Chalcedon ( or ; Greek: Χαλκηδών, sometimes transliterated as Chalkedon) was an ancient maritime town of Bithynia, in Asia Minor. It was located almost directly opposite Byzantium, south of Scutari (modern Üsküdar) and it is now a district of the city of Istanbul named Kadıköy. The name Chalcedon is a variant of Calchedon, found on all the coins of the town as well as in manuscripts of Herodotus's Histories, Xenophon's Hellenica, Arrian's Anabasis, and other works. Except for the Maiden's Tower, almost no above-ground vestiges of the ancient city survive in Kadıköy today; artifacts uncovered at Altıyol and other excavation sites are on display at the Istanbul Archaeological Museum. The site of Chalcedon is located on a small peninsula on the north coast of the Sea of Marmara, near the mouth of the Bosphorus. A stream, called the Chalcis or Chalcedon in antiquity and now known as the Kurbağalıdere (Turkish: stream with frogs), flows into Fenerbahçe Bay. There, Greek colonists from Megara in Attica founded the settlement of Chalcedon in 685 BC, some seventeen years before Byzantium. The Greek name of the ancient town is from its Phoenician name qart-ħadaʃt, meaning "New Town", whence Karkhēd(ōn), as similarly is the name of Carthage. The mineral chalcedony is named after the city.

Caferağa Sports Hall, (Turkish: Caferağa Spor Salonu) is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Kadıköy, Istanbul, Turkey and opened in 1982. It is owned by the Municipality of Kadıköy and operated by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of Istanbul Province.The arena with an audience capacity of 2850, hosts beside national and international sports events such as basketball, table tennis, volleyball, wrestling and weightlifting, concerts and congresses.

Fenerbahçe Rowing is the men's and women's rowing section of Fenerbahçe S.K., a major sports club in Istanbul, Turkey. Fenerbahçe Rowers use the Dereağzı Facilities as homeground. Founded in 1914, both the men's and women's rowing teams are the most successful in Turkey, having won the Turkish Men's Rowing Championship a record 35 times and the Women's Rowing Championship a record 18 times, amongst others.

Besides providing blues and jazz music which gives the place its name, it additionally offers a combination of rock music covers by famous Turkish musicians and a weekly free stage night for newcomer musicians. Its late night drinking and disco style entertainment is one of the few on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. Its location in regional town and city centre Kadikoy has been a focus of some contribution to late night disorder in this area, prompting a recent zero tolerance approach to drunkenness in this licensed premise. Whittall MansionTurkish: Whittall Köşkü) is an Ottoman-era mansion in Istanbul, Turkey. It was built in 1900. Today, it is the house museum of the rock musician Barış Manço (1943 - 1999).
