The Hopewell Project

The Sourlands is a region in the central portion of the U.S. state of New Jersey that includes portions of Hunterdon County, Mercer County, and Somerset County. It is centered on Sourland Mountain and comprises parts of Lambertville, East Amwell, West Amwell, Hillsborough, Hopewell Boro, Hopewell Township, and Montgomery Township. The region is flanked by the Hopewell Fault to the south and Amwell Valley to the north that runs from Mount Airy to an area just west of Flagtown and a diabase formation running from Lambertville to Mount Airy. The Sourland also include a hilly area towards the southwest called Pleasant Valley, with a number of farms. Although much of the Sourlands is not conducive to farming, Pleasant Valley and the slopes on the surrounding ridges have a number of farms. The slopes of the ridge to the north are also home to Unionville Vineyard.

Snydertown is an unincorporated community located within East Amwell Township in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The settlement is located on the southern face of Sourland Mountain at the intersection of Linvale Road and Snydertown Road. In the past, a mill operated in Snydertown.

Woodsville Brook is a tributary of the Stony Brook in Mercer County, New Jersey in the United States.

The New Market–Linvale–Snydertown Historic District is a 160-acre (65 ha) historic district located along NJ 31, Linvale, Snydertown, and Woodsville Roads in the communities of Linvale, formerly known as New Market, and Snydertown in the townships of East Amwell and West Amwell in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 12, 1998, for its significance in architecture, commerce, settlement, and community development. The district includes 33 contributing buildings, four contributing structures, and one contributing object.

Peters Brook is a tributary of Stony Brook in Mercer and Hunterdon counties, New Jersey in the United States.

Unionville Vineyard is a winery in the Unionville section of East Amwell in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Originally part of the largest peach orchard in the United States, the vineyard was first planted in 1988, and opened to the public in 1993. Unionville has 41 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 4,500 cases of wine per year. The winery is named for a former village near where the farm is located.

Linvale is an unincorporated community located along the border of East Amwell and West Amwell townships in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The community was historically known as New Market.

Hopewell Valley is a group of communities in Mercer County, New Jersey loosely affiliated through municipal service sharing agreements, all of which send their students to the Hopewell Valley Regional School District. The area referred to as Hopewell Valley comprises the township of Hopewell (2000 census population of 16,105), the Borough of Hopewell (2,035), the Borough of Pennington (2,696), and the unincorporated census-designated place Titusville (which is within Hopewell Township). The school district includes four elementary schools (Hopewell Elementary, Toll Gate Grammar, Bear Tavern, and the recently opened Stony Brook Elementary School), a middle school (Timberlane Middle School) and a high school (Hopewell Valley Central High School). Before regionalization of the school district in the 1950s, the high school was simply known as Central High School of Hopewell Township, and the moniker Central High School (sans the Hopewell Valley) persists to some extent in the state of New Jersey as the school's (albeit incorrect) official name.

East Amwell Township is a township in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 3,917, a decrease of 96 (−2.4%) from the 2010 census count of 4,013, which in turn reflected a decline of 442 (−9.9%) from the 4,455 counted in the 2000 census.East Amwell Township is located in the southeastern corner of Hunterdon County where it borders both Somerset and Mercer counties, within the heart of the Amwell Valley and Raritan Valley regions. It includes the unincorporated community of Ringoes, the oldest known settlement in Hunterdon County, as well as the communities of Larison's Corner, Weert's Corner and part of Reaville.

The Amwell Valley is a small valley in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, between the Hunterdon Plateau and the Sourlands. It comprises Stockton, parts of Delaware Township, West Amwell, East Amwell, Flemington and Raritan Township. The region borders the Delaware River to the west and the South Branch Raritan River to the east. The entire area has elevations around 200 feet above sea level. US 202 (including a shared section with NJ 31) is the main route running west to east through the valley. Old York Road also passes through the valley, taking a generally more southern route (Old York crosses 202 twice in the area) through Raritan and along the Sourlands at Mount Airy. Like the Hunterdon Plateau, Amwell Valley still has a large number of farms due to its sufficient climate, relatively flat land and the presence of silt-loams soils. The valley is home to Unionville Winery and Old York Cellars in Ringoes.

Jeremiah Vandyke House, also known as Andrew B. Hankins House, is a historic house located at 87-91 Featherbed Lane, Hopewell Township, Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The home is of interest because it is one of few of this style of home that would have been, at the time, a very common and unremarkable Dutch Colonial fieldstone house. The original stone part of the building measures 29x16 feet and consists of a single room downstairs with a central staircase. The west end of this room has an open fireplace with an oak lintel. The east wall has a smaller fireplace with a simple early 19th century mantel. The exposed ceiling has chamfered hewn oak beams, carrying wide floorboards. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a short hallway.

Vanlieu Corners (also Van Liew's Corners) is an unincorporated community in East Amwell Township in Hunterdon County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.In 1881, the settlement consisted of a small cluster of residences, surrounding the Chamberlin & Van Liew store. Vanlieu Corners was in the same school district as Wertsville. Today, the area is at the corner of Wertsville Road (County Route 602) and Rileyville Road (CR 607) and consists of mostly farmland on the north slope of the Sourland Mountain.
