The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS) is an independent departmental corporation under Schedule II of the Financial Administration Act and is accountable to Parliament through the Minister of Labour.CCOHS is the primary national agency in Canada for the advancement of safe and healthy workplaces and preventing work-related injuries, illnesses and deaths. Additional work in this area is carried out by provincial and territorial labour departments and workers' compensation. CCOHS was created in 1978 by an Act of Parliament – Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety Act S.C., 1977–78, c. 29. The act was based on the belief that all Canadians had "...a fundamental right to a healthy and safe working environment". The centre, located in Hamilton, Ontario, is governed by a tripartite Council of Governors representing government (federal, provincial and territorial), employers, and workers. CCOHS promotes the total well-being—physical, psychosocial and mental health—of working Canadians by providing information, training, education, management systems and solutions. It makes credible information about workplace hazards and conditions easily and widely accessible to all Canadians - promoting safe and healthy workplaces.

The Royal Connaught Hotel is a 13-storey building in downtown Hamilton, Ontario. It was built by Harry Frost of Buffalo, New York in 1914, who also started up and owned the Frost Fence Company in Hamilton. It is located at the corner of King Street East and John Street South. From 2014-2018 it was converted to condominiums.

The 2003 UCI Road World Championships took place in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, between October 7 and October 12, 2003. The event consisted of a road race and a time trial for men, women, men under 23, junior men and junior women. David Millar was handed a two-year ban and stripped of his world time trial title by the British cycling federation for taking the banned performance enhancer EPO. Following this disqualification, the UCI declared Michael Rogers as the winner with the silver medal going to Uwe Peschel and the bronze to Michael Rich.

Hamilton is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Hamilton has a population of 569,353, and its census metropolitan area, which includes Burlington and Grimsby, has a population of 785,184. The Pigott Building is an 18-storey (210 feet or 64 metres) condominium building located at 36 James Street South in downtown Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This Art Deco/Gothic Revival style building was designed by Hamilton architects Bernard and Fred Prack and is designated under the Ontario Heritage Act.Built for $1,000,000, The Pigott Building was originally an office building and was Hamilton's first skyscraper. Named after the construction company that built it, the Pigott Construction Company, many of Hamilton's landmarks were built by the company. Some of these include the Canadian Westinghouse offices, the Bank of Montreal Building (1928) on James Street North, McMaster University (1930), Westdale Secondary School (1931), Cathedral of Christ the King (1933), the Burlington Bay James N. Allan Skyway bridge (1958), Hamilton City Hall (1960) and Copps Coliseum (1985) on York & Bay Streets.Pigott also built some of Canada's largest industrial plants and finest buildings: the Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto; Skylon Tower at Niagara Falls, Crown Life Insurance Company head office, Toronto; Bank of Canada, Ottawa; a plant for General Motors, Oshawa, and buildings for A. V. Roe Company in Malton. It was at this location that the Canadian Club Movement had its beginning on December 6, 1892.

The building was originally named the Bank of Montreal Pavilion, after the Bank of Montreal, the building's original anchor tenant.

Chateau Royale (formerly known as the Undermount Offices at Alexandra Square) is a mixed-use residential condominium and commercial complex located at 135 James Street South, in the downtown core of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The building is located in the centre of the city, bound by James Street to the west, and the Hamilton GO Centre to the north. The former office complex opened in 1966, and the newly formed residential tower officially opened in 2006.

Lloyd D. Jackson Square, also known as Jackson Square, is an indoor shopping mall, commercial, and entertainment complex located in the downtown core of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, which is named after Lloyd Douglas Jackson, who served as mayor of the city from 1950 to 1962. The civic square is located in the centre of the city, bounded by several major roads: King Street (south), Bay Street (west), York Boulevard (north) and James Street (east), with the appointed address being 2 King Street West. The mall opened in 1972.
