Wright Hotel is a historic hotel at 201 East Market Street in Chatsworth, in Murray County, Georgia, that was built in 1909. It is a two-story brick building with two-story porches. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Its NRHP nomination notes that the hotelreflects its local, vernacular, do-it-yourself origins. Built by its owner-operator, Thomas Monroe Wright, and his cousin, Thomas Banks, a builder from Cleveland, Tennessee, it shows few signs of high style architecture. Local materials were used as much as possible. Bricks were manufactured a few blocks away at the now defunct Chatsworth Brick Company. Timber was cut from Mr. Wright's nearby farm and aged for a year before being used in the hotel construction. The surrounding two-story porches made excellent use of one of the area's greatest resources, cool mountain air. The ten foot deep foundation and twelve inch thick exterior walls reflect the care with which Mr. Wright constructed the building. The hotel's modest scale, simplicity of design and structural solidity give it real integrity. The building no longer functions as a hotel, but it has survived remarkably intact."

Murray County Courthouse in Chatsworth, Georgia was built in 1916. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. It has an elevated position and can be viewed from afar.A 1980 architectural survey identified it as one of only two Palladian architecture applications among Georgia courthouses. The other is the Old Effingham County Courthouse in Springfield, Georgia. The survey asserted it "is the most important architectural structure in Chatsworth."

Its population was 4,874 at the 2020 census, up from 4,299 in 2010. The city is the site of the coldest recorded temperature in Georgia, −17 °F (−27 °C) on January 27, 1940.According to a popular legend, the town received its name after a road sign with the word "Chatsworth" fell off a passing freight train nearby. Someone put the sign on a post, and the name stuck.

Murray County High School (MCHS) is a public high school located in Chatsworth, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Murray County School District. The school colors are green and white, and its mascot is the Indian. In athletics, it competes as a Division AA school in the Georgia High School Association.

Fort Mountain is a mountain in northern Georgia, just east of Chatsworth. It is part of the Cohutta Mountains, a small mountain range at the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains. It also lies within the Chattahoochee National Forest. A main feature of Fort Mountain is an ancient rock formation or ruin of unknown origin, from which the mountain takes its name. The site lies within Fort Mountain State Park and consists of a series of stone piles lying in a long uneven line that follows the contour of the mountainside. Estimates of its length vary. In a previously published archaeological report, Philip E. Smith (University Of Georgia) gives 928 feet (283 m) as its length, while the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (State Parks Division) estimates the length as 855 feet (261 m).A stone fire tower, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and located in the park, marks the summit of the mountain. A hiking path around the park leads up to a scenic overlook of Cool Springs Valley. The park also has a mountain lake, cabins, camping, and public facilities. Two main highways cross Fort Mountain connecting the counties of Murray and Gilmer, Georgia. A steep, curving scenic route, Georgia SR 52, runs east-west between Chatsworth and Ellijay, affording views of the Cohutta Mountains; there is at least one overlook with parking. Organizations located on that route include Fort Mountain State Park and Global Youth Ministry. Southeast of Chatsworth, SR 282 crosses the mountain, running concurrently with SR 2/US 76 from Ramhurst to East Ellijay.

Eton is a town in Murray County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Dalton, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 824 at the 2020 census, down from 910 in 2010.

Fort Mountain State Park is a 3,712-acre (15.02 km2) Georgia state park located between Chatsworth and Ellijay on Fort Mountain. The state park was founded in 1938 and is named for an ancient 885-foot-long (270 m) rock wall located on the peak. The nomination form for the National Register of Historic Places describes the wall as "more of a marker than a fortification, separating the north peak from the southern end."

North Murray High School is a high school located in Chatsworth, Murray County, Georgia, United States. It is part of the Murray County School System. North Murray's mascot is the Mountaineer, and North Murray is the only high school in Georgia to have that mascot. The school colors are black and gold. North Murray High School offers many athletic programs, career pathways, and a host of clubs and extracurricular activities. Athletics Director is Steve Granger, the head football coach is Coach Preston Poag, and the offensive coordinator for football is Cody Rainey. The head boys' basketball coach is Tim Ellis, the head girls' basketball coach is Randy Watson, the track coach is Kyle Trego, the field Coach is Jacob Ledford, and the head golf coach is Cody Rainey. Seth Hickman coaches baseball, and the head softball coach is Steve Granger. Amanda Bynum is the head tennis coach, Matt Chambers coaches North Murray's boys soccer team, and Rolando Ambriz coaches North Murray's girls soccer team.In 2012, the Mountaineer archery team won the school's second state championship. In 2016, the Mountaineer football team made the state playoffs for the first time in school history, with a record of 9–3.

The Chief Vann House is the first brick residence in the Cherokee Nation, and has been called the "Showplace of the Cherokee Nation". Owned by the Cherokee Chief James Vann, the Vann House is a Georgia Historic Site on the National Register of Historic Places and one of the oldest remaining structures in the northern third of the state of Georgia. It is located in Murray County, on the outskirts of Chatsworth in northwest Georgia, which has a commanding view of the land around it and of the Cohutta Mountains, about 10 miles (16 km) to the east.
