Barntown Castle

Barntown (Irish: Baile an Bharúnaigh) is a townland and village in County Wexford, Ireland. Located just outside the town of Wexford, as of the 2022 census, Barntown had a population of 505 people.The remains of Barntown Castle, a Norman tower house, lie to the east of the village of Barntown. This was built by the Roche family, and was used as a watchtower and storehouse for Ferrycarrig Castle.St Alphonsus Church is the main church of the parish. It was designed by Augustus Welby Pugin, and built in 1848 by the Very Rev Patrick Murphy.Barntown was joined with the parish of cummers to found the Cummers-Barntown GAA club in 1885.

The Irish National Heritage Park is an open-air museum near Wexford which tells the story of human settlement in Ireland from the Mesolithic period up to the Norman Invasion in 1169. It has 16 reconstructed dwellings including a Mesolithic camp, a Neolithic farmstead, a portal dolmen, a cyst grave, stone circle, medieval ringfort, monastic site, crannóg, and a Viking harbour. It opened in 1987 and is open to the public 363 days of the year. It covers 13.7 hectares of parkland, estuary trails, and wetland forest. It is a not for profit organisation and all its receipts from admissions, restaurant, and shop sales go directly back into the running and maintenance of the park.The park offers guided tours led by costumed guides, as well as audio guides or self guiding options. The guided tour lasts about one and a half hours and ends at the reconstructed Viking harbour. The park also contains a restaurant and a gift shop. The Trials of Tuan are a set of activities for children throughout the park, culminating in panning for gold.

The R769 road is a regional road in Ireland, located in County Wexford. It forms the pre-bypass route of the N25 into Wexford town.

The Battle of Three Rocks was a United Irish victory during the Wexford Rebellion, a part of the 1798 rebellion, against a British artillery column marching to reinforce Wexford town against anticipated rebel attack.

Ferrycarrig Park has been the home of League of Ireland side Wexford Football Club since joining the league in 2007. The building works for the new stadium and facilities, at Newcastle, Crossabeg, have been ongoing since 2003. Currently spectator facilities consist of a clubhouse with viewing area and a 609 seater temporary stand. The plans for a permanent stand to seat over 2,000 people are in place. Building work is in progress on a fully equipped gym on the site. An application for retention of developments at the Wexford football complex was rejected by Wexford Planners in October 2007. This decision threatens the future development of the club and has slowed work on the complex considerably. The decision is in the appeals process at present. Access to the stadium is signposted from the N11. The signs along the roadside are small and care should be taken when approaching the junctions along the N11. The roads leading to the entrance to the ground are narrow and winding and caution is required. There is no direct access from the N11.

After a recent development the ground has a capacity of about 18,000. It is located in the Clonard area on the outskirts of Wexford Town. In 2015 a local technology company, Innovate Business Technology, signed a deal for the naming rights to the stadium. The new name unveiled was Innovate Wexford Park. In 2020 Chadwicks replaced Innovate as the name sponsor of the stadium.
