Woolverstone Hall School

Ipswich High School is a co-educational private school at Woolverstone Hall near Ipswich, England. Formerly an exclusive school for girls, it was converted to co-education in 2018 following acquisition by the China-oriented investment banker London & Oxford Group.

Woolverstone is a small village and civil parish in Suffolk, England located on the Shotley peninsula. It is situated about 6.4 km (4.0 mi) south of Ipswich, near the southern shore of the River Orwell. In 2005 it had a population of 240, increasing to 265 at the 2011 census.It is now home to the Ipswich High School, which moved to the vacated premises of the former Woolverstone Hall School in 1992 after having been well established in Ipswich since 1878. The Woolverstone Marina and the Royal Harwich Yacht Club are also located in the vicinity. HMS Woolverstone, a Royal Navy landing craft training and loading base, was housed in the school and used moorings in the River Orwell between 1943 and 1944.

Pin Mill is a hamlet on the south bank of the tidal River Orwell, on the outskirts of the village of Chelmondiston, on the Shotley peninsula in southern Suffolk. It lies within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a designated Conservation Area. It is now generally known for the historic Butt and Oyster public house, and for sailing.

Chelmondiston is a small village and civil parish in Suffolk, England located on the Shotley Peninsula, five miles south-east of Ipswich. The hamlet of Pin Mill lies within the parish on the south bank of the River Orwell. The village comprises approximately 500 dwellings and has a population of just over 1,000. It is one of the largest villages situated on the Shotley Peninsula.

Bridge Wood is a 31 hectare Local Nature Reserve on the southern outskirts of Ipswich in Suffolk, England. It is owned and managed by Ipswich Borough Council, and is part of Orwell Country Park.One theory about the name Bridge Wood is that it might refer to an old Roman crossing point known as a "bridge". An artificial band of shale can see at low tide near the present Orwell Bridge and this may have been crossable in the past.This site has been managed as woodland at least since 1600, and it has several ancient oaks. There are also areas of pine, which are being thinned to create a more mixed woodland.There is access from the Stour and Orwell Walk, which goes through the wood.

Alnesbourne Priory, also known as Alnesbourn Priory, was a small Augustinian monastic house in the English county of Suffolk. It was located near Nacton to the south-east of Ipswich near to the River Orwell and the current route of the A14. The priory was probably founded in the 13th century by Albert de Neville, possibly as a satellite of Woodbridge Priory. It was annexed by the monks of Woodbridge at some point in the 15th century, possibly 1466. The priory was "ruinous" by 1514, although remains of the priory church can be found in the walls of Alnesbourne Priory Country Club and form the basis for the listing of the building as a Grade II listed building.The priory was in the old parish of Hallowtree or Halghetree, the church of which formed part of its holding. The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 as a very small village with about four households (which was held by the church of Alnesbourn St Andrew before the Norman Conquest). One of these houses is likely to have been Pond Hall Farm. At the time of the survey the village was held by Roger of Poitou.Alnesbourn Priory was an extra-parochial area, it became a separate civil parish in 1858, on 1 April 1934 the parish was abolished and merged with Nacton, part also went to Ipswich. In 1931 the parish had a population of 36.

Freston Tower is a six-storey red brick folly south of Ipswich, Suffolk in the village of Freston. It stands on the banks of the River Orwell.

Ravenswood is a district within Ipswich, in the Ipswich district, in the county of Suffolk, England. It is sited on the old Ipswich Airport to the south-east of the town. The area has grown rapidly due to private housing development. The old airport building has been transformed into small flats, and part of the terminal has been redeveloped for commercial purposes. 1172 homes have been built on the site so far, with a few hundred more to be built in the coming years, along with a planned sports park. The estate is bound to the north by Nacton Road, bound to the west and south west by Gainsborough Sports Centre and the Orwell County Park. It is also bound to the south by the A14 and a disused airport access road.

Ipswich Airport (IATA: IPW, ICAO: EGSE) was an airfield on the outskirts of Ipswich, Suffolk England. It was known as RAF Nacton when No. 3619 Fighter Control Unit of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force were based there.

Ipswich Gymnastics Centre in Ipswich is one of only three fully London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) accredited gymnastics facilities in the United Kingdom and was used for training sessions in the run up to the 2004 Olympic Games by the Romanian gymnastics team.

Ransomes Industrial Estate, also known as Ransomes Europark is combined retail and business park located in Priory Heath Ward, Ipswich, on the southeastern edge of Ipswich in Suffolk, UK. It takes its name from Ransomes, Sims & Jefferies, which still maintains a presence on the park. Predominantly the park consists of light industrial and logistics companies, although there is a growing number of retailers and offices including the head office for KDM International and MSC UK. In February 2008 it was announced that IKEA are in talks to take on part of the estate occupied by Crane Fluid Systems for a new store.

Leighton Road Evangelical Church is a nonconformist independent evangelical church located on the Gainsborough estate, Ipswich in the English county of Suffolk. Gainsborough estate is an urban priority area council housing estate on the south east side of Ipswich. The church building was erected on land bought from Ipswich Borough Council in 1935. Of local interest is a large oak tree, around 400 years old, at the front of the church. Although the tree does not currently have a Tree Preservation Order on it, it is believed locally to have been used by 19th century Suffolk heroine Margaret Catchpole to harness her horse to, on occasions. The church consists on one main chapel building of the mid-1930s which has recently been extended at the back with a small Sunday school room and disabled toilet added. It is not currently a listed building. The church was previously known as Gainsborough Evangelical Free Church and Leighton Road Baptist Church, and is the only place of worship situated within the Gainsborough estate itself. The church has recently joined the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches. The current trustees of the church are FIEC Ltd. The church is governed as an independent Baptist church, with pastor and deacons. The current pastor is Brian Langston.
