Trøndelag (Urban East Norwegian: [ˈtrœ̂ndəˌlɑːɡ]; Southern Sami: Trööndelage) is a county in the central part of Norway. It was created in 1687, then named Trondhjem County (Norwegian: Trondhjems Amt); in 1804 the county was split into Nord-Trøndelag and Sør-Trøndelag by the King of Denmark-Norway, and the counties were reunited in 2018 after a vote of the two counties in 2016.The largest city in Trøndelag is the city of Trondheim. The administrative centre is Steinkjer, while Trondheim functions as the office of the county mayor. Both cities serve the office of the county governor; however, Steinkjer houses the main functions.Trøndelag county and the neighbouring Møre og Romsdal county together form what is known as Central Norway. A person from Trøndelag is called a trønder. The dialect spoken in the area, trøndersk, is characterized by dropping out most vowel endings; see apocope. Trøndelag is one of the most fertile regions of Norway, with large agricultural output. The majority of the production ends up in the Norwegian cooperative system for meat and milk, but farm produce is a steadily growing business.

The Trondheim Synagogue (Norwegian: Synagogen i Trondheim) in Trondheim, Norway is the second-northernmost synagogue in the world (after the synagogue in Fairbanks, Alaska). The present synagogue has served the Jewish community since its inauguration on October 13, 1925. It was built to replace the first synagogue in Trondheim, the St Jørgensveita Synagogue, which was opened in 1899.

Trondhjem Station (Norwegian: Trondhjem stasjon, original spelling: Throndhjem), sometimes called Kalvskinnet to distinguish it from Trondheim Central Station on Brattøra. Kalvskinnet was the first central railway station in Trondheim, Norway. It opened on 5 August 1864 as the terminal station of the narrow gauge Trondhjem–Støren Line. The station was designed by Georg Andreas Bull, and still exists as one of the world's northernmost synagogues, after it was replaced by Trondheim Central Station in 1884 to become Trondheim Synagogue.

The Trondheim Art Museum (Norwegian: Trondheim Kunstmuseum, previously Trøndelag Kunstgalleri) is an art museum located in Trondheim in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The museum shows temporary exhibitions of international and regional art in dialogue with works from the museum's collection. The museum possesses Norway's third largest public art collection with an emphasis on art since 1850. The permanent collection contains iconic works such as Harald Sohlberg's Natt (Røros church) (1904), Georg Jacobsen's Haren (1922), and Peder Balke's Nordkapp (1870s). The Trondheim Art Museum has two venues, TKM Bispegata (Bispegata 7 b) situated near the Nidaros Cathedral and TKM Gråmølna at Nedre Elvehavn. The main building in Bispegata 7 b was built in 1930 according to plans by architect Peter Daniel Hofflund. The Trondheim Art Museum was established in 1997, as a means to maintain the museum collection. The building has two floors with rooms of varied sizes and light. The building was refurbished in 2012, when artificial lights were installed to provide more stable temperature and lighting. Much of the interior was restored to its original state from 1930.

The Archbishop's Palace in Trondheim (Norwegian: Erkebispegården i Trondheim) is a castle and palace in the city of Trondheim, located just south of the Nidaros Cathedral. For hundreds of years, the castle was the seat, residence and administrative center of the Archbishop of Nidaros.

Trondheim, Norway is the seat of the Roman Catholic Territorial Prelature of Trondheim, which before March 1979 was the Apostolic Vicariate of Central Norway. The prelature leadership is currently under bishop Erik Varden. The prelature includes parishes in Trondheim, Kristiansund, Levanger, Molde, and Ålesund.

Birralee International School Trondheim is a certified Cambridge International School. It was founded in 1973 and is one of the oldest international schools in Norway. The Australian founder gave the school the name 'Birralee' meaning a 'safe place for children'. While a private school, the school is non-profit and co-educational.

The St. Olav's Cathedral (Norwegian: St. Olav domkirke) is the church home to the Prelature of Trondheim, belonging to the Catholic Church in Norway.It is built on the foundations of a cathedral designed by architect Per Kartvedt and was consecrated in 1973 to serve as the new church of the Vicariate of Trondheim. In 1979 it was elevated from Rome to the status of cathedral, while the vicarage was converted into a prelature. Bishop Bernt Ivar Eidsvig initiated a committee to plan a new cathedral in 2009 and the year after the architectural firm Eggen Arkitekter AS got the assignment. The previous church was demolished on 25 May 2014. The new church was finished in November 2016.

Norsk Døvemuseum ('Norwegian Deaf Museum') is a museum in Trondheim, Norway. It is a division of Trøndelag Folkemuseum. The museum is located in Rødbygget, which was drawn by Christian Heinrich Grosch. It was the first Neo-Gothic building in Trondheim, built in 1855. The museum was established in 1992, and rebuilt in 2009. Today the upper floors hold offices, and a café is located on the first floor.

Throndhjems Theater was a historic theatre in Trondheim in Norway, active between 1861 and 1865. It was the first permanent theatre in Trondhjem. Previously, theater in Tronhjem had consisted of travelling theatre companies and the amateur society Det Dramatiske Selskab, who had a theater building erected in 1816. Throndhjems Theater was housed in the Gamle Scene, the theatre building of the Det Dramatiske Selskab. The theater went bankrupt in 1865. It was eventually succeeded by Trondhjems Nationale Scene (1911-1926) and finally by the Trøndelag Teater.

Sør-Trøndelag County Municipality (Norwegian: Sør-Trøndelag fylkeskommune) was the regional governing administration of the old Sør-Trøndelag county in Norway until 1 January 2018 when it merged with Nord-Trøndelag county to form the new Trøndelag county. The main responsibilities of the county municipality included the running of 25 upper secondary schools. It administered the county roadways, public transport, dental care, culture, and cultural heritage.

Trondhjems nationale Scene was a theatre that opened in Trondheim in 1911, and closed in 1927. The theatre's first artistical director was Thora Hansson, from 1911 to 1913. The opening performance was held on 15 September 1911, with Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's play Sigurd Jorsalfar with Grieg's music, and Ibsen's play Fruen fra Havet was performed the next day. The theatre performed eighteen different plays the first season.After the theatre closed in 1927, it would take ten years until Trondheim again had a permanent theatre, when Trøndelag Teater opened in 1937.
