San Joaquin Hills, Newport Beach

San Joaquin Hills is a guard-gated planned community in the city of Laguna Niguel, California in the San Joaquin Hills of Orange County, California. The community is set in the northernmost foothills of the city of Laguna Niguel, and construction began in 1997 after a 1994 approval from the city council to construct the development. It is composed of four community subdivisions, or enclaves of smaller subdivisional units. Each neighborhood within San Joaquin Hills has about 250 homes within its limits, and parks, as well as a community recreation and pool. There are a total of 910 homes in the development, and an estimated population of around 2,750 residents. It maintains its own Community Association, which maintains all the community centers and pools, as well as the landscaping. There are two entrances into the development from two separate gates. Its general boundaries begin at the Moulton Parkway and Aliso Creek Road intersection. There is an eponymous San Joaquin Hills neighbourhood in Newport Beach to the west of the hills.

It was a separate census-designated place in Orange County, California, United States, until 2001, when it was annexed into Newport Beach. Newport Beach, California's estimated population is 86,160 according to the most recent United States census estimates. Newport Beach, California is the 96th largest city in California based on official 2017 estimates from the US Census Bureau. The master-planned community was developed by the Irvine Company. There are a variety of home types in the community, from small studio apartments to ocean view mansions.

Pacific View Memorial Park is a cemetery located in the Corona del Mar neighborhood of Newport Beach, in Orange County, California. It first opened in 1958, and is known as the final resting place of Academy Award winning actor John Wayne and basketball player Kobe Bryant.

Mariners Church is a non-denominational, Christian megachurch located in Irvine, California, situated in central Orange County. It is the 2nd largest church building in California, and as of 2016 was the 17th largest church in the United States by number of attendees. Through its period of rapid growth, the main personality behind the church was Kenton Bashore. The son of a pastor in La Cañada Flintridge, California, Bashore received his undergraduate and graduate educations at Biola University. He came to Mariners as a college pastor in 1978. Eric Geiger has been senior pastor since 2018.

Vista Verde School is a year-round, K-8 school located in the Turtle Ridge neighborhood of Irvine, California, United States. Vista Verde belongs to the Irvine Unified School District but is not a neighborhood school; rather, it is open to all Irvine residents with a preference for Turtle Ridge residents, and is one of four year-round schools in the Irvine district.

The Newport Beach California Temple is the 122nd temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The temple was announced on April 21, 2001 and dedicated by Gordon B. Hinckley on August 28, 2005. At the time of its dedication, it was the sixth operating temple in California. Prior to the dedication, 175,000 people attended an open house to tour the building. The open house was disrupted by a small group of protesters who carried signs reading "Mormon Lies Found Here" and "Jesus Warned Against False Prophets" and urged people not to enter. The temple was built to serve the 50,000 Latter-day Saints in Orange County at the time.Similar to the Redlands California Temple, it uses interior and exterior architectural themes consistent with what was used in the Spanish missions of the early Western US and Mexico. The interior includes murals of the California coast.In response to opposition from residents of the surrounding community, the LDS Church made several modifications to the original design. The exterior was changed from white marble or granite to a more pink granite, considered more appropriate for Orange County. The steeple was lowered from 124 feet (38 m) to 90 feet (27 m), and the exterior lighting is turned off each night at 11 o'clock (unlike most temples, which are lit throughout the night). The temple is topped by a cupola holding the traditional statue of the angel Moroni. As with many contemporary LDS temples, the Newport Beach California Temple is built on the grounds of an existing stake center and shares parking with it. The temple has a total of 17,800 square feet (1,650 m2), two ordinance rooms, and three sealing rooms. It is located on an 8.8-acre campus.The temple is located in eastern Newport Beach, on Bonita Canyon Road, at Prairie Drive, near California State Route 73.

Tarbut V'Torah Community Day School (TVT) is a private Jewish non-denominational Community Day School located in southern Irvine, California, in northern Orange County. The school is divided into separate sections: the Lower School serves grades TK-5, and the Upper School serves grades 6-12. The schools are located on its 21.5-acre (87,000 m2) campus that was donated by the Samueli family and other donors. The school has been recognized as a Blue Ribbon School.

Signal Peak is the highest point in the San Joaquin Hills area of Orange County, California, United States. Its elevation is 1,164 feet (355 m). The peak is visible in the southern sky in most of north Orange County, and from far southern Los Angeles County. Signal Peak overlooks the University of California, Irvine, to the north and Crystal Cove State Park to the south and southeast. It is the first and highest peak that one encounters traveling southbound on State Route 73. It is a major two-way radio site for Orange County. Signal Peak also serves as a visual reporting checkpoint for incoming private aircraft from the south, inbound to land at John Wayne Airport.

The station is also heard on FM translator K220FR (91.9 FM) in Thousand Oaks, California.KYZA is a non-commercial FM radio station that is licensed to Adelanto, California and serves the Victor Valley area on the 92.7 MHz frequency. Together, the three stations constitute a trimulcast of rimshot signals that covers the Greater Los Angeles area with a city-grade signal; this is accomplished by transmitting from outlying areas of the Los Angeles metropolitan region. All stations are owned by Educational Media Foundation and broadcast the nationally syndicated Christian worship music network Air1.

University Hills is a housing development on the campus of the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in southern Irvine, California, United States, consisting of 1226 for-sale homes and 384 rental units. University Hills was developed by the Irvine Campus Housing Authority, a not-for-profit corporation under the control of the university. UC Irvine developed the area as "a way to compensate for high Orange County housing costs that can keep a recruit from accepting a job at the university."The land in University Hills is owned by the University of California and leased to homeowners; terms in the lease limit home ownership to university employees and restrict resale prices so that the homes remain affordable. Approximately 2/3 of the UCI faculty live in this neighborhood.
