located on-site, as well as a 427 space overflow lot. Construction of the Anderson Station platform that was meant for 3 cars was expanded to accommodate 4 cars starting in June 2013, and was completed in the late fall of 2013.In January 2018, the south entrance to the Mezzanine level was closed as crews removed the entrance in preparation for renovations. On April 2, 2018, the Mezzanine level was closed to perform renovations. The grade-level entrance remained open, as well as the station itself while renovations are underway. Renovations were expected to be completed by October 2018 but due to soil and structural issues arising during construction, the completion date was extended to Spring of 2019 with construction being completed in June 2019. The Anderson Shops and Garage, where the CTrain vehicles are maintained, is located here. CTrains operating on the NE line had to come up from the Anderson Garage every morning from the opening of the NE line in 1985 until the Oliver Bowen Maintenance Facility opened with McKnight–Westwinds Station in 2008. In 2005, the station registered and average transit of 11,300 boardings per weekday.

Pump Hill is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is bounded to the north by 90th Avenue SW and the Glenmore Reservoir, to the east by 14 Street SW, to the south by Southland Drive and to the west by 19 Street SW. Pumphill was developed starting with 1967, when it was still incorporated in Palliser. It became a neighbourhood in its own right in 1991. It is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 11 councillor.

Eagle Ridge is an affluent residential neighbourhood situated on a peninsula in the Glenmore Reservoir in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The community is known for its unique proximity to green spaces and parks, recreational waterways, and Calgary's multi-use urban pathway system despite its relative proximity to the city's denser downtown core and adjoining communities. In 2014, Eagle Ridge was ranked the 18th wealthiest neighbourhood in Canada and 3rd wealthiest in Calgary. One of Calgary's smallest neighbourhoods by population, Eagle Ridge is physically secluded from other nearby communities due to the Glenmore Reservoir acting as natural boundary to its north, west, and south, while 14 Street W bounds the community to the east. Directly adjacent to Eagle Ridge is the Heritage Park Historical Village, which borders the community to the west on the banks of the reservoir. Other landmarks in the neighbourhood’s vicinity include the Heritage Marina beach, North Glenmore Park, the Glenmore Reservoir, Earl Grey Golf Club, Calgary Golf & Country Club, Glenmore Sailing Club, Calgary Rowing Club, the Elbow River, Weaslehead Flats, Rockyview General Hospital, the Glenmore Landing shopping area, and Chinook Centre. The community is represented in the Calgary City Council by the Ward 11 Councillor. It is represented in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta by the MLA for Calgary-Glenmore and in the House of Commons of Canada by the Member of Parliament for Calgary Heritage. At the neighbourhood level it is represented by the CKE Community Association (Chinook-Kelvin Grove-Eagle Ridge) and is therefore a member of the only tri-community in Calgary. Eagle Ridge is the westernmost, and, alongside adjacent communities Kelvin Grove, Chinook Park, and Kingsland, northernmost neighbourhood in the greater area/district collectively referred to as “Heritage”, of which a total of 10 communities are included.
