St. George Street

The University Women's Club of Toronto is a Canadian organization that was founded in 1903 to promote women's education. Its parent organization is Canadian Federation of University Women.

The Bata Shoe Museum (BSM) is a museum of footwear and calceology in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The museum's building is situated near the northwest of the University of Toronto's St. George campus, in downtown Toronto. The 3,665-square-metre (39,450 sq ft) museum building was designed by Moriyama & Teshima Architects, with Raymond Moriyama as the lead architect. The museum's collection of footwear originated from the personal collections of Sonja Bata, started in the mid-1940s. In 1979, Bata provided an endowment to create the Bata Shoe Museum Foundation, with the aim of having the collection professionally managed, and to establish a shoe museum to house, store, and exhibit the collection. The foundation exhibited the collection to the public for the first time in 1992, although it did not open a permanent facility for its museum until May 1995. The museum's permanent collection includes over 13,000 shoes, and other footwear related items dating back 4,500 years; providing the museum with the largest collection of footwear in the world. Items in the museum's collection are either held in storage, or placed on display in its permanent exhibition. The museum also hosts and organizes a number of temporary and travelling exhibitions, and outreach programs.

The University of Toronto Faculty of Law (U of T Law, UToronto Law) is the law school of the University of Toronto. The Faculty's admissions process is the most selective of law schools in Canada and is one of the most selective in North America. The Faculty has consistently been ranked as the top law school for Common Law in Canada by Maclean's since it began to publish law school rankings. The Faculty offers the JD, LLM, SJD, MSL, and GPLLM degrees in law. Among its alumni are a Canadian Prime Minister, three Chiefs of Staff to the Prime Minister, two Premiers of Ontario, two Mayors of Toronto, and fourteen Justices of the Supreme Court of Canada, including three of the nine currently-sitting Justices (Russell Brown, Michael J. Moldaver, and Sheilah Martin). A number of deans at North American law schools—Columbia Law School, Toronto Faculty of Law, Queen's Faculty of Law, and Alberta Faculty of Law—are University of Toronto Law graduates.The current Dean of the Faculty of Law (as of January 1, 2021) is Jutta Brunnée, an international and environmental law scholar.

The York Club is a private social club that was incorporated on November 22, 1909. It is located at 135 St. George Street in The Annex neighbourhood of central Toronto, Ontario, Canada, close to the University of Toronto.

Ewart College was a historical women's college located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in Canada. In September 1991, it merged with Knox College, University of Toronto. Founded on October 11, 1897, it was then called the Ewart Missionary Training Home, later to be renamed the Presbyterian Missionary and Deaconess Training School. After a new building was constructed in 1960, it was renamed for Catherine Seaton Ewart; that building, located at 156 St. George Street, is now home to Ernescliff College. Founded by women, the original purpose of Ewart was to prepare women for missionary service. In later years, it focused on diaconal ministry and Christian and lay education. Following the Presbyterian Church in Canada's decision to ordain women as Ministers in 1966, the college admitted male students in the 1970s, and in 1991, along with the merger with Knox College, many Ewart graduates have taken further studies to become ordained within the Presbyterian Church. Ewart Chapel, housed within the Chapel at Knox College, is named after Ewart College, along with the McKay Educational Resource Room. The Ewart Centre for Lay Education at Knox College, an adult education program, is also named after the institution. It offers a certificate program in Christian Faith and Life.

St. George is a station on Line 1 Yonge–University and Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway. It is located north of Bloor Street West between St. George Street and Bedford Road. This is the second-busiest station, after Bloor–Yonge station, serving a combined total of approximately 256,030 people a day. Wi-Fi service is available at this station.

Woodsworth College, named after politician and clergyman James Shaver Woodsworth (1874–1942), is a college within the University of Toronto in Canada. It is one of the largest college in the Faculty of Arts and Science on the St. George Campus. It is also the newest of the colleges at the University of Toronto, created in 1974. Woodsworth College's arms and badge were registered with the Canadian Heraldic Authority on October 15, 2006.The college was founded to serve part-time students exclusively, specifically adults pursuing studies in Arts and Sciences, and transfer students. Since 1999, Woodsworth has welcomed direct entry students. Woodsworth College is home to approximately 5300 students.

Rochdale College was an experiment in student-run alternative education and co-operative living in Toronto, Canada from 1968 to 1975. It provided space for 840 residents in a co-operative living space. It was also an informal, noncredited free university where students and teachers would live together and share knowledge. The project ultimately failed when it could not cover its financing and neighbours complained that it had become a haven for drugs and crime.

The Bloor Street Culture Corridor is a cluster of arts and cultural organizations in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located on Bloor Street West, between Bathurst and Yonge streets. The corridor has a wide variety of art genres, from museum experiences to films, art exhibitions to music concerts. The area also is culturally diverse, including Aboriginal, French, Jewish, Italian, Japanese, Estonian, African and Caribbean arts and culture. Officially launched in April 2014, the collective shares a website, social media and a mobile app to promote exhibitions at its member institutions. In 2016, the corridor was successful in working with the Toronto municipal government to have the section of Bloor Street West designated an official City of Toronto cultural corridor. Each year more than three million persons visit the corridor's arts and culture destinations, and attend exhibitions, performances, and events. Together, the Bloor Street Culture Corridor organizations employ more than 5,500 culture workers and generate more than $629,500,000 in economic impact each year.

The Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport is a 2,000 seat indoor arena facility at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is home to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues basketball and volleyball teams. The facility was completed in the fall of 2014 at a cost $58 million, with $22.5 million coming from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and $11 million from the Goldring family, for whom the centre has been named. The facility is designed by Patkau Architects and MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects in joint venture, with landscape architecture by PLANT Architect, structural engineering by Blackwell, and construction services by Ellis Don. Along with the 2,000-seat, internationally-rated field house for basketball, volleyball and other court sports, the multi-storey sport and exercise facility houses a state-of-the-art strength and conditioning centre, fitness studio, sport medicine clinic and research and teaching laboratories.The venue is also home to the BioSteel All-Canadian Basketball Game, an annual all-star game that features the best Canadian high school basketball players of the year.

St Thomas's Church, Huron Street is a parish of the Anglican Church of Canada in Toronto, Ontario. One of the earliest Anglo-Catholic congregations in Canada, it was established in 1874, moving twice before settling into its present building, adjacent to the Annex on the western edge of the University of Toronto's downtown campus. The liturgy and music at St Thomas's make it a "destination" church. Many people who do not live within the boundaries of the parish attend services.

Innis College is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Toronto. It is one of the University of Toronto's smallest colleges in terms of size and the second smallest college in terms of population with approximately 2000 registered students. It is located in the campus' historic west end, directly north of Robarts Library, and is named after prominent University of Toronto political economist Harold Innis. The College includes a fully equipped cinema, supporting 35mm, 16mm, and all digital presentation formats, known as Innis Town Hall, which hosts numerous film festivals, free film screenings, and a variety of other cultural events. It also serves as a venue for Hot Docs, which is North America's largest documentary film festival.
