Smederevo Fortress

The Smederevo Gymnasium (Serbian: Гимназија Смедерево, Gimnazija Smederevo) is a public coeducational high school (gymnasium, similar to preparatory school) located in Smederevo, city in Podunavlje District, Serbia. The Gymnasium is the sole high school institution of its kind located in the city of Smederevo. The school was opened in 1871 as a small and modest educational institution with only 35 students enrolled during the inaugural school year. Milan Maksimović undertook the responsibilities of teaching Serbian grammar and geography while also serving as the first deputy director. Branislav Nušić is one of the most prominent former students of the high school. The school is recipient of Yugoslav era Order of Merits for the People with Golden Star.

The 2023 Smederevo explosion took place on 31 August 2023 in Smederevo, Serbia. Explosion occurred in the one of the residential buildings that surrounds Karađorđe's Mulberry Square, one of the main town squares. It caused damages in at least twenty apartments and parts of broken glass to be blown out on the busy town square and surrounding streets. After the explosion fire also broke out in the building. Media initially reported that explosion was caused by the liquid gas tank on the fourth floor. Morning after the explosion it was also speculated that explosion was caused by the bomb that was thrown by one person who got killed in the process, though authorities are still to confirm it. It was reported that explosion was heard up to 10 kilometers away, on the outskirts of the town. After the explosion parts of city center were closed to the public because of the investigation. According to authorities, two persons were hospitalized and one was killed.

Smederevo (Serbian Cyrillic: Смедерево, pronounced [smêdereʋo] ) is a city and the administrative center of the Podunavlje District in eastern Serbia. It is situated on the right bank of the Danube, about 45 kilometres (28 miles) downstream of the Serbian capital, Belgrade. According to the 2022 census, the city has a population of 59,261, with 97,930 people living in its administrative area. Its history starts in the 1st century BC, after the conquest of the Roman Empire, when there existed a settlement by the name of Vinceia. The modern city traces its roots back to the Late Middle Ages when it was the capital (1430–39, and 1444–59) of the last independent Serbian state before Ottoman conquest. Smederevo is said to be the city of iron (Serbian: гвожђе / gvožđe) and grapes (грожђе / grožđe).

The Podunavlje District (Serbian: Подунавски округ, romanized: Podunavski okrug, pronounced [pôdǔnaʋskiː ôkruːɡ]) is one of nine administrative districts of Southern and Eastern Serbia. The district's name refers to its location by—specifically, to the south of—the Danube river. It expands across the central parts of Serbia. According to the 2011 census results, it has a population of 199,395 inhabitants. The administrative center is the city of Smederevo.

Smederevo Hall (Serbian: Дворана Смедерево, romanized: Dvorana Smederevo) is an indoor arena in Smederevo, Serbia. It was finished in June 2009, for 2009 Summer Universiade. The hall is located within the SC Smederevo. It is the home arena of domestic KK Smederevo 1953, OK Smederevo Carina, RK Smederevo as well as other sports clubs from Smederevo. In the 2013/2014 season the arena was a home of basketball club KK Mega Vizura, who played in the regional ABA League. Sports Hall has possibilities for various sports events alongside basketball, futsal, volleyball, handball, table tennis and martial arts, there is a bowling alley and indoor shooting range.

Sports and Recreation Complex Pools Smederevo (SRC Pools Smederevo; Serbian: Спортско-рекреативни комплекс Базени Смедерево (СРК Базени Смедерево), romanized: Sportsko-rekreativni kompleks Bazeni Smederevo (SRK Bazeni Smederevo); sometimes short Pools Smederevo, Serbian: Базени Смедерево, romanized: Bazeni Smederevo) is a swimming pool complex in Smederevo, Serbia. The complex is in the SC Smederevo. It consists of an Olympic pool, dimensions 22x50 m, and two smaller pools for children and non-swimmers. The Olympic pool meets all FINA standards and is equipped with technology that meets the stringent requirements international swimming events. The capacity of the complex is 7,000 seats.

Smederevo Stadium (Serbian: Стадион ФК Смедерево / Stadion FK Smederevo), known as Tvrđava (Serbian Cyrillic: Тврђава, lit. 'Fortress'), is a football stadium in Smederevo, Serbia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Smederevo 1924. The stadium has a seating capacity for 17,200 spectators. The stadium was previously known as Sartid Stadium (Serbian: Стадион ФК Сартид / Stadion FK Sartid).

The Kovin Bridge is a road bridge in Serbia, across the Danube, between the cities of Kovin and Smederevo.

The Obrenović Villa (Serbian: Вила Обреновића / Vila Obrenovića) or Villa Zlatni Breg (Serbian: Вила Златни брег / Vila Zlatni breg) in Smederevo, Serbia, was a summerhouse of the royal Obrenović dynasty. The earliest structure originates from 1865 but was expanded and reconstructed several times since then. In 2009 it was declared a cultural monument. As it is today owned by the state, it has been used for the state visits and in 2015 the venue was open for public. It is also colloquially known as the "Obrenović Summerhouse" or the "Royal Vineyard" and is the only surviving summerhouse of the dynasty which was overthrown in 1903.

Smederevo Airfield (Serbian: Аеродром Смедерево / Aerodrom Smederevo) (ICAO: LYSD) is an aerodrome in village Lipe, on the territory of the city of Smederevo, Serbia. It is about 4.5 km southeast of the center of Smederevo, near the road 14 that connects Smederevo–Kovin. Activities include sport and training flights of aircraft, agricultural airplanes, helicopters, and parachuting. Within the airport works and Aero Club Smederevo. There is a concrete apron of 20x40 m.

Vučak is a village in the municipality of Smederevo, Serbia. According to the 2011 census, the village has a population of 1918 people.

Radinac (Serbian Cyrillic: Радинац) is a village in the municipality of Smederevo, Serbia. According to the 2011 census, the village has a population of 5,428 people. It is home to Serbia's only operating steel mill - Železara Smederevo, previously known as Sartid.
