Senado Square

The Leal Senado Building (Portuguese for Loyal Senate) was the seat of Portuguese Macau's government (Legislative Assembly of Macau and Municipal Council of Macau). It is located at one end of the Senado Square in São Lourenço, Macau, China. It currently houses Macau's Municipal Affairs Bureau.

The Municipality of Macau (Portuguese: Concelho de Macau) was one of two municipalities of Macau, along with the Municipality of Ilhas.

Municipal Council of Macau (Portuguese: Leal Senado, lit. Loyal Senate), was the local government structure in Macau (similar to city councils) during Portuguese colonial rule. The title Leal Senado was bestowed on Macau's government in 1810 by Portugal's prince regent João, who later became King John VI of Portugal. This was a reward for Macau's loyalty to Portugal during the Philippine Dynasty, between 1580 and 1640. Following the handover in 1999, the Council was replaced by a Provisional Municipal Council and finally replaced by the Municipal Affairs Bureau. Like its Municipal Council predecessors, the Institute meets at the Leal Senado Building.

Sam Kai Vui Kun, known also as Kuan Tai Temple, (Chinese: 三街會館) is located in front of St. Dominic’s Market Complex, near Senado Square in Sé, Macau, China. The temple was built in 1750.Kuan Tai (Chinese: 關帝) is the Anglicized spelling of Lord Guan, an important general during the Three Kingdoms period in China, being now honored and worshiped in Taoism, Confucianism and Chinese Buddhism.

Macau Post and Telecommunications (Portuguese: Correios e Telecomunicações de Macau; Chinese: 澳門郵電局) is an entity under the Government of Macao responsible for postal services and telecommunications regulation. The acronym CTT comes from the former name of Portuguese postal administration (Portuguese: Correios, Telégrafos e Telefones, meaning "Post, Telegraph and Telephone") during the colonial period of Macao.

The Holy House of Mercy of Macau (Portuguese: Santa Casa da Misericórdia; Chinese: 仁慈堂大樓), is a historic building in Senado Square, Macau, China. Established as a branch of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia, it was first built in 1569 on the orders of the Bishop of Macau, Belchior Carneiro Leitão. It was a medical clinic and several other social welfare structures in early Macau. It later served as an orphanage and refuge for widows of sailors lost at sea. It is part of the Historic Centre of Macau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Macau General Post Office (Chinese: 澳門郵政局大樓; Portuguese: Edificio Sede dos CTT) is a 3-storey building at the intersection of Senado Square and Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro in Sé, Macau, China. The current building was built in 1929.

Hotel Central (Chinese: 新中央酒店) is an 11-storey hotel on Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro in Sé, Macau. Historically it has also been known as President Hotel (Chinese: 總統酒店). The building was 6 storeys tall in 1928 but, after 5 more floors were added in 1942, became the tallest building in Macau. There were formerly casinos on the fifth and seventh floors of the building. It is also the first building in Macau with elevators.

The Macao Public Library (Chinese: 澳門公共圖書館; Portuguese: Biblioteca Pública de Macau) is the public library system of Macau. The head office is on the ground floor of the old building of the Sir Robert Ho Tung Library in São Lourenço.

Saint Dominic's Church (Chinese: 板樟堂; Portuguese: Igreja de São Domingos) is a late 16th-century Baroque-style church that serves within the Cathedral Parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Macau. It is in the peninsular part of the city at the Largo de São Domingos, near the Leal Senado Building. It was finished in 1587 and overseen by three Spanish Dominican priests. Due to renovations and reconstruction, the current structure dates from the early 17th century. It is one of 29 sites forming the Historic Centre of Macau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Former Court Building, or Old Court Building, is a former courthouse located at 459 Avenida da Praia Grande in Macau. Built in 1951, the building was used as offices for the Portuguese colonial government, including the Judiciary Police headquarters, and then as a courthouse. It has been designated as a structure of importance. Plans to convert the building for use as the new Macao Central Library were axed in 2020. Instead, the building is now planned to house the Court of Final Appeal.

The Lou Kau Mansion (traditional Chinese: 盧家大屋; simplified Chinese: 卢家大屋; pinyin: Lújiā Dàwū; Portuguese: Casa de Lou Kau) is a historical house in Sé, Macau, China. Built in 1889, the mansion is one of the designated historical sites in the Historic Centre of Macau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
