Maumelle, Arkansas

The Maumelle Ordnance Works Bunker No. 4 is a historic munitions storage facility at 4 Willastein Drive in Maumelle, Arkansas. It is a concrete structure, 61 by 27 feet (18.6 m × 8.2 m), with a rounded roof and ventilation stack. It is covered with earth, with a trapezoidal concrete side wall exposed, which has a steel door at its center. The bunker was built in 1941–42 to store the explosives picric acid and ammonium picrate for use during World War II. Of 21 built in Maumelle, all but three have been demolished, and this is the only one that is entirely intact.The bunker was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Academics Plus Charter Schools (APCS) is an open-enrollment public charter school system in the Little Rock metropolitan area, United States; the Academics Plus Charter School District maintains its headquarters in Maumelle. It consists of three schools: Scott Charter School in Scott, Maumelle Charter Elementary School in Maumelle, and Maumelle Charter High School in Maumelle. Academics Plus was chartered in 2001 as the first charter school in Arkansas. The charter was renewed in 2003 and 2007. The Arkansas Department of Education classifies the school system as a school district.

The Pyeatte-Mason Cemetery is a small historic cemetery at the junction of Waterside and Lily Streets on the west side of Maumelle, Arkansas. It occupies a small wooded lot, and has ten marked graves. It contains graves of some of Pulaski County's earliest settlers, the Pyeatte and Carnahan families. They settled this area in 1812, calling it Crystal Hill. The only dated graves in the cemetery are marked 1818 and 1883. They were led by the brothers James Pyeatt, a farmer, and Jacob Pyeatt, who operated a ferry on the Arkansas River. The first Protestant services held in Arkansas were conducted in 1812 in the home of James Pyeatt by the Reverend John Carnahan of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The original settlement, called Pyeattstown, grew to 150 people by 1819. Pyeatte township was formed in 1823. James Pyeatt died in 1833 and was buried near his land in a small cemetery that is now near the Maumelle Country Club's golf course. The township of Maumelle was formed in 1842. It was composed of two sections: Little Maumelle and Big Maumelle.The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Maumelle High School is a public secondary school located in Maumelle, Arkansas, United States, for students in grades nine through twelve. Maumelle is one of four high schools administered by the Pulaski County Special School District and is fed into by Maumelle Middle School. In addition to Maumelle it serves Crystal Hill.

Marche (sometimes also called Warren) is an unincorporated community in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. It lies 12 miles (19 km) north of Little Rock. It is not a census-designated place.

The U.S. State of Arkansas currently has 27 statistical areas that have been delineated by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). On March 6, 2020, the OMB delineated four combined statistical areas, eight metropolitan statistical areas, and 15 micropolitan statistical areas in Arkansas.

Pankey is a formerly unincorporated community in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States on Arkansas Highway 10. Historically, it was located west of Little Rock, but has since been annexed by the city.

The Palarm Bayou Pioneer Cemetery is a historic cemetery in a rural-suburban area of northern Pulaski County, Arkansas. It is located northwest of Maumelle, between the Arkansas River Trail (Arkansas Highway 365) and Palarm Creek, on a rise that is now part of the gated Mountain Crest residential subdivision. The small cemetery, with just ten marked graves, stands at the top of a rise north of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Nine of the graves are surrounded by a low stone wall, while one is set outside that enclosure, surrounded by a wrought iron fence. The oldest of the marked graves is that of Daniel Wilson, who died in 1837. The cemetery is probably one of the county's oldest.The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Pinnacle Valley is the northwesternmost neighborhood of the city of Little Rock, Arkansas. The area is to the south of Pinnacle Mountain, one of the highest elevations in Pulaski County. Like Chenal Valley which borders the area on its south side, Pinnacle Valley is a fast-developing portion of Little Rock as the city continues to expand westward. The neighborhood is anchored by Arkansas Highway 10 (which is officially signed as Cantrell Road on the portions that are inside Little Rock corporate limits), although most in the area refer to the path located west of an intersection with Interstate 430 simply as Highway 10. Minor developed areas including Pleasant Ridge and Walton Heights buffer Pinnacle Valley from the interstate on its eastern side. To the west and other directions lie unincorporated areas of Pulaski County. Development of Pinnacle Valley's commercial corridor along Highway 10 has increased specifically since 2000, with new office complexes and retail centers still under construction by the spring of 2006. Juxtaposed with the new construction is a small number of existing homes from years prior to the area's annexation into Little Rock's city limits, including the formerly unincorporated community of Pankey. The area, which includes the Little Maumelle River, was subject to a major flood when the Arkansas River crested at 29.71 feet (nearly seven feet above flood stage) on the early morning of June 5, 2019. This is the fourth highest recorded level. The Ranch, a western portion of the neighborhood that adjoins the highway to the north, is the site of small family home development and major employers including a customer service call center for AT&T Mobility (the wireless operations of AT&T Inc. formerly named Cingular Wireless) and headquarters for the craft-instruction guide publisher Leisure Arts, which has many products affiliated with the Time, Inc. subsidiary of Time Warner.

Central Arkansas Christian Schools (CAC) is a group of three private schools based in North Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. CAC was established in 1971 at Sylvan Hills Church of Christ in Sherwood, Arkansas. Because of its foundation date, the school has been categorized as a segregation academy although enrollment records indicate black students were enrolled in the school as early as 1974. The Central Arkansas Christian School system includes a combination middle and high school campus in North Little Rock and two elementary schools: a campus in Pleasant Valley/Little Rock and a campus in North Little Rock. Together, they composed the state's fourth-largest combined private school for the 2018-19 school year. The schools are "affiliated" with (but not operated or owned by) the Churches of Christ and are members of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

The Arkansas River Trail is a rail trail that runs 17 miles (27 km) in along both sides of the Arkansas River in Central Arkansas.

The Thomas Gray House is a historic house at 25 River Valley Road in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a single-story masonry structure, finished in fieldstone and vertical cedar siding and covered by a gable-on-hip roof. A contemporaneous detached carport with a similar roof stands near the house. The house was designed by Thomas Gray, an architect at the prominent Little Rock firm Wittenberg, Delony & Davidson, as his family's residence. It is a locally significant example of the Organic architecture movement.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.
