Temple Independent School District is a public school district based in Temple, Texas, United States. Temple schools began instruction June 12, 1883. It is the largest employer in Temple, with 1300 employees.

Temple is a city in Bell County, Texas, United States. As of 2020, the city has a population of 82,073 according to the U.S. census, and is one of the two principal cities in Bell County.Located near the county seat of Belton, Temple lies in the region referred to as Central Texas and is a principal city in the Killeen–Temple–Fort Hood metropolitan area, which as of 2015 had a population of 450,051. Located off Interstate 35, Temple is 65 miles north of Austin, 34 miles south of Waco and 27 miles east of Killeen. The primary economic drivers are the extensive medical community (mostly due to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple) and goods distribution based on its central location between the Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio, and Houston metropolitan areas, and proximity to larger neighbors Austin and Waco.

Temple High School is a public high school located in Temple, Texas, United States. As of the 2018–2020 biennial realignment, it is classified as a 6A school by the UIL. It is part of the Temple Independent School District located in central Bell County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.Temple High School became an International Baccalaureate authorized school in 1992 and is currently one of 46 IB authorized high schools in Texas. To date, Temple High School has awarded over 100 IB diplomas.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple is a 636-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital located in Temple, Texas. The facility was founded in 1897, when Dr. Arthur C. Scott and Dr. Raleigh R. White Jr. opened the Temple Sanitarium in Temple, Texas. The group practice consists of over 800 physicians and scientists. The primary clinical teaching campus of Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, Baylor Scott & White – Temple is ranked as one of the top 100 hospitals and one of the top 15 teaching hospitals in the United States by Thomson Reuters. Baylor Scott & White – Temple has 31 accredited residency and fellowship programs, including programs in emergency medicine, radiology and offers a well-established and respected chaplain resident program. In 2013, Scott & White merged with Baylor Health Care System to form Baylor Scott & White Health. In October 2018, Baylor Scott & White Health and Memorial Hermann announced their plan to merge.

Temple Mall is a regional shopping mall and trade area located in Temple, Texas. It contains four major department store anchors, and a total of 57 tenants comprising a total of approximately 555,400 square feet of gross leasable area. The anchor stores are Dillard's. Junior anchors are Planet Fitness and Premiere Cinemas. There are 3 vacant anchor store that were once Dillard's,JCPenney,and Steve & Barry's. Premiere Cinemas last day of operation was December 25th, 2022. Temple Mall is one of two regional malls in Bell County, with the other being Killeen Mall, in nearby Killeen, Texas. The Sears anchor store closed and was replaced in 1995 by Foley's. Foley's became Macy's in 2006. Macy's closed in 2016 and Dillard's closed their store across the mall and relocated to the former Macy's space in 2017.On December 17, 2020, it was announced that JCPenney would closing in March 2021 as part of a plan to close 15 stores nationwide. After JCPenney closes, Dillard's will be the only traditional anchor store left. Kohan Retail Investment Group purchased the mall in late October 2021.

KTEM (1400 AM), branded as "Newsradio 1400", is a radio station serving the Killeen-Temple, Texas, area with a News/Talk/Sports format. KTEM is under ownership of Townsquare Media, through licensee Townsquare Media Killeen-Temple License, LLC. Its studios and transmitter are located separately in Temple.
