Memorial High School (West New York, New Jersey)

Saint Joseph of the Palisades High School was a private, Roman Catholic high school in West New York, in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. It was located within the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 291 students and 19.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.0. On February 27, 2009, it was announced the school would close at the end of the 2008-09 school year due to dwindling enrollment.

West New York School District is a public school district serving students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in West New York, in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. The district is one of 31 former Abbott districts statewide that were established pursuant to the decision by the New Jersey Supreme Court in Abbott v. Burke which are now referred to as "SDA Districts" based on the requirement for the state to cover all costs for school building and renovation projects in these districts under the supervision of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority. As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprised of nine schools, had an enrollment of 8,498 students and 595.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.3:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "A", the lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

Boulevard East (officially John F. Kennedy Boulevard East, and sometimes referred to as JFK Boulevard East) is a two-way, mostly two lane, scenic county road in the North Hudson, New Jersey municipalities of Weehawken, West New York, Guttenberg and North Bergen. Apart from small sections at either end, the road runs along the crest of the Hudson Palisades, affording it views of the Hudson River and the New York City skyline. Developed at the turn of the 20th century, the residential road is characterized by an eclectic mix of 20th-century architecture, including private homes as well as mid and high-rise apartment buildings, mostly on its western side, with a promenade and parks along its eastern side. It is also the setting for Edward Hopper's 1934 painting East Wind Over Weehawken, which is considered one of his best works.

Union Township ("Town of Union") was incorporated as a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 28, 1861, from portions of North Bergen Township.Portions of the township were taken on March 29, 1864, to form the town Union Hill, which became part of Union City in 1925. A portion of Union Township was annexed by Guttenberg in 1878.On July 5, 1898, the residents of the remaining portions of Union Township passed a referendum to incorporate the town of West New York, which became effective as of July 8, 1898; With the creation of West New York, Union Township was dissolved.Two other municipalities in New Jersey are currently named Union Township. One is in Hunterdon County and the other is in Union County.

The Port Imperial Street Circuit was a 2011 plan for a 3.2 mi (5.1 km) motor racing circuit in Weehawken and West New York, New Jersey, in the United States, to be constructed on the Hudson Waterfront around Weehawken Port Imperial.

Weehawken Port Imperial is an intermodal transit hub on the Weehawken, New Jersey, waterfront of the Hudson River across from Midtown Manhattan, served by New York Waterway ferries and buses, Hudson–Bergen Light Rail, and NJT buses. The district lies under and at the foot of Pershing Road, a thoroughfare traveling along the face of the Hudson Palisades, which rise to its west. The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway runs along the shoreline and is abutted by recently constructed residential neighborhoods, Lincoln Harbor to the south and Bulls Ferry to the north.

The Swaminarayan Mandir in Weehawken, New Jersey is the first Swaminarayan temple of the Narnarayan Gadi in the United States. It is the national headquarters of the ISSO and comes under the NarNarayan Dev Gadi of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. Today there are four Swaminarayan temples in New Jersey alone.

Pershing Road is a road located entirely in Weehawken, New Jersey that travels for 0.42 miles (0.68 km) on the Hudson Palisades between Boulevard East and Weehawken Port Imperial, and carries the designation Hudson County Route 682. At County Route 505 (Boulevard East), the road meets 48th Street (County Route 684), one of the very few two-way streets in the urban grid of North Hudson, which travels west to Bergenline Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard. It is named for World War I hero John J. Pershing. Earlier names have included Clifton Road, named for the estate on whose land it was located, and Hillside Road, which would speak to its location. Pershing Road, like the Hackensack Plank Road and the Paterson Plank Road, provides access between the Hudson River waterfront and the top of the cliffs and ascends parallel to the face of the escarpment. Between 1892 and 1949, street cars, initially operated by the North Hudson Railway Company, and later the Public Service Railway lines 19 Union City, 21 West New York, 23 Palisade, 25 Weehawken ran along the road to the Weehawken Terminal, where ferries traversing the river to Manhattan departed. From 1913 until the 1927 opening of the Holland Tunnel, Pershing Road was a component of the Lincoln Highway, the first transcontinental highway in the United States. The bridge at the foot of the road, comprising jack arches, was built in 1927, originally crossing over the West Shore Railroad, later Conrail's River Line, and now the Hudson Bergen Light Rail. A broad public stairway known as the Grauert Causeway met the road at the base of the cliff at a viaduct crossing over a rail right of way. Now abandoned, it has been replaced by a metal stairwell structure which connects to the Port Imperial station. Pershing Road Park along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway is near the foot of the road. The road was proposed as part of the Port Imperial Street Circuit of the Grand Prix of America.The foot of the road is the Hudson Riverfront 9/11 Memorial, Weehawken's memorial to the September 11 attacks, which was completed in September 2011.

The Excelsior Engine Co. No. 2 Firehouse is a historic former fire station built in 1897 and located at 6106 Polk Street in the town of West New York in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. It was later known as the Exempt Firemen Association Headquarters. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 12, 2022, for its significance in architecture and social history. It was listed in 2017 as one of the state's 10 most endangered historic places by Preservation New Jersey.

Bergenline Avenue is a station on the Hudson–Bergen Light Rail (HBLR). The intermodal facility is located on 49th Street between Bergenline Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard in Union City, New Jersey, near its border with West New York and North Bergen. The station is the first and only completely underground station on the network and opened for service on February 25, 2006.
