Henlopen Acres, Delaware

Peter Marsh House, also known as The Homestead, is a historic home located in Henlopen Acres, just north of Rehoboth Beach, Sussex County, Delaware. The original house was built in the mid-18th century and consists of the 2+1⁄2-story, two-bay, main section and 1+1⁄2-story, three-bay kitchen wing. Attached to the kitchen wing is a one-story, one bay addition also dated to the mid 18th century, likely 1743. A two-story, two-bay addition with garage was added in the 20th century. The house is clad in cypress shingles. It was restored in the 1930s by Colonel Wilbur Corkran. It is owned by the Rehoboth Arts League, formerly by the University of Delaware.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

North Shores is an unincorporated community in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. North Shores is located along the Atlantic Ocean north of Henlopen Acres and Rehoboth Beach and south of Cape Henlopen State Park.North Shores is a residential community that consists of 192 single-family homes, 48 apartments, and 55 townhomes, along with 10 homes and 11 condominiums added to the original community. In addition to residences, North Shores is home to a Bath & Tennis Club that consists of a swimming pool, two tennis courts, a marina for 25 boats, and 2,200 feet (670 m) of private beach along the Atlantic Ocean. North Shores was established in 1956 by Daniel G. Anderson and J. Rodney King, who purchased the land to build the community.A private security service, which is owned by the town of Henlopen Acres, began in North Shores in 1996. North Shores shares the services and expense of this security service with Henlopen Acres. The security service, which patrols all of Henlopen Acres and North Shores, operates two vehicles.

During on-season, Rehoboth Beach's population expands to over 25,000 within the city limits and thousands more in the surrounding area in the summer.In 2011, the NRDC awarded Rehoboth Beach with a 5-Star rating in water quality. This award was given only to 12 other locations, one being neighboring Dewey Beach. Out of the 30 states with coastline, the Delaware Beaches ranked number one for water quality in 2011.

All Saints' Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at 18 Olive Avenue, Lewes and Rehoboth Hundred in Rehoboth Beach, Sussex County, Delaware. It was built in 1893 for the summer services of an Episcopal congregation. It is a one-story structure constructed of hand-molded brick, measuring 100 feet by 30 feet. It features board-and-batten wainscotting, fishscale shingled gable ends, ribbon windows, and a low-pitched gable roof in the Arts and Crafts style. The church was renovated after a fire in 1938. It is joined with St. George's Chapel, Lewes in the Episcopal Parish of All Saints’ Church & St. George's Chapel. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Woman's Christian Temperance Union Fountain is a historic temperance fountain located at Rehoboth Beach, Sussex County, Delaware. It was erected by the Woman's Christian Temperance Union in 1929 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Delaware branch of the organization. It measures six feet tall, three feet wide, and is constructed of granite.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Funland (Rehoboth Beach) is a small family owned amusement park in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. It has 19 rides as well as family style games, and an arcade. It is located right off the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. The park opened in 1939 as the Rehoboth Beach Sports Center. It was then purchased by the Faschnacht family in 1962, and was rebranded Funland. Today, it is still owned and operated by the Faschnacht family. Funland operates rides that opened with the park, the oldest being the Boats and the Fire Engines, both of which likely opened in 1946 or 1947. Funland was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and faced staffing shortages.

Silver Lake is part of a pair of freshwater lakes including Lake Comegys in Rehoboth, Sussex County, Delaware. The two lakes were formed by receding glaciers, and now serves as a bird refuge.

The Junction and Breakwater Trail is a 6-mile (9.7 km) long rail trail located on the southwestern side of Cape Henlopen State Park connecting Lewes and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, United States. It is the third rail trail built in Delaware and it is the longest in the state. It partially follows the former Pennsylvania Railroad Rehoboth Beach branch that once transported passengers to several Methodist resort camps along the Atlantic coast. The line was abandoned by the Penn Central in the early 1970s. The Junction and Breakwater Trail is named after the former railroad line between Lewes and Rehoboth in the mid-19th century. The first 3.6 miles (5.8 km) of the trail was opened in December 2003 after acquiring parcels and easements from private landowners. On June 4, 2007, an additional 2.4 miles (3.9 km) were added, extending the trail to Kings Highway in Lewes. Plans are being discussed to extend the trail further into town.The trail includes two bridges, including an 80-foot (24 m) long railroad bridge originally built in 1913 that crosses Holland Glade and provides views of coastal wetlands and of a World War II observation tower located on the coast. The trail consists of crushed stone with an average width of 12 feet (3.7 m).

Dodd Homestead was a historic home and farmstead located near Rehoboth Beach, Sussex County, Delaware. It was a modified L-shaped, wood-frame dwelling, the earliest portion of which dated to about 1830. The main house was a long, rectangular, two-story, single-pile structure in a vernacular Federal / Greek Revival style. It had a wing, that was originally one-story. but later raised to a full two stories, probably in the mid-19th century. There was also a two-story rear wing. The house was sheathed in hand-hewn cypress shingles and had stuccoed brick interior end chimneys. Contributing 19th century outbuildings included a low brick ash shed, milk house, wood shed, storage shed, a small shed-roofed poultry house, stable, barn, a large gable-roofed dairy barn, corn crib, and carriage house.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is listed on the Delaware Cultural and Historic Resources GIS system as demolished or destroyed.

The Lewes and Rehoboth Canal is a canal in Sussex County, Delaware, which connects the Broadkill River and the Delaware Bay to Rehoboth Bay. It forms a portion of the Intracoastal Waterway.

Cape Henlopen State Park is a Delaware state park on 5,193 acres (2,102 ha) on Cape Henlopen in Sussex County, Delaware, in the United States. William Penn made the beaches of Cape Henlopen one of the first public lands established in what has become the United States in 1682 with the declaration that Cape Henlopen would be for "the usage of the citizens of Lewes and Sussex County." Cape Henlopen State Park has a 24-hour and year-round fishing pier as well as campgrounds. The remainder of the park is only open from sunrise to sunset, and includes a bathhouse on the Atlantic Ocean, an area for surf-fishing, a disc golf course, and bicycle and walking paths. The beach at Herring Point is a popular surfing spot. The park is a stop on Delaware's Coastal Heritage Greenway.

Dewey Beach is an incorporated coastal town in eastern Sussex County, Delaware, United States. According to the 2010 census, the population of the town is 341, an increase of 13.3% over the previous decade. It is part of the rapidly growing Cape Region and lies within the Salisbury, Maryland-Delaware Metropolitan Statistical Area.
