The North Brooklyn Boat Club or NBBC is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting environmental stewardship and human-powered recreational boating on Newtown Creek and the East River. NBBC's mission is to reclaim, protect and celebrate the waterways.

Saint Vitus is a bar and music venue located in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Opened in April 2011, the 2,500 square feet (230 m2) venue is known for its heavy metal atmosphere. Some notable metal bands that have played there include Pentagram and Black Anvil. In April 2014, the surviving members of Nirvana performed at Saint Vitus with Joan Jett and Kim Gordon. Pitchfork writer Brandon Stosuy has also booked bands at the venue, such as Converge, Iceage, and Deafheaven.

The Vernon Boulevard–Jackson Avenue station (often informally referred to as Vernon–Jackson station; formerly Vernon–Jackson Avenues station) is a station on the IRT Flushing Line of the New York City Subway, and the westernmost station on the Flushing Line in Queens. It is served by the 7 train at all times and the <7> train rush hours in the peak direction. Despite its name, the station is not quite located at the intersection of Vernon Boulevard and Jackson Avenue. It is located on 50th Avenue between Vernon Boulevard and Jackson Avenue, both of which have entrances to the station.

The station consists of one passenger platform located at ground level and is wheelchair accessible.

Initially established in New York City, the company expanded to include much of the New York Metropolitan area as well as select counties in New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the Washington, DC metro area. FreshDirect custom-packages groceries and meals for its customers using just-in-time manufacturing, a practice that reduces waste, and improves quality and freshness. The company offers its services via a website and mobile app. The company was an early proponent of the move towards food sustainability and rapidly grew in popularity by catering to an urban, socially-conscious consumer. FreshDirect focuses on reducing the time it takes for food to move from its source to the end user by buying directly from farms, emphasizing organic food and locally grown items. FreshDirect also stocks and delivers numerous kosher foods and is recognized by the Marine Stewardship Council as a certified sustainable seafood vendor.

Hunterspoint Avenue is a station on the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road within the City Terminal Zone. It is located at 49th Avenue (formerly Hunters Point Avenue) between 21st Street and Skillman Avenue in the Hunters Point and Long Island City neighborhoods of Queens, New York City. This ground-level station has an island platform between two tracks and is not wheelchair accessible from the entrance above the station. The station is served only during weekday rush hours in the peak direction (to Hunterspoint Avenue from Long Island in the morning, from Hunterspoint Avenue to Long Island in the evening). Trains serving here usually run on the Oyster Bay, Montauk, or Port Jefferson Branches. Some westbound trains continue to Long Island City, and some eastbound trains originate in Long Island City. All service is provided by diesel trains that cannot use the East River Tunnels, but the tracks are electrified.

The 21st Street station (signed as 21st Street–Van Alst) is a station on the IND Crosstown Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 21st Street and Jackson Avenue in the Hunters Point section of Long Island City, Queens, it is served by the G train at all times.

The Grand Central Atelier is an art school in the Long Island City neighborhood of the borough of Queens in New York City. Founded in 2006 by New York artist Jacob Collins, the school focuses on training artists in the classical art tradition.

The Long Island City Post Office is a historic post office building located at Long Island City in Queens County, New York, United States. It was built in 1928, and is one of a number of post offices in New York designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under director James A. Wetmore. The building is a two-story, symmetrically massed brick building with limestone trim in the Colonial Revival style. It features a frontispiece with four semi-engaged limestone Ionic order columns that support a pedimented entablature.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
