Decatur House

The New Executive Office Building (NEOB) is a U.S. federal government office building in Washington, D.C., for the executive branch. The building is located at 725 17th Street NW, on the north side of Pennsylvania Avenue. To the south is the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB), which is next to the White House―the EEOB before 1999 was known as the Old Executive Office Building. The other sides are bounded by 17th Street NW (west), H Street NW (north), and Jackson Place and Lafayette Park (east). Within the same block are several buildings: Blair House, Trowbridge House, and Renwick Gallery in the south and the National Grange Headquarters and the Decatur House to the north. Known as Federal Office Building #7, it was built from 1965 to 1969 and is ten stories tall, double the height of the EEOB. According to Michael J. Bednar of the University of Virginia School of Architecture, "Four taller office buildings dating to earlier in the 20th century were demolished and replaced with next rowhouse office builds. One has an open base to serve as an entry to the New Executive Office Building via courtyard. The historic structures were preserved and rehabilitated for smaller federal agencies. The New Executive Office Building has an offset H-shaped plan with a long brick facade along 17th Street."The building was designed by architect John Carl Warnecke, who also designed 722 Jackson Place and the National Courts Building (717 Madison Place) on the opposite side of Lafayette Park during the same period. Warnecke sought to "harmonize [the structures] with Lafayette Square's historic character and retained the domestic facades but joined the separate interiors."According to Shelley Lynne Tomkin in Inside OMB, most Office of Management and Budget civil service employees work in the NEOB, while most OMB political appointees work across the street in the EEOB.

The American Peace Society House, also known as the Glover House, is a historic house at 734 Jackson Place NW, facing Lafayette Square in the heart of Washington, D.C. Built in 1878 for banker and philanthropist Charles Carroll Glover, it is most notable as the national headquarters of the American Peace Society from 1911 to 1948. The Peace Society was one of the first overtly pacifist organizations in the nation, with a history dating to 1815. The house was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1974.

The Presidential Townhouse is a U.S. government-owned building located at 716 Jackson Place NW in Washington, D.C., reserved for the exclusive use of former presidents of the United States during visits to the capital. Located across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House, it adjoins several other government-owned townhouses used for official purposes, including Blair House, often used by visiting heads of state. Purchased by the government in the late 1950s and used for various purposes, the Presidential Townhouse was established in 1969 by order of President Richard Nixon. The furnishings were very sparse until it was refurbished using private funds during the administration of President George W. Bush (2001–2009). The five-story building includes two dining rooms, several bedrooms, and space for a Secret Service detail in the basement.Ongoing maintenance of the townhouse is funded by the Former Presidents Act, which provides for office support and Secret Service protection of former presidents.The townhouse was constructed in the late 1860s. It was once the home of Supreme Court justice Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr.In 2021, the Office of the National Cyber Director began using the house.

Blair House, also known as The President's Guest House, is an official residence in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. The President's Guest House has been called "the world's most exclusive hotel" because it is primarily used as a state guest house to host visiting dignitaries and other guests of the president. Parts of the historic complex have been used for an official residence since the 1940s. Located just across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House, it is a complex of four formerly separate homes—Blair House, Lee House, Peter Parker House, and 704 Jackson Place. Major interior renovation of these 19th century residences between the 1950s and 1980s resulted in them being joined together. Blair House is one of several residences owned by the United States government for use by the president and vice president of the United States; other such residences include the White House, Camp David, One Observatory Circle, the Presidential Townhouse, and Trowbridge House. President Harry S. Truman and his family lived in the original Blair House from 1948 to 1952 during the White House Reconstruction. Truman survived a 1950 assassination attempt there.

The White House Conference Center is an annex building of the White House in Washington, D.C. The Colonial Revival building is located across Pennsylvania Avenue at 726 Jackson Place and was used as a temporary press location during remodeling of the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room from August 2006 to June 2007.Along with 718 Jackson Place, 726 is a replica of the pre-Civil War row houses in Jackson Square built in the 20th Century (late 1960s to early 1970s).

La Bise is a French restaurant in Washington, D.C. Tyler Stout is the executive chef. The menu has included steak tartare, Rohan duck breast, black truffle risotto, and Maine lobster with pineapple.

The Peter Parker House, also known as the former headquarters of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, is a historic row house at 700 Jackson Place NW in Washington D.C. Built in 1860, it is historically significant for its association with the Carnegie Endowment, whose headquarters it was from its founding in 1910 until 1948. The building was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1974. It has since been incorporated into the Blair House complex serving high-profile official visitors to the capital.

The United States Digital Service is a technology unit housed within the Executive Office of the President of the United States. It provides consultation services to federal agencies on information technology. It seeks to improve and simplify digital service, and to improve federal websites. It was launched on August 11, 2014.

Jackson Place is a Washington, D.C. street located across from the White House and forming the western border of Lafayette Square between Pennsylvania Avenue and H Street, NW, beginning just south of Connecticut Avenue.

The Trowbridge House is a historic building located in Washington, D.C., that is currently being renovated to serve as a presidential residence, specifically for the use of former presidents of the United States while visiting the capital city. The only US government residential facility currently dedicated for use by former presidents is the Presidential Townhouse.Constructed in 1859 as the residence of William P. Trowbridge, Trowbridge sold the house in 1869 and, in the early 20th century, it was leased by the United States government for use as office space. The government ultimately purchased the building in 1950 and, over the following decades, it housed the offices of the Commission of Fine Arts, and from 1989 to 1993 The President.’s Drug Advisory Council. Larer the White House Millennium Council, Psychological Strategy Board, Operations Coordinating Board, White House Office of Women's Initiatives and Outreach, and White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.Trowbridge House abuts the President's Guest House (Blair House) on its south side and 712 Jackson Place, which houses the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, on the north.

Immigrant Food is a fast-casual restaurant located at 1701 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington D.C. It was founded by chef Enrique Limardo, Peter Schechter, and Ezequiel Vázquez-Ger, and opened on November 12, 2019. Located near the White House, the restaurant combines its food offerings with pro-immigrant activism.Immigrant Food serves fusion cuisine from China, El Salvador, Ethiopia, and other countries. Its menu is prepared by Limardo.Immigrant Food opened two more D.C. locations in 2021: a food stall at Union Market on May 12, and an "offshoot" location, Immigrant Food+, in the Planet Word museum on October 7.

The Renwick Gallery is a branch of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, located in Washington, D.C., and focuses on American craft and decorative arts from the 19th to the 21st century. It is housed in a National Historic Landmark building that was begun in 1859 on Pennsylvania Avenue and originally housed the Corcoran Gallery of Art (now one block from the White House and across the street from the Old Executive Office Building). When it was built in 1859, it was known as "the American Louvre".
