The Vale is a street in Chelsea, London. It runs roughly north to south, from a junction with Elm Park Road and Elm Park Gardens (effectively its northern continuation) to a t-junction in the south where it meets the King's Road. In December 2022, it was reckoned to be the eighth most expensive street in England.Most of the west side, 3-29 The Vale is grade II listed. This includes no 27, The Russian House, the facade of which is a Russian dacha built for a "turn-of-the-century exhibition" at The Crystal Palace between 1890 and 1900, then bought by the architect F. E. Williams, then relocated, transformed and extended from c. 1911 to c. 1913. It was listed for sale in 2016 at £16 million.Henry Tonks, the artist and surgeon lived at no 1 from 1910 until his death in 1937. His 1928–1929 painting Saturday Night in the Vale was bought by Sir William Orpen in 1929 and bequeathed to Tate in 1932. It depicts George Moore reading aloud from his novel Aphrodite in Aulis to an audience of St John Hutchinson, his wife Mary Hutchinson, Philip Wilson Steer, and Tonks.

Mallord Street is a street in London, England in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It was named after Joseph Mallord William Turner who had lived in Chelsea. There are no other streets named Mallord Street in Great Britain.Mallord Street is parallel to the King's Road and runs from Old Church Street to The Vale. It was created in 1909 when The Vale was extended northwards, and Mallord Street and Mulberry Street were added to link it with Old Church Street. Renumbering took place in 1924.Nine of the houses in the street are listed Grade II by Historic England and there have been several notable residents, including the author A. A. Milne and the artist Augustus John.

The Fetter Lane Society was the first flowering of the Moravian Church in Britain, and an important precursor to Methodism. It was founded in 1738. Although the original meeting house was destroyed in the mid-20th century, the society still meets in London, and is part of the British Province of the Moravian Church.

Allen Hall Seminary, often abbreviated to Allen Hall, is the Roman Catholic seminary and theological college of the Province of Westminster at 28 Beaufort Street in Chelsea, London, in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is situated on the site of the house that was once occupied by St Thomas More. Though nothing of the house remains parts of the 16th-century garden wall exist today.

The Glaciarium was the world's first mechanically frozen ice rink and was located in London, England. An item in the 8 June 1844 issue of Littell's Living Age headed "The Glaciarium" reported: This establishment, which has been removed to Grafton street East' Tottenham-court-road [sic], was opened on Monday afternoon. The area of artificial ice is extremely convenient for such as may be desirous of engaging in the graceful and manly pastime of skating. A later rink was opened by John Gamgee in a tent in a small building just off the Kings Road in Chelsea, London, on 7 January 1876. In March, it moved to a permanent venue at 379 Kings Road, where a rink measuring 40 by 24 feet was established.The rink was based on a concrete surface, with layers of earth, cow hair and timber planks. Atop these were laid oval copper pipes carrying a solution of glycerine with ether, nitrogen peroxide, and water. The pipes were covered by water and the solution was pumped through, freezing the water into ice. Gamgee had discovered the process while attempting to develop a method to freeze meat for import from Australia and New Zealand, and had patented it as early as 1870.Gamgee operated the rink on a membership-only basis and attempted to attract a wealthy clientele, experienced in open-air ice skating during winters in the Alps. He installed an orchestra gallery, which could also be used by spectators, and decorated the walls with views of the Swiss Alps.The rink initially proved a success, and Gamgee opened two further rinks later in the year: at Rusholme in Manchester and the "Floating Glaciarium" at Charing Cross in London, this last significantly larger at 115 by 25 feet. However, the process was expensive, and mists rising from the ice deterred customers, forcing Gamgee to close the Glaciarium by the end of the year, and all his rinks had shut by mid-1878. However, the Southport Glaciarium opened in 1879, using Gamgee's method.

Paultons Square is a Georgian terraced garden square in Chelsea, London, SW3. It was built in 1836–40 on the site of a former market garden, land previously owned by Sir Thomas More and Sir John Danvers. The square features a central lawn enclosed by metal railings; the houses surrounding it are listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England.The author Gavin Maxwell is a notable former resident of the square – he lived at No. 9 from 1961 to 1965 – and it is often visited by admirers of his work. The novelist and short-story writer Jean Rhys lived in Flat 22 in Paulton House in the square from 1936 to 1938, and the writer Samuel Beckett lived at No. 48 from 1933 to 1934. The physicist Patrick Blackett also lived at No. 48. Other residents include the painters Augustus John, at No. 45, and Paul Nash, at No. 19, the poet Kathleen Raine, at No. 47, and lexicographer Henry Watson Fowler, at No. 14. Beckett, Blackett, Rhys, Fowler and Maxwell all have blue plaques. The garden is 0.3535 hectares (0.874 acres) in size and was redesigned in 2000. It is accessible only to local residents.

Elm Park Road is a street in Chelsea, London. It runs roughly west to east from Park Walk, crossing Beaufort Street, among others. In 1875, Chelsea Park House was demolished, and Park Road was extended across the empty site to Park Place (now Park Walk), and the street was renamed Elm Park Road. Most of the houses were built from 1875 to 1882, and much was designed by George Godwin.

Beaufort Street is a street in Chelsea, London SW3. It runs north to south from Fulham Road to Cheyne Walk, and is bisected by the King's Road.

Beaufort House was a grand mansion built beside the River Thames at Chelsea, London, by Thomas More in about 1520, while he held the position of Lord High Chancellor to King Henry VIII. On his arrest in 1534 all of More's property was forfeit to the Crown. The house was given the name of Beaufort House only in 1682, when it passed into the hands of the 1st Duke of Beaufort. It was demolished in 1740, giving its name to present-day Beaufort Street.

Sex (stylised SEX) was a boutique run by Vivienne Westwood and her former partner Malcolm McLaren at 430 King's Road, London between 1974 and 1976. It specialised in clothing that defined the look of the punk movement.

The Moravian Burial Ground is the burial ground of the Moravian Congregation in London.

Lindsey House is a Grade II* listed villa in Cheyne Walk, Chelsea, London. It is owned by the National Trust but tenanted and only open by special arrangement. This house should not be confused with the eponymous 1640 house in Lincoln's Inn Fields. That house came to be known as Lindsey House for its occupation in the 18th century by later Earls of Lindsey.The gardens of Lindsey House are Grade II listed on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.
