Bravo! Vail is an annual classical music festival held in Vail, Colorado. Its current artistic director is Anne-Marie McDermott.

The Betty Ford Alpine Gardens are one of the world's highest botanical gardens, located at 522 S Frontage Road E, Vail, Colorado, United States, at an 8,200 feet (2,500 m) altitude in the Rocky Mountains. The Gardens mission is "to protect the alpine environment through education, conservation and living plant collections". They offer programming such as rotating exhibits, garden tours, workshops, expert speakers, plant sale, yoga and more. The Gardens were founded by Vail and Denver horticulturists in 1985, with subsequent planting of the Alpine Display Garden (1987), Mountain Perennial Garden (1989), Mountain Meditation Garden (1991), and the Alpine Rock Garden (1999) with its stunning 120-foot waterfall. Other gardens include the Silk Road Garden and Children's Garden. Together these gardens contain about 2,000 varieties of plants, including over 500 different varieties of wildflowers and alpine plants. The gardens were named in honour of first lady Betty Ford in 1988.In 2020, along with Denver Botanic Gardens, the Gardens published the North American Botanic Garden Strategy for Alpine Plant Conservation and began implementing its principles. The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1989 were held February 2–12 in the United States at Vail, Colorado. Outside of the Winter Olympics of 1960 and 1980, the alpine world championships returned to the U.S. for the first time since 1950, which were also in Colorado at Aspen. Vail's first championship served to re-introduce Colorado to a European audience, with coverage of the events broadcast during prime time due to the difference in time zones. The championship was marked by the death of the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee Alfonso, Duke of Anjou and Cádiz, who was beheaded by a cable which he collided with as it was being raised to support a finish line banner.Vail and Beaver Creek later hosted the World Championships a decade later, in 1999, and again in 2015.

Vail Ski Resort is a ski resort in the western United States, located near the town of Vail in Eagle County, Colorado. At 5,289 acres (8.3 sq mi; 21.4 km2), it is the third-largest single-mountain ski resort in the U.S., behind Big Sky and Park City, featuring seven bowls and intermediate gladed terrain in Blue Sky Basin. Opened in late 1962, Vail is one of 37 mountain resorts owned and operated by Vail Resorts, which also operates three other nearby ski resorts (Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone).Vail Mountain has three sections: The Front-Side, Blue Sky Basin, and the Back Bowls. Most of the resort is wide open terrain with all types of trails. There are cruising runs accessible from most front side and Blue Sky Basin lifts, as well as the wide open Back Bowls, glades, and chutes. Vail Health Hospital is a regional hospital in Vail, Colorado, in Eagle County. Originally established as a small clinic in 1965, the hospital now has 56 beds. The hospital is a Level III trauma center.

The Vail Film Festival is an independent film festival that has taken place annually in Vail, Colorado since 2004. The 20th annual Vail Film Festival will take place from December 7 to 10, 2023.The festival was founded by Sean Cross and Scott Cross. The Cross brothers serve as co-executive directors of the festival, with Corinne Hara serving as festival director since 2018. The festival is produced by the Colorado Film Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting independent film.The Vail Film Festival is the sister festival of the Los Cabos International Film Festival, also co-founded by Scott Cross, and Sean Cross.

Vail Mountain School (VMS) is an independent K -12 college preparatory school in Vail, Colorado. VMS is accredited by the Association of Colorado Independent Schools and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools. Its curriculum includes fine art, music, performing arts, and a physical training program.

Blue Sky Basin is the most recent expansion to Vail Ski Resort in Colorado in the United States. It is the most debated and controversial ski area expansion in Colorado history. It opened to skiers in 2000 despite conflict about whether the expansion would endanger the lynx, a mountain cat re-introduced into the Colorado wilds. In response, the largest eco-terrorist attack in the United States occurred at Vail in 1998 - a $12 million incident involving several Vail facilities, including the destruction of the Two Elk restaurant. Authorities believe it was planned by William C. Rodgers and other environmental activists. The FBI launched Operation Backfire, which eventually led to convictions of the arsonists. The incident created sympathy for the resort, if not necessarily for Blue Sky Basin or the corporate owner, Vail Resorts. The Basin opened on 6 January 2000 with three high-speed quad chairlifts, an extra 525 acres (2.12 km2) added to Vail's already enormous size — over 5,000 acres (20 km2). Blue Sky Basin offers a more natural ski experience down its 1,900-foot (580 m) vertical drop, with mostly meadows and glades, rather than wide, clear-cut runs.
