KSJR-FM (90.1 FM) is a radio station licensed to Collegeville, Minnesota, and serving the St. Cloud area. The station is owned by Minnesota Public Radio (MPR), and airs MPR's "Classical Music Network," originating from the Twin Cities. The station has inserts at least once an hour for local underwriting and weather. KSJR was the birthplace of MPR. It signed on from the campus of Saint John's University on January 22, 1967. However, it soon became apparent that the station needed to reach the Twin Cities, an hour southeast, if it had any chance of surviving, as the St. Cloud/Stearns County area was not nearly large enough for the station to be viable. KSJR tripled its power in hopes of reaching the valuable Twin Cities market. Even then, it barely covered Minneapolis and missed St. Paul. The station's young general manager, Bill Kling, then persuaded Saint John's to sign on a repeater for the Twin Cities, KSJN. By 1969, however, the operation was still awash in debt, so Saint John's transferred the stations to a nonprofit corporation that evolved into Minnesota Public Radio.MPR moved its headquarters to St. Paul in 1971, and KSJR eventually reduced its power to normal levels as KSJN became the flagship station. Joshua Guimond (born June 18, 1982) is an American man who disappeared on the night of November 9 and 10, 2002, after leaving a party hosted in a dormitory of Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He was a 20-year-old junior student at Saint John's, who was partying with friends in the campus' Metten Court dormitory building. He left the party around 11:45 p.m. on the 9th without saying anything. When he did not return, the students at the party assumed that he had gone to sleep elsewhere. The walk to his dormitory, St. Maur, would have taken about three minutes. He was last seen around 12:15 to 12:30 a.m. on the 10th, on a bridge near Stumpf Lake, which is located in between the two buildings. The disappearance's possible connection to others in the area led to media attention. Investigators from the Stearns County Sheriff's Office discovered Guimond's scent by the lake using a bloodhound, and theorized he had fallen or was pushed into the lake during his walk. In the decades since, divers have searched Stumpf and other nearby bodies of water, and have not found Guimond's body. Based on conversations found on his computer, investigators now theorize he was kidnapped or picked up via a car on the bridge.

HMML is currently digitizing manuscripts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Gaza, Great Britain, India, Iraq, Italy, Lebanon, Mali, Malta, Mauritania, Montenegro, Nepal, Pakistan, and Yemen. HMML's mission is to preserve and share the world's handwritten past to inspire a deeper understanding of our present and future. With approximately 450,000 manuscripts digitized or microfilmed in partnership with more than 800 libraries worldwide, HMML maintains the world's largest digital collection of ancient manuscripts. Additionally, HMML’s reference collection holds approximately 50,000 volumes on topics related to manuscripts, printed books, art, and liturgy. HMML’s Special Collections and Art & Photographs collection contain more than 11,000 rare books and 7,000 art objects. Once photographed and cataloged, the manuscripts and artwork are made available online in HMML Reading Room and Museum.

Saint John's Abbey is a Benedictine monastery in Collegeville Township, Minnesota, United States, affiliated with the American-Cassinese Congregation. The abbey was established following the arrival in the area of monks from Saint Vincent Archabbey in Pennsylvania in 1856. Saint John's is one of the largest Benedictine abbeys in the Western Hemisphere, with 110 professed monks. The Right Reverend Fr. Doug Mullin, OSB, serves as the eleventh abbot. A school founded at the abbey grew into Saint John's University in 1883. 17 buildings constructed at the abbey and university between 1868 and 1959 are listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the St. John's Abbey and University Historic District.

Clemens Stadium is a football stadium located in Collegeville, Minnesota. The stadium serves as the host stadium to Saint John's University football, track and field teams and other intramural activities. Saint John's Preparatory School's football and track and field teams also use Clemens Stadium as their home facility. Popularly referred to as "The Natural Bowl," Clemens Stadium was named one of ten Sports Illustrated "College Football Dream Destinations" in 1999 for its natural beauty and large crowds.

The Birch Lakes State Forest is a state forest located in Stearns County, Minnesota. One of the smallest Minnesota state forests, it is managed primarily for recreation by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Big Birch Lake, a 2,112 acres (855 ha) sand- and marl-bottomed lake, is accessible from the northeast corner of the forest. The forest is located in a transitory ecotone between the temperate deciduous forest to the northeast and the tallgrass prairie to the southwest, with the rolling terrain characteristic of the glacial activity in the area. Outdoor recreation activities include boating, fishing, swimming in Big Birch Lake, as well as hunting, picnicking, and backcountry camping in the forest. Trails include 7 miles (11 km) of hiking, 7 miles (11 km) of mountain biking, and 4.1 miles (6.6 km) for snowmobiling.

Saint John’s Preparatory School (SJP) is a Catholic co-educational, day and boarding college preparatory school located in Collegeville, Minnesota. Founded in 1857, it is located in the Diocese of Saint Cloud and is administered by the Benedictine monks of Saint John's Abbey. The school includes a middle school consisting of grades 6–8 and an upper school consisting of grades 9–12. The student body consists of students from the local area along with 5- and 7-day boarding students from across the United States and around the world. In the 2018–19 academic year, the student body included students from 24 different cities and towns in Minnesota, 4 states and 13 different countries.
