Long Island National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located in Suffolk County, New York. It is surrounded by a group of other separate cemeteries and memorial parks situated along Wellwood Avenue (County Road 3) – these include Pinelawn Memorial Park, St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries, Beth Moses, New Montefiore and Mt. Ararat Cemeteries. Its mailing address is Farmingdale (postal code 11735). It borders East Farmingdale along its western edge and is located within the CDPS of Wyandanch (to the east), in the Town of Babylon, and Melville (to the north) in the Town of Huntington. Administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, it encompasses 364.7 acres (147.6 ha), and as of 2021, had more than 357,000 interments. In 2016 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Pinelawn is a railroad station along the Main Line (Ronkonkoma Branch) of the Long Island Rail Road. It is on Long Island Avenue, east of the Suffolk County Road 3 (Wellwood Avenue) grade crossing in East Farmingdale, New York. Pinelawn serves mostly off-peak local trains daily. Approximately 36 trains currently stop at the station every week. This station currently sees no late night or peak service.

Wellwood Cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in West Babylon, New York. It was established as the annex to Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York. The cemetery comprises many sections, each under the auspices of a synagogue, landsmanschaft, or group such as the Brooklyn Jewish Postal Workers Union. Each of these is marked, most commonly by a stone arch or a pair of stone columns. Many of the landsmanshaft have dedicated Holocaust monuments to the victims of the Nazis in their ancestral town. Examples include Baranovichi, Belarus; Ioannina, Greece; Pilica, Poland; Sokołów Podlaski, Poland; and Burshtyn, Ukraine.Several well-known rabbis are buried here. Kehillas Belz of New York has a section within the Beth Moses section of Wellwood Cemetery. The Belz Kehilla still dedicated (Mekudash) this section when the previous Belz Rebbe Reb Aharon was still alive.

Wheatley Heights is a census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, New York. The population was 5,130 at the 2010 census. The CDP, located in the Town of Babylon, is named after the hamlet in the same general vicinity. In the past, some or all Wheatley Heights was proposed to become part of the never-realized Incorporated Village of Half Hollow Hills.

Wyandanch (, WY-ən-danch) is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Babylon in Suffolk County, New York. The population was 12,990 at the 2020 census.In the past, some or all of Wyandanch was proposed to become part of the never-realized Incorporated Village of Half Hollow Hills and later on proposed incorporating itself as the Incorporated Village of Wyandanch. However, those plans failed and Wyandanch has never been incorporated.

Half Hollow Hills is a large hamlet in the Towns of Babylon and Huntington in Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, United States. Although the area is now frequently associated with portions of Deer Park, Dix Hills, Melville, South Huntington, Wheatley Heights, and Wyandanch, it remains a widely used place-name, which is still used by multiple special taxation districts in the area, including the Half Hollow Hills Central School District and the Half Hollow Hills Community Library District. There have been multiple proposals made over the years to incorporate the area as the Incorporated Village of Half Hollow Hills.

The Katharine Gibbs School in Melville, New York, offers specialized associate and bachelor degrees and certificates to post-secondary students. Katharine Gibbs schools, founded in 1911, are for-profit institutions. In 2004, Gibbs – Melville announced a new game and web design degree. The Community College Week magazine recognized Gibbs – Melville's Criminal Justice program in their report on the nation's “Top 100 Associate Degree Producers” in July 2007.

Turbulence is a steel spinning roller coaster at Adventureland in East Farmingdale, New York. The coaster opened in May 2015 and replaced the aging Hurricane coaster, which had operated at the park for 22 years. It is considered as the park's headlining attraction.

Adventureland is an amusement park in East Farmingdale, New York, located on Route 110 (Broad Hollow Road). Adventureland has been Long Island's main amusement park since 1962. There are a total of twenty eight rides, two of which are roller coasters and three are water rides. Adventureland is opened seasonally: weekends in March, April, May, September and October and all days in the summer. Alvin Cohen and Herb Budin bought seven acres of property in 1962 and opened a restaurant, an arcade and mini golf. Along with the building, there were four rides brought to Long Island for entertainment. The original four rides were the Carousel, the Iron Horse train, Little Dipper Coaster, and boats. Willy Miller bought Adventureland from Alvin Cohen on September 15, 1977. Throughout the years, Willy Miller brought in new rides and expanded Adventureland's activities. In 1987, the park was sold to Tony Gentile and Peter Amoruso. In 1991, they began to add water rides to Adventureland. Adventureland celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012 and 60th anniversary in 2022. The park is a popular attraction for children, schools and day camps on Long Island.

Wyandanch is a station along the Main Line (Ronkonkoma Branch) of the Long Island Rail Road. It is located on Straight Path (Suffolk CR 2) and Long Island Avenue, off Acorn Avenue in Wyandanch, New York. All parking near the station is free, and maintained either by Suffolk County or the Town of Babylon.

The American Airpower Museum is an aviation museum located on the former site of Republic Aviation at Republic Airport in East Farmingdale, New York. It maintains a collection of aviation artifacts and an array of aircraft spanning the many years of the aircraft factory's history. The museum has many static displays which include a Republic F-84 first generation jet fighter, a rare example of the swept-wing RF-84F reconnaissance variant, and a Republic F-105 Thunderchief. The last production aircraft was the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II. The museum has a group of volunteers which includes both former Republic workers and veterans of all branches of the military. A flight experience is available on board a C-47 aircraft which actually flew during the Normandy invasion on D-Day.
