Bridgewater, Connecticut

Bridgewater Center Historic District encompasses the traditional town center of Bridgewater, Connecticut. Centered at the junction of Main Street with Clapboard and Hat Shop Hill Roads, it developed in the early 19th century as a civic center, even before the town's 1856 incorporation from New Milford. The architecture of the center is largely reflective of the first half of the 19th century, including Greek Revival and Federal style buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Bridgewater is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the populated center of the town of Bridgewater, Litchfield County, Connecticut, United States. It is in the north-central part of the town, around the intersection of Connecticut Routes 133 (Main Street) and 867 (Clapboard Road). It includes the Bridgewater Center Historic District. Bridgewater was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.

The Frederick S. Sanford House is a historic house on Hat Shop Hill Road in Bridgewater, Connecticut. Probably built in the early 19th century, it was extensively altered later in that century, achieving an exterior Italianate form that is the finest in the town, and an interior exhibiting various stages of alteration. It was owned by Frederick and Glover Sanford, owners of a prominent local hat making factory. The property was listed on National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Mine Hills Preserve is a natural and historical conservation area on Mine Hills Road in northwestern Roxbury, Connecticut. Owned by the Roxbury Land Trust, it protects the site of a well-preserved 19th-century iron mine and furnace works. Several miles of trails provide access to abandoned quarry areas and the preserved remains of the iron works, whose uses are explained by informational panels. The preserve is open from dawn to dusk. The 360-acre (150 ha) preserve was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Lovers Leap State Park is a public recreation area on the Housatonic River in the town of New Milford, Litchfield County, Connecticut. The state park's 127 acres (51 ha) straddle the Housatonic Gorge near the intersection of Connecticut Route 67 and Connecticut Route 202. The park offers hiking to scenic and historic locations and is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The Lover's Leap Bridge is a wrought-iron lenticular truss bridge over the Housatonic River located in Lovers Leap State Park in New Milford, Connecticut. Built in 1895 by the Berlin Iron Bridge Company, it is one of the last bridges built by the company and is a particularly ornate example of its work. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and is now open only for foot traffic.

The Still River is a 25.4-mile-long (40.9 km) tributary to the Housatonic River in western Connecticut.

Brookfield High School is a public high school serving the town of Brookfield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. The school offers a wide variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, and is frequently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top high schools in Connecticut and the United States. Brookfield is one of the twenty-one school districts in District Reference Group B.In the 2012–2013 school year the school had 918 students. The ethnic makeup of the student body is approximately 97% Caucasian, 0.9% Black, 0.6% Asian, and 1.8% Hispanic.

Brookfield Craft Center, located in Brookfield, Connecticut, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, founded in 1954 with the mission "to teach and preserve the skills of fine craftsmanship and enable creativity and personal growth through craft education." Subjects taught at the craft center include basketry, beadwork, blacksmithing, bladesmithing, ceramics, glass, jewelry making, metalsmithing, fiber and weaving, woodturning, woodworking, photography, paper and book arts, decorative arts, painting and drawing, and business / marketing for artists. Its 2.5-acre (1.0 ha) campus is located 6 miles (9.7 km) north of Danbury, Connecticut, on the banks of the Still River, with an historic mill building as its centerpiece. Its six buildings house seven fully equipped studios, an exhibition gallery, a retail craft gallery and gift shop, and housing for visiting faculty.

The Brookfield Theatre for the Arts is a theater located in the historic Curtis School for Boys gymnasium building in Brookfield, Connecticut, located within the Brookfield Center Historic District. The theater has a capacity of 135 people and hosts a variety of entertainment events such as films, plays, and musical performances.Every year five community productions are chosen and each run for months at a time. Additional workshops and special events are added throughout the year, such as the Brookfield Film Festival which is held by the Brookfield Arts Commission. The festival lasts three days, and screens short and foreign films.
