Bow Locks

Bromley Stop Lock was a lock on the Limehouse Cut in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets that was situated near the junction of Limehouse Cut and the River Lee Navigation by Bow Locks. Stop locks were initially installed where there was a change of canal ownership to prevent the loss of water from one canal to another. Bow Locks were originally tidal, i.e. not a falling lock. They would be opened at high tide to fill the Limehouse Cut and to maintain navigation in the River Lee Navigation. This lock could be closed should anything go wrong with the process to maintain the level of the Cut, at the level in Limehouse Basin. Today, the lock is redundant and very little of it remains. One gate at the lower end of the lock is visible within a patch of weeds behind the modern floating tow-path.

East London Arts & Music (also known as ELAM) is a free school sixth form located in Bromley-by-Bow in East London, England.

The London Gas Museum was a museum in Bromley-by-Bow in east London, England. It was situated on Twelvetrees Crescent, London E3 3JG, on the eastern side of the River Lea and near to Bromley-by-Bow tube station. The building dates from 1905 when it was part of a gas works and is still known as the London Gas Museum for post. Amongst other exhibits, it held a gas-powered radio, and an assortment of survey maps for gas companies.

Coventry Cross Estate is a social housing estate in the Bromley by Bow district of the East End of London.

Bromley-by-Bow is a London Underground station located on the Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach Road in the Bromley-by-Bow area of London, United Kingdom. The station is below the Blackwall Tunnel Northern Approach Road and lies between Bow Road and West Ham stations on the District and Hammersmith & City lines, and is in both Travelcard Zones 2 and 3.

Harris Science Academy East London (HSAEL), formerly known as East London Science School (ELSS), is a coeducational secondary free school with specialist school status in science and language in Stratford, Bromley and Bow, in the London boroughs of Newham and Tower Hamlets. It was founded on Three Mills Island in its first temporary and current main site, the Clock Mill, by its first principal, David Perks, in 2013. The school originally planned to move to its permanent site two years after its opening, however this has yet to occur. The new building is being built by Berkeley Homes as part of its Twelvetrees Park development project (formerly Stephenson Street) and is expected to be complete sometime in 2022.In September 2022, the school joined the Harris Federation, a multi-academy trust with schools in London and Essex, and was given its current name.

Bromley Hall is an early Tudor period manor house in Bromley-by-Bow, Tower Hamlets, London. Located on the Blackwall Tunnel northern approach road, it is now owned and restored by Leaside Regeneration. Built around 1485, it is thought to be the oldest brick house in London.

The Three Mills are former working mills and an island of the same name on the River Lea. It is one of London’s oldest surviving industrial centres. The mills lie in the London Borough of Newham, but despite lying on the Newham side of the Lea, access is principally from the western, London Borough of Tower Hamlets, side of the river. The River Lea Tidal Mill Trust Ltd owns the House Mill and the Miller's House buildings, which are used for educational projects and as conference spaces. The Lower Lea Project is also based at Three Mills in The Miller's House.

The House Mill is a major Grade I listed building on the River Lea in Mill Meads, and part of the Three Mills complex. The original tidal mills at this site date back to the Domesday book of 1086, and the present structure of the House Mill was built in 1776 by Daniel Bisson. It was damaged by fire in 1802, and then rebuilt by Philip Metcalfe.It is one of only four Grade I listed buildings in the London Borough of Newham. The House Mill remains the "largest tidal mill standing in Britain", although the water wheels are not in operation. The south facade of the House Mill displays a coat of arms dated 1776 and the initials "D S B" (which could be Daniel and Sarah Bisson), with forty cast iron wall plates which tie the ends of the floor beams. The Miller's House was rebuilt in 1995 with a modern interior, but retaining the original facade. The Miller's House and a house on the other side of the House Mill were originally built for the Miller and his family. A Second World War bomb landed on a nearby bonded warehouse and damaged both houses on 15 October 1940 which were later demolished. The Mill stopped operating and was used as a warehouse.

Based in both Berlin and London, the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA) was founded in 2003 by Thomas Prattki - the former pedagogical director of the Jacques Lecoq International School of Theatre (Ecole Jacques Lecoq) in Paris - along with Amy Russell, who was Chair of the Naropa University MFA in Lecoq-Based Actor Created Physical Theater. LISPA was a private educational institution offering full-time postgraduate Masters-level training programs in Devising Theatre based on the teachings of Jacques Lecoq, as well as short workshops and a regular Summer School before finally closing as a school in 2018.

3 Mills Studios is a centre for film, television and theatre production near Stratford in East London. The site of a former distillery in Three Mills became a dedicated centre for television and film production work with the establishment in the 1980s of Bow Studios, Three Mills Island Studios, and Edwin Shirley Productions. In the mid-1990s the three studios merged to become 3 Mills Studios, under the management of Workspace Group.In August 2004, the London Development Agency acquired 3 Mills Studios. As parent organisation of the Creative London agency, the LDA's role included supporting business and skills, researching industry needs, and promoting London for film-making. The site is now one of London's most important film and television studios. Ownership transferred to the London Legacy Development Corporation in 2010. The LLDC is the organisation responsible for planning, developing, and managing the Olympic Park after the 2012 Summer Olympics.

The Bromley-by-Bow gasholders are a group of seven cast iron Victorian gasholders in Twelvetrees Crescent, West Ham and named after nearby Bromley (now Bromley-by-Bow) in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Built between 1872 and 1878 to store gas from the nearby Bromley gasworks, the site stopped storing gas in 2010, and is currently a brownfield site. They are thought to be the largest group of Victorian gasholders in Britain, with the Victorian Society calling them "a true symbol of the Industrial Revolution".
