Ballincollig (Irish: Baile an Chollaigh) is a suburban town within the administrative area of Cork city in Ireland. It is located on the western side of Cork city, beside the River Lee on the R608 regional road. In 2016 it was the largest town in County Cork, at which time the Ballincollig Electoral Division had a population of 18,621 people. It is located beyond the green belt from the suburbs of Bishopstown and Wilton. Historically home to the Ballincollig Royal Gunpowder Mills which is now a Regional Park, the town has seen much growth in recent years as a satellite of Cork City. Ballincollig is within the Cork North-West Dáil constituency.

Ballincollig GAA is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in the town of Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated with the Cork GAA board and plays in the Muskerry divisional competitions. In 2009, the club will participate in the Cork Senior Football Championship and the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship.

The Church of St Mary and St John is the older of two Roman Catholic churches in the town of Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland. The church was built in the 1860s, funded by donations from the local people of the time, and officially opened on 28 October 1866. The church is in a Gothic Revival style, combined with some features of other periods. It is built of ashlar limestone with roof slates. The church is included in the Record of Protected Structures maintained by Cork City Council.

Ballincollig Royal Gunpowder Mills was one of three Royal gunpowder mills that manufactured gunpowder for the British Government. Located in Ballincollig near Cork city in Ireland, the powder mills were originally opened in 1794 as a private enterprise, before being taken over by the British Government during the Napoleonic Wars. The mills returned for a time to private ownership in the mid-19th century, before closing permanently in 1903. In the late 20th century Cork County Council bought the mill grounds, developed a public park and opened a visitor centre. Though the visitor centre closed in 2002, many of the mill buildings remain accessible in the public park.Though ruined, many of the remaining structures of the mill site are afforded National Monument status.

Coláiste Choilm is a mixed second-level school in Ballincollig in Cork, Ireland. The school was founded in 1987 to meet demand for second-level education in the rapidly growing satellite town of Ballincollig. Since 1991 it has had a gaelscoil co-located on its campus, Gaelcholáiste Choilm. For the 2023/2024 academic year the school reported an attendance of 675 girls and 684 boys for a total of 1359 students. The school has had two overall winners of the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition. Simon Meehan won in 2018. Alan O’Sullivan and Cormac Harris won in 2020.

Oriel House (previously known as Oriel Court) is a hotel in the west end of the town of Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland. It was built early in the 19th century to house administrating officers of the Ballincollig Gunpowder Mills site.Hosting a number of other businesses after the mills closed, in 1983 it was converted to operate as a hotel by its then owner William (Bill) Shanahan. The hotel was sold in 2003, further developed in 2006, and underwent another change of ownership in 2014.

Ballincollig Castle is a Norman castle to the south of the town of Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland built after the Norman invasion of Ireland. In its prime, the castle was inhabited by the Barrett family, who had control of the local area. The castle still stands today, albeit largely in ruin. The original keep still remains, as does most of the curtain wall and two towers.

Ballincollig Regional Park is a park in Ballincollig, County Cork, Ireland, created on the grounds of the former Ballincollig Royal Gunpowder Mills. The park is approximately 55 hectares (135 acres) in area, with 52 structures in varying stages of decay surviving from the gunpowder manufacturing process. Most of the former gunpowder manufacturing was localized in the eastern part of the park, where ruins of the charcoal mill, saltpeter, and sulphur refineries can be seen. The western part is larger, and the buildings are sparser, with press house, granulating mill, and dusting house remaining. The site is approximately 2.4 km (1.5 mi) in length and the River Lee runs the northern length of the site, creating a natural boundary of the park. The site contains a system of canals used during the manufacturing process connecting all the process areas in a single flat system without locks. The canals are fed from the River Lee at the western end of the site, and they were regraded and reformed in the late 1980 by the Cork City Council.

Healy's Bridge railway station was on the Cork and Muskerry Light Railway in County Cork, Ireland.

Carrigrohane Castle is located in the village of Carrigrohane, barony of Barretts in County Cork, Ireland. It is situated on a rocky cliff-edge which overlooks the River Lee.

Coachford Junction railway station was on the Cork and Muskerry Light Railway (CMLR) in County Cork, Ireland. The station marked the junction in the CMLR lines eastwards to the Blarney terminus station, and westwards to the Coachford terminus station.
