The Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland (RPII), An Institiúid Éireannach um Chosaint Raideolaíoch, was an independent public body in Ireland under the aegis of the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment. The RPII was established in 1992 under the Radiological Protection Act 1991, which conferred on the RPII a broad remit in relation to radiological protection in Ireland. The RPII was merged with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in August 2014, as part of the Irish Government's Public Sector Reform Plan. RPII's functions are now carried out by the Office of Radiation Protection and Environmental Monitoring within the EPA. The general functions of the ORP are: To provide advice to the Government, the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government and other Ministers on matters relating to radiological safety. To provide information to the public on any matters relating to radiological safety which the ORP deems fit. To maintain and develop a national laboratory for the measurement of levels of radioactivity in the environment, and to assess the significance of these levels for the Irish population. To provide a personnel dosimetry and instrument calibration service for those who work with ionising radiation. To control by licence the custody, use, manufacture, importation, transportation, distribution, exportation and disposal of radioactive substances, irradiating apparatus and other sources of ionising radiation. To assist in the development of national plans for emergencies arising from nuclear accidents and to act in support of such plans. To provide a radioactivity measurement and certification service. To prepare codes and regulations for the safe use of ionising radiation. To carry out and promote research in relevant fields. To monitor developments abroad relating to nuclear installations and radiological safety generally, and to keep the Government informed of their implications for Ireland. To co-operate with the relevant authorities in other states and with appropriate international organisations. To represent the State on international bodies. To be the competent authority under international conventions on nuclear matters.The RPII was the successor to the Nuclear Energy Board which was formally wound up by the Radiological Protection Act 1991.

The Masonic Boys School (sometimes Masonic Orphan Boys School) was a school in Dublin, Ireland which was originally established for the sons of deceased, or financially distressed, freemasons. It was directly supported by the Brethren of the Masonic Order and was in existence from 1867 until 1981.The school was located at Richview in Clonskeagh for most of its existence from 1885 to 1980 in what is as of 2023 the University College Dublin's School of Architecture.

Clonskeagh or Clonskea (Irish: Cluain Sceach, meaning "meadow of the Whitethorn"; pronounced [klɔnskiː]), is a small southern suburb of Dublin, Ireland. The district straddles the River Dodder.

The UCD Bowl, also known as the Belfield Bowl, is a rugby union and football stadium in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Ireland. It is the home ground of University College Dublin R.F.C. in the AIB All Ireland League and League of Ireland Premier Division side University College Dublin A.F.C. It has also hosted training sessions for the Ireland national rugby union team and various touring international teams including the All Blacks. With its redevelopment complete, it now has capacity for 3,000 people, including 1,500 seats. It is located to the north of the Belfield campus beside the National hockey stadium, near the Sports Centre. There is a single stand on the southern side of the stadium with uncovered standing room at each end. 860 seats in the stand are covered.

Billings Park is a GAA ground in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Ireland. It is one of the sports pitches at University College Dublin and is located on its Belfield campus. The pitch is named after Dave Billings, a former UCD student who spent 18 years as Head of Gaelic Games in UCD.It was one of the venues for the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup.

The UCD School of Medicine (Scoil an Leighis UCD) at University College Dublin, Ireland, was founded in 1854. At undergraduate level, the school offers programmes in Medicine MB BCh BAO (undergraduate and graduate entry), BSc Biomedical Health and Life Sciences, and the BSc Radiography. At graduate level, the school UCD offers over 40 programmes for health care professionals.

The Central Mental Hospital (Irish: An Príomh-Oispidéal Meabhar-Ghalar) is a mental health facility housing forensic patients in Dundrum, Dublin, Ireland. The hospital, along with a community day centre for outpatients at Usher's Island, forms part of the National Forensic Mental Health Service.

Clonskeagh Bridge is a bridge over the River Dodder in Dublin, Ireland. The bridge is on the Clonskeagh Road and forms part of the administrative boundary between Dublin City Council and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council

Complex and Adaptive Systems Laboratory (CASL) is an interdisciplinary research institute in University College Dublin. It is formed around four research clusters. The institute houses research groups from a number of Schools within UCD, notably computer science. It is located in the Belfield Business Park at the northern end of the main UCD campus. The institute is involved in all aspects of research into complex systems from atomistic models, through to societal modelling.

The UCD library, composed of five separate bodies, has varied ranges of digital and printed books on a wide range of topics. Namely architecture, arts and humanities, business studies, engineering, law, medicine, science, social sciences and veterinary medicine. In 2015 UCD Archives and the National Folklore Collection UCD came under the administrative umbrella of UCD Library. University College Dublin (UCD) is the Republic of Ireland's largest university. With 33,284 students, it is Ireland's largest university, and amongst the most prestigious universities in the country. Five Nobel Laureates are among UCD's alumni and current and former staff.UCD originates in a body founded in 1854, which opened as the Catholic university of Ireland on the Feast of Saint Malachy and with John Henry Newman as its first rector; it re-formed in 1880 and chartered in its own right in 1908. The Universities Act, 1997 renamed the constituent university as the "National University of Ireland, Dublin", and a ministerial order of 1998 renamed the institution as "University College Dublin – National University of Ireland, Dublin".Originally located at St Stephen's Green in the Dublin city centre, all faculties have since relocated to a 133-hectare (330-acre) campus at Belfield, four kilometres to the south of the city centre. In 1991, it purchased a second site in Blackrock. This currently houses the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. A report published in May 2015 showed the economic output generated by UCD and its students in Ireland amounted to €1.3 billion annually.

Goatstown (Irish: Baile na nGabhar) is a small Southside suburb of Dublin, Ireland. To the west is Dundrum, to the east is Blackrock, to the south is Sandyford, and to the north Ranelagh. It is mainly a residential area, with a primary school called Our Lady’s Grove, and two all girls secondary schools, Mount Anville and Jesus and Mary. There are amenities such as restaurants, a pub, a post office and various shops.
