Farm No. 266—Johnny Cash Boyhood Home was the home of singer-songwriter Johnny Cash from 1935 to 1950. Cash moved with his family to a rural community in Mississippi County, Arkansas. The farm house was built in 1934 in a government project to help boost the economy. The Cash family joined the community in March 1935. Ray and Carrie Cash moved to Arkansas when they took an offer to farm government land for poor and impoverished farmers. The Cash family went through many hardships while living in the farm house by floods and losing one of their children, Jack Cash. Growing up picking cotton and working on the farm influenced some of Johnny Cash's songs in the future, one of them being "Pickin' Time." In 2018, the home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Rivercrest High School is a comprehensive public high school located in unincorporated Mississippi County, Arkansas, United States, with a Wilson postal address. It is the only high school administered by the Rivercrest School District (formerly the Southern Mississippi County School District) and houses the district's administrative offices. It is one of six public high schools in Mississippi County. The school provides secondary education in grades 7 through 12 to students in the municipalities of Wilson, Bassett, Birdsong, Dyess, Joiner, Keiser, Luxora, Marie, and Victoria. It also includes a portion of Osceola and a small portion of Etowah. Additionally several unincorporated areas are on the map: Driver, and Frenchmans Bayou.

The Old Turrell City Hall is a historic government building at 160 Eureka Street in Turrell, Arkansas. Built c. 1955, it is a classic example of a Quonset Hut, a form popularized during World War II for military uses. It has corrugated metal walls and ceiling, and is set on a concrete foundation. Its main facade, in one of the vertical ends, has a centrally-positioned garage door, with a sash window to the left, and a pedestrian entrance to the right. The building was used as city hall until 1968, when the present hall was built.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Wapanocca National Wildlife Refuge is a 5,484 acre (22 km2) wildlife refuge in Crittenden County, Arkansas, managed by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. Wapanocca National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1961 from land acquired from the former "Wapanocca Outing Club" which was a prestigious hunting club formed in 1886. The refuge is located 3 miles (5 km) west of the Mississippi River near the city of Turrell, Arkansas. The refuge was once a bend in the Mississippi River. It is a migration stopover for warblers and other neo-tropical birds. The refuge is host to the blue heron, and the common egret as well as the bald eagle. The refuge is a major stopover on the Mississippi Flyway. Wapanocca consists of 600 acres (2.4 km2) of open water, 1,800 acres (7 km2) of swampland, 500 acres (2.0 km2) of bottomland hardwood, 1,200 acres (4.9 km2) of cropland, and 400 acres (1.6 km2) of grassland.
