Egelston Township is a general law township (known in other states as a civil township) of Muskegon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 11,128, up from 9,909 in 2010.

Wolf Lake is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Muskegon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. At the 2020 census, the population of Wolf Lake was 5,034, up from 4,104 in 2010. As an unincorporated community, Wolf Lake is governed by Egelston Township.

WSNX-FM (104.5 MHz "104-5 SNX") is a top 40 (CHR) radio station located in iHeartMedia's Grand Rapids, Michigan headquarters. The station is licensed to Muskegon, in Western Michigan with the station serving the Grand Rapids area, and is one of two top 40/CHR stations in Grand Rapids along with WHTS. The studios are located at 77 Monroe Center in Downtown Grand Rapids while its transmitter is located near Sherman Blvd and Ensley Rd outside of Muskegon.

Earnest C. Brooks Correctional Facility (LRF) is a Michigan prison, located in Muskegon, for adult male prisoners.

Muskegon Correctional Facility (MCF) is a prison of the Michigan Department of Corrections located in Muskegon, Michigan. The prison opened in 1974. Additional housing units opened since then to accommodate more prisoners.In 2010 the state of Michigan shut the prison down for two weeks to prepare for an arrival of prisoners from Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania had a contract with Michigan to house state prisoners in MCF, in order to alleviate overcrowding in the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. Over 1,100 Pennsylvania prisoners were housed at MCF. The John S. Hausman of the Muskegon Chronicle said that the Pennsylvania contract was expected to be about four or five years long.After the opening of additional state prisons in Pennsylvania was imminent, Pennsylvania withdrew its prisoners from MCF in 2011. Beginning in late April 2011, one group of about 240 prisoners was moved out of MCF each week. Wednesday, May 25, 2011, was the final day of operations, and the final "ride-out" of 239 Pennsylvania prisoners occurred on that day.After the 2011 shutdown, 200 job positions ended. Most employees of MCF accepted vacant positions in the prison system or took jobs that were held by other prison system employees with less seniority.The facility reopened in October 2012.

West Shoreline Correctional Facility (MTF) was a Michigan prison, located in Muskegon Heights, for adult male prisoners. It permanently closed on March 24, 2018, and has since been torn down.

Muskegon Charter Township is a charter township of Muskegon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 17,596 at the 2020 census. The city of Muskegon borders the township to the southwest and is administratively autonomous. The township was organized in 1837. The township claims to be the "oldest township in the State of Michigan", as it was the first township officially recognized in the newly created state of Michigan. However, many other townships were created earlier than Muskegon Township.

WVIB (100.1 FM, "V100") is a radio station broadcasting an urban adult contemporary format fed via satellite from Westwood One (known as "The Touch" or "Today's R&B and Old School"). The station is licensed to Holton, Michigan and serves the Muskegon market. It can be heard as far south as Allendale, Michigan, as far east as Lakeview, Michigan, and as far north as Ludington, Michigan. However, its range is limited by WBCH to the southeast and WSJP-FM to the west.

Cedar Creek Township is a civil township of Muskegon County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,192 at the 2020 census.
