Ashton Vale

The Bristol City Stadium (tentative name) was a proposed football stadium, announced in November 2007, which would be built on land at Ashton Vale, Bristol, England, and would replace Ashton Gate Stadium as the home stadium of Bristol City F.C. Due to legal issues, the club cancelled the project, instead deciding to renovate Ashton Gate.

Greatest Hits Radio Somerset (West Somerset) is an Independent Local Radio station serving Warminster, Westbury / Trowbridge in West Wiltshire / Frome in East Somerset. The station, formerly known as The Breeze (Frome and West Somerset), was folded into Greatest Hits Radio South West, as part of a rebrand, on 1 September 2020.

Ashton Gate is a suburb of Bristol, United Kingdom, in the Southville ward of Bristol City Council. A toll house at the western end of North Street still survives and indicates the origin of the area's name as a gate on the road to Ashton (now known as Long Ashton). Once part of the estate of the Smyth family of Ashton Court, the area had ironworks and collieries in the nineteenth century, also a tobacco factory and a brewery. There is still some manufacturing industry and retail parks and in 2003 the Bristol Beer Factory recommenced brewing in the former brewery site. Ashton Gate railway station closed in 1964. Major attractions in the area include Ashton Gate stadium, the home of professional sports teams Bristol City (football) the Bristol Bears (rugby union), the shopping and leisure facilities of North Street, the Tobacco Factory theatre. Ashton Gate primary school serves the local preteen population.Whitemead House multi-storey council flats on Duckmoor Road, which overlook the Ashton Gate stadium, are notable for being the exterior filming location of the tower block where Delboy and Rodney lived in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses; these flats were used as their home's exterior after 1988.

Ashton Gate railway station was a railway station serving the Ashton Gate area of Bristol, England, which included Ashton Gate football ground, the home ground of Bristol City F.C. It was located on the Portishead Railway. Recent proposals have been made for the station to reopen as part of the MetroWest project to improve rail transport in the Greater Bristol area.

Ashton Park School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in the Bower Ashton area of Bristol, England.

Greville Smyth Park is a late-Victorian public park in the Ashton Gate area of Bristol, England. Covering roughly 25.5 acres (10.3 ha) beside the River Avon, it provides formal sports pitches, a bowling green, children’s play spaces and a small nature garden. The park is managed by Bristol City Council in partnership with the community group Friends of Greville Smyth Park (FROGS).

Bedminster Down School is a mixed gender secondary school with academy status, located in the Bishopsworth area of Bristol, England.

The Pavilions is a Grade II listed office complex at Bedminster Down, Bristol, England. Designed by Arup Associates, it was erected between 1975 and 1978 to consolidate the southwest regional operations of the Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB) into a singular headquarters building. Its seven low-rise pavilions, arranged around landscaped courtyards, were conceived as an exemplar of energy-efficient workplace planning and retain much of their original fabric. The building and its contemporaneous designed landscape were both added to the National Heritage List for England in 2015.

Bower Ashton is a village in south west Bristol on the western boundary with North Somerset, lying within the Southville ward, approximately two miles from the city centre. Ashton Court estate, a 850-acre (3.4 km2) recreational area owned by Bristol City Council lies just to the north, the Long Ashton by-pass (Brunel Way, the A370) to the south and the River Avon to the east. The area is now mainly residential but also includes the Faculty of Arts, Creative Industries and Education (formerly the School of Creative Arts) of the University of the West of England, Ashton Park School, which is a specialist Sports College, as well as about 180 allotments in 5 different areas. Clifton Bridge and Ashton Gate railway stations are both now closed, but there is some pressure to reopen the latter as part of a rapid transit link from Portishead.

Bedminster Down is a suburban neighbourhood of Bristol, England, built largely in the 1930s. It extends from Bedminster to Ashton, Bishopsworth, Highridge and Uplands, and is a largely residential area. Bedminster Down is a middle-class area and some of the area is built over disused coal mines. The Parish Church, built in 1927, is dedicated to St Oswald. The Methodist church in the area shut down in August 2008. The Methodist church consisted of two buildings, the main chapel and a church hall. The main chapel is currently in use as a community arts centre.
