365 is a media company in Iceland. At its peak, it was a mass media company and operated several TV and radio stations, and one newspaper. 365 also rebroadcast foreign television channels over its digital TV system. It started broadcasting Bylgjan in 1986, Stöð 2 started in 1986, Stöð 2 Sport (Sýn) in 1995, Bíórásin in 1998, and it started publishing Fréttablaðið in 2001. In 2017, it sold most of its assets to Fjarskipti ehf, the parent company of Vodafone Iceland.

Iceland College of Education was a normal college in Iceland. It merged with the University of Iceland in July 2008 and is now called the School of Education. Enrollment was around 2300 students with more than half of them being distance learning students. The university offered B.A., Bf B Ed. and B.S degree programmes as well as M.Ed. and doctorate degrees. The main campus is located in Reykjavík. The main building is at Stakkahlid and the art department is nearby at Skipholt 37. The division of Sport and Physical Education is located at Laugarvatn campus in the south of Iceland, approximately 90 kilometres from Reykjavík.

The House of commerce, (Icelandic: Hús verslunarinnar) is an office tower located at Kringlan 7 near Kringlan shopping mall in Reykjavík, Iceland. The building was constructed from 1975-1981. The building has a 4-based tower structure, the tallest one being approximately 54 meters (177 feet) high.

The Reykjavík Theatre Company (RTC) was founded in 1897 when two existing companies in Reykjavík combined, performing in the then newly built Iðnó (Craftsmens' House). With Indriði Einarsson (1851-1939) as its Director, RTC became the fertile ground in which Iceland's professional theatre developed. Einarsson's dedication to professional theatre champion Sigurður Guðmundsson's (1833-1874) vision of a permanent National Theatre was key in the evolution of Iceland's professional theatre.

Verzlunarskóli Íslands, usually referred to as Verzló (official name in English: Commercial College of Iceland) is an Icelandic gymnasium. It was founded in 1905 and is the oldest private school in Iceland. The school is located in Reykjavík and has more than 900 students. The gymnasium serves the whole of Iceland and has a student population of just below one thousand. It is organized on the basis of a form system, all students in the same form having the same timetable. Students are in school full-time from 8:15 – 15:40, Monday - Friday. The school year consists of two semesters, fall and spring. Each semester students take a full-time load of courses worth five or six credits each. Over three years, they take a total of 140+ credits and matriculate with an Icelandic stúdentspróf which is the standard prerequisite for university admission in Iceland. This qualification is also accepted for admission to universities around the world. In their first year all students follow a common curriculum. They then opt to specialise in one of four streams: business, science, social science and languages or arts. However, in all streams during the first two years there is a strong focus on practical business courses like accounting, economics and computer studies. These courses qualify students for the Commercial Diploma (‘Verzlunarpróf') at the end of their second year. In terms of the students' age and academic standard, the Commercial Diploma corresponds roughly to A-levels in the United Kingdom and the High School Diploma in the United States. During the remaining two years of their three-year programme, students complete their stúdentspróf. These two years could be considered comparable to two years of study at an academic college, for example equivalent to two years of university- level foundation courses in an American junior college.

The Reykjavík College of Music (Icelandic: Tónlistarskólinn í Reykjavík) is an Icelandic conservatory of music that was founded in 1930 and is the oldest surviving college of music in the country. It offers music education at intermediate, continuing, and university levels. Students graduate with a degree equivalent to a B.A. in performance, singing or composition or a B.Ed. in Music education.The Reykjavík College of Music also operates a symphony orchestra (Orchestra of the Reykjavík College of Music), whose purpose is to train students in performance.

Kringlan (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈkʰriŋlan]) is a shopping mall located in the Icelandic capital region. It is the second largest in the country, after Smáralind in Kópavogur, with over 180 shops and restaurants. It was constructed in 1987, and includes a Hagkaup supermarket, a library, a theatre, a cinema, as well as a selection of well-known restaurants and retailers. Kringlan lies on the busiest traffic intersection in Reykjavík. Icelandic state television RÚV’s headquarters are also nearby. Reykjavík City Theatre lies adjacent to the shopping centre.Kringlan has some department stores which are H&M, Hagkaup, Next, 66North and Bónus. It was featured in the film Dreamland (2010).

The National Archives of Iceland (Icelandic: Þjóðskjalasafn Íslands [ˈθjouðˌscaːlaˌsapn ˈistlan(t)s]) is the national archive of Iceland, located in Reykjavík. The National Archives, holding materials on Icelandic history from the era of the sagas in the 12th century to present, contributes greatly to historical research on the rights and role of Icelandic society.
