Kings Park station (LIRR)

Kings Park is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Smithtown, in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 17,282 as of the 2010 census.

Kings Park High School is a four-year secondary school located in Kings Park, New York, United States. It is the only high school for Kings Park Central School District, which serves the community of Kings Park, and students who attended Park View Elementary, Fort Salonga Elementary, Ralph J. Osgood Intermediate School, and William T. Rogers Middle School. KPHS went through construction from 2005 to 2007, remodeling the lobby and cafeteria and again in 2018 to update their auditorium, library, and computer labs. The school principal as of Fall 2022 is Neil Lederer.Kings Park High School's clubs include many Section XI sports teams. There are math and literature clubs. There are a range of music and theater clubs, including honor societies and stage and tech crew. Other clubs include peer support and independent science research.

The Kings Park Psychiatric Center, known by Kings Park locals as "Kings Park Asylum", is a former state-run psychiatric hospital located in Kings Park, New York. It operated from 1885 until 1996, when the State of New York closed the facility, releasing its few remaining patients or transferring them to the still-operational Pilgrim Psychiatric Center.

Sunken Meadow State Park, also known as Governor Alfred E. Smith State Park, is a 1,287-acre (5.21 km2) state park located in the Town of Smithtown in Suffolk County, New York on the north shore of Long Island. The park, accessible via the Sunken Meadow State Parkway, contains the 27-hole Sunken Meadow State Park Golf Course.

Obadiah Smith House is a historic home located at Kings Park in Suffolk County, New York. It was built about 1708 and is a two-story, heavy timber frame, five-bay center entrance dwelling, with a side gable roof and interior end chimneys. It is operated as a house museum by the Smithtown Historical Society.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Nissequogue River State Park is a 521-acre (2.11 km2) state park located on the banks and bluffs of the Nissequogue River in Kings Park, New York. The park was opened in 2000, and established on the waterfront portion of the former Kings Park Psychiatric Center. The name of the park was originally assigned to what is today the Caleb Smith State Park Preserve.

The Nissequogue River is an 8.3-mile (13.4 km) long river flowing from Smithtown, New York into the Long Island Sound. Its average discharge of 42.2 cubic feet per second (1.19 m3/s) is the most of any of the freshwater rivers on Long Island. The river, like all other freshwater rivers on the island, is totally derived from groundwater (not from lakes). Its name is derived from one of the Algonquian-speaking Nissequaq tribe in the area.The river rises south of NY-454 just east of the Hauppauge County Offices and flows into Blydenburgh Park Pond where other tributaries that come from East Hauppauge and Commack meet and are dammed at Blydenburgh Pond. The river continues in a northeasterly direction, picking up additional tributaries from the north in Caleb Smith Park in Smithtown (where special regulation trout fishing is available). It is dammed once more before becoming an estuary at NY-25 where it then flows to Kings Park, New York, entering Long Island Sound at Nissequogue River State Park. Since much of the river is an estuary canoeists travel in both directions based on the tides. Fish found in the river include Striped Bass, Bluefish, Summer Flounder, Winter Flounder, Porgies, Eels, Brown, Rainbow and Brook Trout, Yellow Perch, Largemouth Bass, Alewives, Herring, Shad, etc.

San Remo is a hamlet in the Town of Smithtown in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. It is located within the Smithtown CDP.

St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center is a 296-bed not-for-profit hospital located on Long Island in Smithtown, New York. The hospital opened in 1962 as St. John's Smithtown Hospital and its name was changed to its present in 1999. It is a major regional clinical campus for clinical clerkships and postgraduate medical training affiliated with the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, one of the largest medical schools in the United States. Since 2000, the hospital has been operated by Catholic Health.

Commack Union Free School District is a public school district located in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The school district straddles the towns of Huntington and Smithtown, with Townline Road as the dividing line. It serves the residents of Commack as well as parts of Dix Hills, Smithtown and East Northport. It served approximately 6,000 students during the 2018–2019 school year. There are four primary schools (grades K–2), two intermediate schools (grades 3–5), one middle school (grades 6–8) and one high school (grades 9–12).

Caleb Smith State Park Preserve is a state park located in Suffolk County, New York in the United States. The park is near the north shore of Long Island in the town of Smithtown. Prior to its current name, the park was called Nissequogue River State Park, a name now used for park lands on the former Kings Park Psychiatric Center grounds. Previously, it was simply known as the Wyandanch Preserve.

B. Ketchum House is a historic home located in Fort Salonga in the Town of Huntington in Suffolk County, New York. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, six-bay shingled dwelling. The main entrance features a four-pane transom, simple molded surround, and gable-roof canopy. It was built about 1765 on what is today the northwest corner of Middleville Road and Bread-and-Cheese Hollow Road, and representative of the early settlement of Huntington.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
