Branchville is a former town in St. Clair County, Alabama in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town was 825.

Argo is a town in Jefferson and St. Clair counties, Alabama, United States. It incorporated in 1987. At the 2020 census, the population was 4,368.

Acmar is a former unincorporated community and neighborhood within the city of Moody in St. Clair County, in the U.S. state of Alabama.

Moody High School is a four-year public high school in the Birmingham, Alabama suburb of Moody. It is one of five high schools in the St. Clair County School System. School colors are navy blue and Vegas gold, and the athletic teams are called the Blue Devils. Moody competes in AHSAA Class 5A athletics.The current Moody High School campus was constructed in 2002 at a cost of $8.2 million.

Odenville is a city in St. Clair County, Alabama, United States. It incorporated in 1914. At the 2010 census the population was 3,585, up from 1,131 in 2000. It annexed the former town of Branchville in 2007. Odenville annexed a portion of Springville in 2015 due to Springville not running water to some of its residences.

WGWW (channel 40) is a television station licensed to Anniston, Alabama, United States, serving the eastern portion of the Birmingham market as an affiliate of the digital multicast network Heroes & Icons. The station is owned by Howard Stirk Holdings, a partner company of the Sinclair Broadcast Group. WGWW's transmitter is located at Bald Rock Mountain (off of Kelly Creek Road), near Moody in unincorporated southern St. Clair County. WGWW operates as a full-time satellite of Tuscaloosa-licensed WSES (channel 33), whose advertising sales office is located on Golden Crest Drive in Birmingham. WGWW covers areas of northeastern Alabama that receive a marginal to non-existent over-the-air signal from WSES, although there is significant overlap between the two stations' contours otherwise, including in Birmingham proper. WGWW is a straight simulcast of WSES; on-air references to WGWW are limited to Federal Communications Commission (FCC)-mandated hourly station identifications during programming. Aside from the transmitter, WGWW does not maintain any physical presence locally in Anniston. Through a time-brokerage agreement (TBA) with Sinclair, WGWW's second digital subchannel serves as a repeater of ABC affiliate WBMA-LD (channel 58), of which WGWW had served as a full-time satellite station on its main feed from September 1996 to September 2014.

Springville is a city in St. Clair County, Alabama, United States. It incorporated in December 1880. At the 2020 census the population was 4,786, up from 4,080 in 2010.

Presley Store (also known as the Webby Building) is a historic building in Springville, Alabama. It was built in 1902 for the general store of brothers Porter and John Presley. The one-story frame building has board-and-batten siding on the sides and rear. The cast iron storefront has two recessed entrances and a tall and ornate pressed metal cornice. At the time, it was one of the most elaborate commercial buildings in the small town. The interior was originally one large space with a storeroom behind, but has since been divided into two spaces.The store was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

St. Clair Correctional Facility is an Alabama state men's prison located in Springville, St. Clair County, Alabama. The prison was originally built in 1983, and has an operating capacity of 1,514 inmates. The current warden is Guy Noe.The facility was built in 1983. In April 1985 it was site of a major riot. Five employees were beaten and 22 others including the warden and his deputy were held hostage by inmates armed with guns. The prisoners complained of "barbaric conditions." Within a year period ending September 2014, six inmates had been killed in the facility. The Alabama non-profit Equal Justice Initiative had already called for a change in leadership three months prior, after inmate Jodey Waldrop was killed in the early morning hours of June 3, for what they described as a pattern of serious neglect and violence, including an incident when the then-warden punched a handcuffed prisoner. As of June 2014 the prison was at 130 percent capacity.Press reports indicate that the facility is in a lawless condition. One expert cited "a total breakdown of the necessary basic structures that are required to operate a prison safely."In March 2016 a correctional officer was wounded by a knife, trying to break up a fight. On May 13, 2016, another inmate was found dead of unknown causes.In June 2016 the Equal Justice Initiative filed a motion in federal court arguing that "severe overcrowding, understaffing and dangerous conditions violate the prisoners' constitutional rights," and that the prison's severe understaffing poses a safety risk to guards and correctional officers. The facility runs at 59.5% of full staffing levels, giving it a inmate-to-staff ratio among the highest in U.S. prisons. In the fiscal year ending in September 2016, there were 249 reported assaults at St. Clair.

St. Clair Springs is an unincorporated community and historic district in St. Clair County, Alabama, United States. Beginning in the 1840s, people came to the area to camp around the springs. A four-room tavern was built sometime before the Civil War. In 1875, the St. Clair Springs Hotel was built near the springs, and several private homes were built in the 1880s. The hotel closed in 1902, but was soon replaced by the St. Clair Inn. The Inn burned in 1925, which effectively ended the area's tourism popularity.The historic district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and includes 23 structures. The majority of houses are small Victorian cottages originally built as summer homes.

Springville High School (SHS) is a four-year public high school in Springville, Alabama. It is one of five high schools in the St. Clair County School System.Springville High School's community outreach efforts have been anchored by its Key Club and Beta Club, both of which collectively include hundreds of students as members. The Key Club and the school's fishing team, the Springville Anglers, have won state-level competitions. The visual arts department's annual art show, as well as the school's partnership with the Youth Leadership Development Program, offers students opportunities for scholarships.

Cooks Springs (also known as Cook Springs or Polk) is an unincorporated community in St. Clair County, Alabama, United States. Cooks Springs is located along Interstate 20 and U.S. Route 78, 6.3 miles (10.1 km) west of Pell City. Cooks Springs had a post office until November 19, 2011; it still has its own ZIP code, 35052. Cooks Springs was named for William Praytor Cooke, who settled here in 1854.
