Matinecock Friends Meetinghouse is a historic Quaker meeting house located on the northwest corner of Piping Rock and Duck Pond Roads in Locust Valley, Nassau County, New York. It was built in 1725 and is a two-story, rectangular building topped by a steeply pitched gable roof. It is two bays wide and four bays long, sheathed in shingles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The oldest section of the house is dated to the Federal period, about 1790. The house was expanded in the 1840s and in the 1920s-1930s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Locust Valley Cemetery is a non-denominational cemetery located in Locust Valley, New York, in Nassau County. The cemetery was founded in the nineteenth century and designed by John Charles Olmsted and Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., renowned architects of Central Park. They are the sons of the famed landscape designer Frederick Law Olmsted. The two brothers were among the founding members of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Locust Valley Cemetery is situated on over 32 lushly landscape acres with a park-like setting. The cemetery is owned by its plot holders and managed by an association.

Glen Cove is a station along the Oyster Bay Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is located between Pearsall Avenue and Norfolk Lane north of Duck Pond Road in the city of Glen Cove, New York. Glen Cove station, (née Nassau), was built in 1895 at the behest of the "Gold Coast" millionaires such as the Pratts and J.P. Morgan who were looking for a more dignified station to disembark. The picturesque station has been featured in several movies, including Sabrina, Hello Again, and several commercials. No bus access is available for this station (unlike the nearby Glen Street station), however local taxicabs do stop there.

Westbrook Preparatory School is New York State's first co-ed private residential school for 24 middle and high school students with high-functioning autism. It was established after intense lobbying by parents, with the aim of bringing special education students back from out-of-state private schools, through creating publicly financed alternatives closer to home. The school was originally scheduled to open in late fall 2010 and eventually opened in February 2011.

As of the 2014–15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 716 students and 45.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.8:1. There were 81 students (11.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 21 (2.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.
