Dunamon is a civil parish in County Galway, Ireland. The main land-owning family in the locality were the Caulfeilds.

Padraig Pearses GAA Club (Irish: CLG Padraig Mac Phiarsaigh) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parishes of Moore, Taughmaconnell and Creagh in County Roscommon, Ireland. They play in red and white colours and their home pitch is at Woodmount (Ton na lig), Creagh. The club was founded in 1962 and was an amalgamation of the two former junior clubs, Moore and Taughmaconnell. Initially only men's Gaelic football was played, with the playing of hurling restricted to the Creagh area of the club's catchment. Eventually the club grew to cater for all GAA field codes including Ladies Gaelic football and Camogie Padraig Pearses fields underage teams in almost all codes from U-8 to U-21 as well as Senior and Junior teams, in addition the club is active in the GAA Cultural Competitions of Scór and Scor ná nÓg. Pearses Senior hurler won the 2017 Roscommon senior title for the first time in thirty years. The senior football team contested the Roscommon Senior Championship finals in 2015 and 2016 losing out on both days to Clan Na Gael and St Brigids. The senior football team won its first Roscommon Senior Championship final in 2019 defeating Roscommon Gaels on a scoreline of 2-10 to 1-10 and its second in 2021 defeating Clann na nGael on a scoreline of 2-08 to 0-11. That Team went on to win the club's first Connacht Senior Club Championship defeating Knockmore of Mayo by 1-13 to 1-11 in the final becoming only the 5th Roscommon club to hold a Senior Connacht title. The Senior Footballer's last won the Roscommon Championship in 2024 defeating Roscommon Gaels in the final. The club has provided players to county teams in both hurling and football at all levels. Niall Carty was selected to captain the Roscommon senior footballers for 2014 and 2015.

Woodmount is a village in the civil parish of Creagh in south County Roscommon, Ireland. It is approximately 3.5 miles east of the town of Ballinasloe, County Galway, and approximately 800 metres north of the old N6 Athlone to Ballinasloe road. The village is in the townlands of Tonalig and Clooneen. The clubhouse and playing fields of Padraig Pearses GAA Roscommon club have been situated in Woodmount since 1983.

Creagh National School (Irish: Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál) is a primary school in Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland. Originally founded in 1939, it is a Catholic boys and girls national school located on the outskirts of Ballinasloe in the civil parish of Creagh. As of 2019, the school had 415 pupils and approximately thirty staff, making it the largest national school (by number of pupils) in the Ballinasloe catchment area.

Tulrush is a small townland on the River Suck near Ballinasloe, Ireland. It is approximately 0.84 square kilometres (0.32 sq mi) in area and located in the historical barony of Moycarn in County Roscommon. As of the 2011 census, Tulrush townland had a population of 16 people. As it is on the eastern bank of the River Suck, Tulrush is a part of County Roscommon. It is a part of civil parish of Creagh, which spans into County Galway. Tulrush was listed alongside Galway townlands in Griffith's valuation of 1868. Tulrush is bounded on one side by the River Suck, main tributary to the River Shannon which it joins approx 6 miles (9.7 km) further on at Shannonbridge. Two River Suck fords (one at Pollboy and the other named "Riley's") were local crossing points. These fords were used in 1691 during the Williamite War in Ireland by the army of the Jacobite general Marquis de St Ruth, moving from the Siege of Athlone to take part in the Battle of Aughrim, where he was defeated by the Williamite general Godert de Ginkell. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the River Suck ford between Tulrush and Pollboy was crossable for carts via a wooden bridge and widely used to access the mill on the Pollboy side. This mill was demolished in the 1990s to facilitate the new N6 motorway and riverboat passage. A village/community of houses existed in the 19th century on the edge of Tulrush Bog and near Tulrush Hill. The last residents left there in the 1950s. Ownership and control of the majority of the land in Tulrush rested with a landlord, the remnants of whose house are still visible overlooking the River Suck and facing towards Ballinasloe. Hamilton Barrett, the last landlord, died in the early 1940s, and his lands (approx 250 acres (1.0 km2) of grazing, arable, callow) were taken over by the Land Commission and divided between four local families. The M6 motorway passes through Tulrush with an entry ramp, near this point.

Ballinasloe ( bal-na-SLOH; Irish: Béal Átha na Sluaighe, meaning 'mouth of the ford of the crowds') is a town in the easternmost part of County Galway, Ireland, situated on the River Suck, which forms the boundary with County Roscommon. Located at an ancient crossing point on the river, evidence of ancient settlement in the area includes a number of Bronze Age sites. Built around a 12th-century castle, which defended the fording point, the modern town of Ballinasloe was "founded" in the early 13th century. As of the 2022 census, it was one of the largest towns in County Galway, with a population of 6,597 people.

Ballinasloe Town Hall Theatre (Irish: Amharclann Halla an Bhaile Béal Átha na Sluaighe) is a theatre located in Society Street, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland. Originally built in 1842 as an agricultural hall, it has a 400-seat auditorium. Ballinasloe Town Hall Theatre is operated by the local community of Ballinasloe and is run by a voluntary committee.

St Grellan's Gaelic Football Club (Irish: Cumann Peile Ghrealláin Naofa) was a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland. The team was named in honour of Saint Grellan, patron saint of Ballinasloe. St Grellan's GFC were the first club to win a record seven Galway county football titles in a row from 1913 to 1919 and were undefeated in the county championship from 1913 to 1930. In 1980, they were also the first Galway Club to reach an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship in 1980. On 1 December 2005, St Grellan's merged with Ballinasloe Hurling Club to form Ballinasloe GAA.

Ballinasloe GAA (Irish: CLG Bhéal Átha na Sluaighe) is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Ballinasloe, County Galway, in the west of Ireland. It is a member of the Galway GAA branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association.

Old Town (Irish: an Seanbhaile) is a small village in the townland of Cloonfad in County Roscommon, Ireland. It is located on the R357 road between Ballinasloe, County Galway and Shannonbridge, County Offaly. The village post office, which had been operated by the Kenny family for many generations, closed in January 2008. The church for the area is known as Clonfad Church, in the Parish of Moore.
