Dromoland Castle

The Latoon fairy bush, or Latoon fairy tree, is a whitethorn tree situated beside the M18 motorway in Latoon, County Clare, Ireland that was the subject of a preservation campaign led by Irish folklorist Eddie Lenihan in 1999 to save it from being cut down when the motorway was being built. According to Lenihan, the tree is an "important meeting place for supernatural forces of the region". The campaign purportedly held up the construction of the motorway for 10 years. Lenihan warned that its destruction could have resulted in "death and great misfortune for motorists travelling on the proposed new road". The tree was eventually spared in May 1999, and still grows in situ as of 2024.

Ballyhannon Castle is a medieval Irish castle dating back to the 15th century, located near the village of Quin in County Clare, on the west coast of Ireland. It is fully intact and in the Irish Governmental records it is registered as a National Monument and "Listed/Protected" structure, intended to protect its historic, architectural and aesthetic significance.

The village is just outside the village of Quin and is to the south-east of Ennis. Previously it was served by the Ardsollus and Quin railway station which functioned from 1859 until 1963. The village lies in the civil parish of Tomfinlough. In past times the area was famous for its horse racing and equestrian fairs.

Ballycar Castle stood in the parish of Newmarket-on-Fergus, near the road between Limerick and Galway, 3 miles (5 km) from Sixmilebridge, 9 miles (14 km) from Limerick, and 7 miles (11 km) from Ennis it was said to have been built before 1570 and was a ruin before 1681 when it was sketched by Thomas Dineley.Ballycar Castle was said to have been built by Connor McHugh-McLoghlin-McNamara, but does not appear among the list of castles in 1570. In 1580 it belonged to Donogh O’Brien. The Castle, and two plowlands, of Ballycarhy were passed in the Earl of Thomond’s patent of 1620. In 1655, a lease of Ballycar Castle, &c., "as heretofore held by George Colpoys, deceased", was made by the Earl of Thomond to John Colpoys, with the condition to supply an armed Protestant horseman, provided for a month. This lease was converted in 1714 into a fee farm, and by the 1890s had passed to heirs female.The castle was a ruin when it was sketched by Thomas Dineley in 1680 and had disappeared by the 1890s. The house that had been built on the site (and which had last been occupied by a magistrate), was by then a roofless ruin.

Doora (Irish: Dúire) is a civil parish and village in County Clare, Ireland, just to the east of the town of Ennis. It is part of the Catholic parish of Doora Barefield. Parts of Doora are contained in the town of Ennis.

Quin (Irish: Cuinche, meaning 'five ways') is a village in southeast County Clare in Ireland and a Catholic parish and civil parish of the same name. The main attraction, Quin Abbey, is open to the public, and although mostly ruined, much of the structure remains. The abbey was built on the foundations of an earlier Norman castle, and the foundations of three corner towers can still be seen. The name of the village is a reference in ancient Irish to the original five roads out of the village. The village is located in a district sometimes known as Plassey.
