Covina station is a Metrolink train station located at 600 North Citrus Avenue in Covina, California. It is located just east of Citrus Avenue between Front Street and Edna Place. Covina station is served by 36 Metrolink San Bernardino Line trains (18 in each direction) each weekday, running primarily at peak hours in the peak direction of travel. This station is also served by an express train that operates once in each direction on weekdays. Weekend service consists of 16 trains (8 in each direction) on both Saturday and Sunday, evenly spaced throughout the day.The station is owned by the City of Covina. It is one of the few Metrolink stations that charges for parking (on weekdays only, for parking is free on the weekends). The small lot near the platforms requires a monthly permit. The parking structure across Citrus Avenue has lower monthly rates and allows daily parking. There is a discount for Covina residents purchasing monthly parking permits.

The Covina massacre was a mass murder carried out on Christmas Eve, 2008, by a disgruntled ex-husband in Los Angeles County, California, United States. Bruce Jeffrey Pardo, 45, wearing a Santa suit, entered a property belonging to his former in-laws in Covina and killed nine people by shooting or by arson from the fire he started. Pardo was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot at his brother's residence in the early hours of Christmas Day. Police speculated that Pardo's divorce, which had been finalized only one week before the killings, was a factor in why Pardo had decided to kill his ex-wife and her relatives.

Eastland Center, formerly Westfield Eastland/Eastland Shopping Center, is a shopping center in West Covina, California, currently managed by Pine Tree, LLC.Westfield America, Inc., a precursor to Westfield Group, acquired the shopping center in 1998 and renamed it "Westfield Shoppingtown Eastland", dropping the "Shoppingtown" name in June 2005. Once a fashionable department store-anchored regional shopping mall, in 1997 it was converted to a power center as the nearby Plaza at West Covina became the dominant area center. It was once anchored by a five-story May Company department store, where the Target now stands. Uniquely, the power center is two levels, with parking for the lower level on the south side of the center and parking for the upper level on the north side. Corridors connect both the upper and lower levels.

It is located in the City of Covina, California, in the San Gabriel Valley east of Los Angeles. The school serves 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th graders from the communities of Covina, Azusa and Glendora. Enrollment in 2016-17 was 1,566. Charter Oak High School, which opened in 1959, is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.Charter Oak High School was named a California Distinguished School in 1996 and 2007 and a 2015 Gold Ribbon School.The school also was named one of the top 1,500 high schools in the country by Newsweek magazine in 2009.

Charter Oak is a census-designated place (CDP) in Los Angeles County, California, approximately 26 miles (42 km) east of downtown Los Angeles. The population was 9,310 at the 2010 census, up from 9,027 at the 2000 census. Charter Oak is located in the eastern San Gabriel Valley, situated along Arrow Highway in between Covina to the south, Glendora to the north and San Dimas to the east. Residents tend to refer to the CDP portion as the "unincorporated part of Covina", or simply as "Covina". Originally a small agricultural town (primarily citrus orchards) centered on the intersection of Arrow Highway and Bonnie Cove Avenue, population growth greatly expanded the area recognized as "Charter Oak". Since the 1960s, it has been known as a "bedroom community" suburb of Los Angeles and commercial agriculture is nearly gone. Today, the generally accepted boundaries of historical Charter Oak are I-210 to the north, Valley Center Avenue to the east, Covina Hills Road to the south and Grand Avenue to the west, corresponding to the boundaries of Charter Oak Unified School District. However, the actual CDP area is notably smaller in the present day.

Covina High School, commonly known as Covina High or CHS to the students, is a public high school located in Covina, California. Covina High School is one of three comprehensive high schools within the Covina-Valley Unified School District. Established in 1897, Covina High is the first and oldest high school in the school district and is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges. There were approximately 1,650 students enrolled for the 2010–11 school year. Covina High School is one of the oldest establishments in Covina. Its original campus, Covina Union High School, was located off of S. Citrus Ave and W. Puente St. and was opened in 1897, just a few years before Covina became an incorporated city. In 1956, Covina High School moved to its current location on Hollenbeck Ave. and was open for classes in 1957.The teaching staff includes fifty-six regular education teachers and six special education teachers. Additional personnel include the school principal, two assistant principal, a student activities director, three counselors, and two library clerks. The school's mascot is the colt. The school colors are cardinal and white. The school's rival is Northview High School.

It is located in the San Gabriel Valley between Azusa to the north and west, Glendora to the east, and Covina to the south. The population was 10,866 at the 2010 census, up from 10,581 at the 2000 census. Citrus is named after Citrus Avenue, which passes through the community.

South Hills High School, often known by its abbreviation SHHS, is a public high school located in the hills of the eastern part of West Covina, California. There is a common misconception that it is in Covina, most likely due to the fact that the school is in the Covina-Valley Unified School District rather than the West Covina Unified School District. South Hills opened in the fall of 1964.

Established in 1959, the school is located on 43 acres (170,000 m2) of land that is landscaped with trees, shrubs, and grass. Northview High School serves the cities of Covina and Irwindale.
