Setanta Hurling Club (Irish: Cumann Báire Setanta) is a hurling club in Ballymun in Dublin, Ireland. The club, which was formed in the 1980s, is concerned with the games of hurling and camogie and plays in the Senior 3 division of the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship. The club's clubhouse and pitch are adjacent to the Ballymun Library.

The Ballymun Shopping Centre was a shopping centre in Ballymun, on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland. Built in April 1969, it was one of Ireland's first shopping centres and was Dublin's second shopping centre. The building also contained a pub called The Towers Pub, and a swimming pool. The shopping centre was shut down in 2018, and was demolished in 2021. Before its demolition, it was considered by Dublin Inquirer and The Irish Times to be the last relic of 1960s Ballymun. The only traces of the centre remaining are an Easter Rising mural and some of its parking spaces. The lack of any redevelopment, and the ultimate demolition of the centre, has been described by The Irish Times as "the single biggest broken promise to Ballymun" and a milestone in the failure of Ballymun's Regeneration.

The Ballymun Flats referred to a number of flats—including the seven Ballymun tower blocks—in Ballymun, Dublin, Ireland. Built rapidly in the 1960s, there were 36 blocks in total, consisting of seven 15-storey, nineteen eight-storey, and ten four-storey blocks. The complex was built in a Corbusian style known as towers in the park, which was popular in European and American cities in the mid-20th century.The 15-storey blocks actually had 17 storeys, including the entrance floor and a plant room on their roofs. Joseph Plunkett tower, named after one of the signatories of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic, was typical of the taller tower blocks. It was a 42-metre, 8,500-tonne building that housed 90 families in 30 three-, two-, and one-bedroom units. The entire complex was demolished in the early 21st century. By October 2013, there were just three remaining blocks, all of which were empty. The last block was demolished in September 2015.

Ballymun (Irish: Baile Munna) is an outer suburb of Dublin, Ireland, at the northern edge of the Northside, the green-field development of which began in the 1960s to accommodate a housing crisis in inner city areas of Dublin. While the newly built housing was state-of-the-art at the time, comprising high-rise tower blocks and flat complexes, residents were moved in years before shops, schools and other infrastructure were fully ready, and the area became well known for both a strong community spirit and considerable social challenges. Ballymun has several sub-districts such as Sillogue, Coultry, Shangan and Poppintree, and is close to both the Republic of Ireland's only IKEA store and to Dublin Airport. The area is the source of one Dublin river, and parts lie in the floodplain of another, and there are a number of parks. In 1997, a regeneration plan was announced, which led to demolition of the flats over time and their replacement by new low-rise housing, along with some civic amenities, a number of arts projects, including the participative tree-planting project amaptocare, and an unfinished civic plaza, but also saw the loss of many of the area's shops, including the demolition of the only shopping centre. The regeneration, originally budgeted at 442 million euro, had cost at least one billion euro as of 2016, for the public elements. A metro stop on a city-to-airport line was planned but the plans were later shelved.

The Centre for the Talented Youth (Ireland) (CTY Ireland) is a youth programme for students between the ages of six and seventeen of high academic ability in Ireland, run by Dr. Colm O'Reilly.There are sibling projects around the world, most notably the CTY programme at Johns Hopkins University, the original model for CTY Ireland. CTY students are eligible to participate in CTY's summer sessions for older students. CTY was founded in 1992, with its first summer programme running in 1993, and is based at Dublin City University in Glasnevin, Dublin 9. The centre offers various courses for gifted students as well as conducting research and promoting the needs of the talented in Ireland. Currently, it caters for 5,000 students a year

The Helix, formally The Helix Centre for the Performing Arts, is a multi-purpose venue located on the Dublin City University main campus in Glasnevin, Dublin. Officially opened by then President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, on 21 October 2002, the Helix contains a concert hall, theatre, studio theatre, exhibition space, artists-in-residence studios, and a green room and other support spaces, as well as a café.

Dublin City University (abbreviated as DCU) (Irish: Ollscoil Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath) is a university based on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland. Created as the National Institute for Higher Education, Dublin in 1975, it enrolled its first students in 1980, and was elevated to university status (along with the NIHE Limerick, now the University of Limerick) in September 1989 by statute. In September 2016, DCU completed the process of incorporating four other Dublin-based educational institutions: the Church of Ireland College of Education, All Hallows College, Mater Dei Institute of Education and St Patrick's College.As of 2020, the university has 17,400 students and over 80,000 alumni. In addition the university has around 1,200 online distance education students studying through DCU Connected. There were 1,690 staff in 2019. Notable members of the academic staff include former Taoiseach, John Bruton and "thinking" Guru Edward De Bono. Bruton accepted a position as Adjunct Faculty Member in the School of Law and Government in early 2004 and De Bono accepted an adjunct Professorship in the university in mid-2005. The founding president of the institution was Dr Danny O'Hare, who retired in 1999 after 22 years' service. After a period of administration by an acting president, Professor Albert Pratt, Professor Ferdinand von Prondzynski was appointed and continued as president for a full ten-year term, which ended in July 2010. Professor Brian MacCraith was appointed next and was succeeded in 2020 by the current president, Professor Daire Keogh.

Albert College Park (Irish: Páirc Choláiste Ailbhe), also known as Hampstead Park, is a public park owned by Dublin City Council and managed by the council's Parks and Landscape Services division. It is located in northern Glasnevin, in the mid-northern suburbs of Dublin.

St. Kevin's Boys Football Club, is an association football club, in Whitehall, in North Dublin, with over forty schoolboy teams who play in the Dublin District Schoolboys League and a number of senior sides who play in the Leinster Senior League.The club uses playing facilities at Ellenfield Park, Shanowen Road, St. Aidan's CBS, Ward Cross, the Royal College of Surgeons Cloghran, Collinstown, Hampstead Park, and Coolgrena. In 2018, St. Kevins entered into a player development pathway, a five-year agreement, with Bohemians.

The Sports Surgery Clinic (SSC), located in Santry, Dublin, Ireland, is a private hospital focused on orthopaedic surgery, and orthopaedic, spinal, sports, and exercise-related injuries. Numerous patients have been famous athletes and rock stars.

St. Aidan's C.B.S. is an Irish Christian Brothers secondary school under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools Trust located on Collins Avenue, Dublin. It is beside Dublin City University. Most St. Aidan's students have progressed from the local primary schools such as Larkhill Boys National School; Our Lady of Victories, Ballymun; St. Patrick's National School, Drumcondra; and St. Fiachra's School, Beaumont.

Ballygall (Irish: Baile na nGall, meaning 'townland (baile) of the Foreigners') is a small suburban area located between Glasnevin and Finglas, on the northside of the city of Dublin, Ireland. It is also a townland divided between the civil parish of Finglas and that of Glasnevin. It was settled by Vikings in the 11th century, and later by the Cambro-Normans. The area is largely residential, with St Kevins College, some shops, and a church and schools.
