Abbey Street

The Adelphi Cinema was a city centre film theatre on Middle Abbey Street, in Dublin, Ireland from 1939 to 1995.

The Academy is a music venue located in Dublin, Ireland. It consists of four floors, each for differing music tastes. The Academy was the venue where The Killers performed an intimate show in August 2008, one night before a performance in Marlay Park. Others to have played the venue in 2008 include Black Kids, Sam Sparro, The Futureheads and Stereophonics. Staind, Lily Allen, Maxïmo Park, Gomez, The Cribs, Buzzcocks and Calvin Harris played in 2009. The venue screened the 2009 UEFA Champions League Final before a performance by The Maccabees on 27 May 2009. The Coronas played the venue on 4 June, with support acts being Dirty Epics and The Chakras. James played an Oxegen 2009 warm-up show in The Academy on 8 July. Fight Like Apes performed inside a specially constructed wrestling ring at an end of year show in 2009.

The Irish Music Hall of Fame was a multimedia exhibition in Dublin, Ireland which operated between 1999 and 2001. Associated with the Hot Press music magazine, the commercially-operated museum contained memorabilia from a number of Irish musicians including Van Morrison, U2, Sinéad O'Connor, Rory Gallagher, Bob Geldof and The Cranberries.First opened in 1999, the museum closed in late 2001 with losses estimated at approximately €1.5 million. Material from the museum later formed part of a touring exhibition until 2005, with some memorabilia also used in the "Irish Rock 'n' Roll Museum Experience" in Temple Bar which opened in 2015.

Arnotts is a department store on Henry Street in Dublin, Leinster, Ireland. It was designed by G.P. Beater for John Arnott, and opened in 1895; it replaced the first store on the grounds founded by George Cannock, Andrew White, and Andrew and Patrick Reid in 1845, which burned down in 1894. The store is owned by the Selfridges Group, which itself is jointly owned by the Thai conglomerate Central Group and Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund. It is sister stores with the Brown Thomas, De Bijenkorf, and Selfridges department stores through this ownership.

Liffey Street (Irish: Sráid na Life) is a street on the northside of Dublin, Ireland named for its location leading towards the River Liffey. The street is split into the northernmost Liffey Street Upper and Liffey Street Lower to its south, which are separated by a dogleg corner at Abbey Street. Originally, there was also a further northern extension of the street, which was named Liffey Street Upper; however, this was renamed Denmark Street in 1773 and referred to as Little Denmark Street to differentiate it from nearby Great Denmark Street. It was possibly named for the sister of George III; Caroline Matilda, who had married the Danish king Christian VII in 1766, becoming Queen of Denmark, was divorced in 1772 and died in 1775. Following this renaming, the original Liffey Street Middle began to be called Liffey Street Upper. Little Denmark Street was later entirely erased in the 1970s for the construction of the Ilac Centre. As of 2025, the street is mainly a retail street with a variety of shops, pubs, hotels, restaurants and eateries.

The Bachelor's Walk massacre occurred in Dublin, on 26 July 1914, when a column of troops of the King's Own Scottish Borderers was accosted by a crowd on Bachelor's Walk following the Howth gun-running operation. After some verbal baiting, the troops attacked "hostile but unarmed" protesters with rifle fire and bayonets – resulting in the deaths of four civilians and injuries to in excess of 30 more. One of those shot was Luke Kelly, the father of folk singer Luke Kelly. The events followed the landing of 1,500 rifles and ammunition, purchased for the Irish Volunteers in Hamburg in May 1914. In a counter operation to the Unionists running guns into Ulster, Erskine Childers landed the cargo in Howth and a thousand rifle-carrying Irish Volunteers marched into Dublin. The quantity was negligible when compared to the far greater numbers of weapons landed and distributed by the Ulster Volunteers, completely without hindrance, but the reaction this time was severe from the British ruling authorities. The incident proved a moment of political opportunity for Irish nationalists as it sharply brought out the different treatment for the Unionists and for unarmed Dublin civilians. Patrick Pearse declared, "The army is an object of odium, and the Volunteers are the heroes of the hour. The whole movement, the whole country, has been re-baptised by bloodshed for Ireland."

Henry Street (Irish: Sráid Anraí) is located on Dublin's Northside and is one of the two principal shopping streets of Dublin (the other being Grafton Street).

The Capitol Theatre, was located in Prince's Street, just off O'Connell Street, Dublin and began life on 10 August 1920 as the La Scala Theatre and Opera House designed by architect T.F. McNamara it had two balconies in the 1,900 seat auditorium with 32 private boxes. Despite its name, the La Scala was a cinema. Paramount Pictures took over the lease on the building and renamed it the Capitol in 1927. Under new management, the Capitol ran a live show every week to accompany the current film. Well-known Irish acts to appear in these shows included Peggy Dell, Martin Crosbie, brother of Paddy Crosbie, creator of the School Around the Corner, and Sean Mooney. The last stage show was on 29 October 1953. The Capitol continued as a cinema until 1972. It was demolished along with the adjacent Metropole Cinema and a branch of the department store chain British Home Stores was built on the site. This in turn closed and was replaced by a branch of the Irish Penneys chain.

The General Post Office (GPO; Irish: Ard-Oifig an Phoist) in Dublin is the headquarters of An Post, the Irish Post Office, and Dublin's principal post office. Sited in the centre of O'Connell Street, the city's main thoroughfare, it is one of Ireland's most famous buildings, not least because it served as the headquarters of the leaders of the Easter Rising. It was the last of the great Georgian public buildings erected in the capital.

Moore Street (; Irish: Sráid Uí Mhúraigh) is a street in central Dublin, Ireland, off Henry Street, one of Ireland's main shopping streets. The famous Moore Street open-air fruit and vegetable market is Dublin's oldest food market. The market there is a famous landmark on the northside of the city.

The Ha'penny Bridge ( HAYP-nee; Irish: Droichead na Leathphingine, or Droichead na Life), known later for a time as the Penny Ha'penny Bridge, and officially the Liffey Bridge, is a pedestrian bridge built in May 1816 over the River Liffey in Dublin, Ireland. Made of cast iron, the bridge was cast in Shropshire, England.

Bachelors Walk is a street and quay on the north bank of the Liffey, Dublin, Ireland. It runs between Liffey Street Lower (to the west) and O'Connell Street Lower and O'Connell Bridge (to the east). It was the setting for the eponymous TV series.
