MAKS (Russian: МАКС, short for: Международный авиационно-космический салон, romanized: Mezhdunarodnyj aviatsionno-kosmicheskij salon, lit. '"International Aviation and Space Show"') is an international air show held at Zhukovsky International Airport, the home of the Gromov Flight Research Institute in Zhukovsky, 40 km (25 mi) southeast of Moscow, Russia. The event was organized by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade until 2009, more recently by the Government of Moscow and Aviasalon. The first show, Mosaeroshow-92, was held in 1992. Since 1993, the air show was renamed as MAKS and is held biennially on odd years. MAKS is an important event for the Russian aviation industry and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Although it started mainly as an entertainment event, the show soon became a marketplace where Russian aerospace companies could negotiate export contracts and Russian air carriers could make foreign contacts.The 2023 MAKS event was scheduled for July 25-30 2023, but has been postponed to 2024, allegedly because of security concerns.

Zhukovsky (IATA: ZIA, ICAO: UUBW) (Russian: Жуковский), formerly (and still occasionally) known as Ramenskoye (Russian: Раменское) is an international airport, located in Moscow Oblast, Russia, 36 km (22 mi) southeast of central Moscow, in the city of Zhukovsky, a few kilometers south-east of the closed Bykovo Airport.

Meteor Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Zhukovsky, Russia. It is used mostly for football matches, on club level by FC Saturn-2 Moscow Oblast of the Russian Second Division. It is also used for athletics competitions, including the Znamensky Memorial. The stadium has a capacity of 7,500 spectators.

Population: 8,277 (2010 Census); 6,855 (2002 Census); 6,295 (1989 Census).Zoe Williams of The Guardian wrote that Kratovo "resembles a Russian Guildford with high hedges, gigantic trees, the careful, botanical planning of expensive privacy." and that the locality "has a reputation for being full of former KGB safe houses, though I couldn’t find one Moscovite who would vouch for that."

Zhukovsky (Russian: Жуковский, Russian pronunciation: [ʐʊˈkofskʲɪj]) is a city in Moscow Oblast, Russia, located on the Moskva River, 40 kilometers (25 mi) southeast of Moscow. Population: 104,736 (2010 Census); 101,328 (2002 Census); 100,609 (1989 Census).

The Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute (also (Zhukovsky) Central Institute of Aerodynamics, Russian: Центра́льный аэрогидродинами́ческий институ́т, ЦАГИ, romanized: Tsentral'nyy Aerogidrodinamicheskiy Institut, TsAGI) was founded in Moscow by Russian aviation pioneer Nikolai Yegorovich Zhukovsky on December 1, 1918.

Ilyinsky (Russian: Ильинский) is an urban-type settlement in Ramensky District, Moscow Oblast, Russia, located 17 kilometres (11 mi) southeast from Moscow in a forested area near the town of Zhukovsky on both sides of the Ilyinskaya railway station (Kazan direction). Population: 11,341 (2019), 10,279 (2010 Census); 7,995 (2002 Census); 8,450 (1989 Census).

Ramensky District (Russian: Ра́менский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the thirty-six in Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southeastern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,397.46 square kilometers (539.56 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Ramenskoye. Population: 256,375 (2010 Census); 217,939 (2002 Census); 153,215 (1989 Census). The population of Ramenskoye accounts for 66.2% of the district's total population.The cities of Zhukovsky and Bronnitsy with localities under their jurisdictions, while surrounded by the district's territory, are administratively and municipally separate from it (Zhukovsky since 1952 and Bronnitsy since 1992).

Ramenskoye (Russian: Ра́менское, Russian pronunciation: [ˈramʲɪnskəjə]) is a town and the administrative center of Ramensky District in Moscow Oblast, Russia, located 46 kilometers (29 mi) southeast of Moscow.

Saturn Stadium is a football stadium in Ramenskoye, Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is the home ground of third-tier side FC Saturn Ramenskoye and has also used by Torpedo Moscow. The stadium holds 14,685 and was built in 1999. For the 2013–14 season and the first half of the 2014-15 season, Torpedo played at the Saturn Stadium instead of its home ground as a cost-saving measure amidst financial difficulties. This made Saturn Stadium the first Russian Premier League stadium built after the Soviet era. Since then, most stadiums in the league are even more modern grounds, built in accordance with 2018 FIFA World Cup standards.

The Pekhorka (Russian: Пехо́рка) is a river in the Moscow Region in Russia, a left tributary of the Moskva. It is 42 kilometres (26 mi) long, and has a drainage basin of 523 square kilometres (202 sq mi).Flows from the north point in 1,5 km from Lukino village to the south, where it passes Moscow through Izmailovo, Kuskovo and Kosino (that part of the river in Moscow is about 10 km). Three ponds - one on the north of Lukino, one near Pekhra-Pokrovskoye village and one in Balashiha-2 microdistrict. Balashikha and Zheleznodorozhniy cities are located on the river as well as Tomilino and Kraskovo settlements. Name etymology probably comes from the Old Slavonic «Ṕh» (Cyrillic: «пьх») with the «ur» (Cyrillic: «ъръ») suffix which means «to push». River was included into the 1971 Moscow General Development Plant which constitutes special emphasis on the construction of Eastern Navigable Channel. This channel was intended to decongest the navigation through Moscow via Moscow River. Pekhorka would become a part of Lyubertsy Reservoir, the largest water basin in Moscow Region. Channel was never built.

Bykovo (Russian: Быко́во) is an urban locality (a work settlement) in Ramensky District of Moscow Oblast, located 34 kilometers (21 mi) southeast of Moscow. Population: 10,391 (2010 Census); 9,235 (2002 Census); 10,395 (1989 Census).
